Recently, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 received an update that improved its multiplayer offering, and now the single player is getting an overhaul. A free update due to be released today not only adds new Crash Bandicoot-themed items for you to collect, it brings a much requested change to how the Tours operate.

The update will introduce Solo Tours, and it means that you'll be able to play the Pro Skater 1 and 2 Tours with every character — including all the objectives. As it is now, you can only do things like collect the SKATE letters or find the hidden tapes during one playthrough. After the update hits, you'll be able to choose another skater and all the tasks will reset, making it more like the structure of the original games. Cool!

As we mentioned, another addition in this update is a slew of Crash Bandicoot cosmetic items. You'll be able to kit out your custom skater with clothing items and decks inspired by Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. You can see some of these items in the (very) brief video above.

The update will also bring The Birdman Pack to the game. This pack of 10 decks is only available to purchase for a limited time, but here's the thing. All net profits earned from this pack will go towards the Skatepark Project, an organisation aiming to "creating public skateparks in underserved communities".

There are 100 new challenges to push your skills too, and developer Vicarious Visions has tuned them to provide more cash and XP. It's a pretty beefy update — we're sure lots of fans will appreciate the Solo Tours especially.
