This is why you don't preorder games. If it wasn't running properly on consoles, they should have delayed it more and released it on PC to get some money back (which is why I think they finally released it to be honest. So many years of development + covid surely meant a big investment).
But how much time it actually is? My PS4 controller barely goes over 3 hours. I don't expect Nintendo levels of battery, but 5-6 hours would be decent enough.
@Claude Black sheep is a way to say that someone or something is different from the others, or that it stands out from the rest. Being a GOTY actually fits that description.
Oh man, I thought they would never add anything to Sekiro. I haven't played it since I obtained the Platinum trophy, but I'll do another run once this is released.
I believe this achievement was reached mostly because the first game was highly appraised and not because how good/bad the sequel actually is. Not to take any merit out of the game, but we'll have a clearer picture in the following months to see how many legs the game has.
@iamtylerdurden1 First of all, I never said that they do, so that's out of the question already.
We don't have any metrics released by Media Molecule to get the actual number of Nintendo related creations in Dreams AFAIK, so that is a shot in the dark at best, but correct me if I'm wrong.
About this causing any harm to somebody, I believe that is hardly relevant here since none of us really owns the IPs. What we see as harmful or helpful for an IP may be way different for the IP owner.
As I said, creators may not make any direct profit, but Sony/Media Molecule still are, that's why Nintendo is targeting Sony and not individuals. Dreams isn't free. Even if no one actually bought it to play Nintendo related rip offs, those are still available there. Take Youtube as an example. They also discourage the use of copyrighted material and they promote original content, but that doesn't stop people from doing it and IP owners from claiming it. The same can happen here.
At the end of the day, most corporations are "greedy pricks". I'm not on their side, but I understand they need to protect their IP, especially because, in the case of Nintendo, said IPs are their main source of income.
About Nintendo not supporting creativity (by letting others work with their IPs) is not true at all. You can see their recent collab with Brace Yourself Games. That's an indie development team and they still got the rights to work with one of Nintendo's biggest IP. Nintendo wants to work with developers to ensure the quality of the games so they don't dilute the value of their IP.
Finally, that's a weird flex, but ok. If you see this as the right way to express your discontent, please go ahead. I mean, that might do more than replying my comment.
Let's remember that, even if the creators of these minigames aren't making any direct profit, Sony/Media Molecule still are. IIRC, a lot of the most popular creations in Dreams have Nintendo-related content. They could be a reason why some people might pick up Dreams to begin with (that's why Nintendo isn't targeting individuals but Sony instead). We also need to consider that some streamers are profiting from streaming these too. At the end of the day, they are entitled to protect their IP, we like it or not.
Nice. Now I just need to know a couple of things. Are we going be able to transfer our digital library to the PS5 once it launches? Can I play multiplayer PS4 games on a PS5 with players using a PS4? If both are affirmative, that would seal the deal for me.
It really depends of the market. With games steadily (but surely) reaching ridiculous file sizes of 100GB+, I see streaming as a great option to let us play instantly and with better visuals than the system would be able to provide. That said, for it to become mainstream, they'll need to figure out how to deliver a decent quality service even with slower internet connections. Fiber isn't available at every country, so developing an streaming-only device would cut those markets almost entirely. Other thing to consider is the duration of the servers. We know they are not gonna last forever, so buying a game and then having it being unplayable would suck more than having it downloaded to your system. So yeah, for now I believe we could see a mix of both on the next gen.
@Flaming_Kaiser Call me crazy, but none of the comments on this thread are trying to say that this is wrong, just that it seems mostly pretentious. The closest thing that some have said about it is that hopefully they were hired for their abilities instead of their gender. As far as we know, Guerrilla just bragged about the number, not about their job so there's that to take into consideration.
I don't know what that last bit has to do with anything about what I've said, so I'll kindly ignore it.
@Gamer4Lyfe That just makes it look even more pretentious to me, something to gain attention, not actual recognition for the women in their workforce. Look at the key word of their tweet: "We have doubled the number of women making games @Guerrilla since last #InternationalWomensDay". It feels likes just a little pat-pat on the back than actual recognition like: "We want to take a moment to thank the women @Guerrilla for their exceptional work and dedication. Without them, we don't know if could have achieved our goals to provide great experiences to our fans. We are truly grateful for their work!" or something like that.
Man... I'm glad I'm not interested in this game, but it surely sucks for anyone expecting it to pop it in and start playing it. Seems like going for the digital version and preloading it is the best option in this case.
I love From Software games, but I think I'll hold myself from buying it now. Not because I'm afraid that Sekiro will be a bad game, but because they usually release DLC some time after launch and we end up with a "Complete" version for the same price as the base game. It happened with Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, so there's no reason for this game to not follow the same, especially considering that Activision is the publisher.
Jokes aside, this shouldn't be worthy of an announcement. Don't take me wrong, I'm glad they are making an effort to be more inclusive and such, but doing this kind of thing only makes this seem like a pretentious move instead of an honest effort to make this the norm, just like how celebrities film themselves helping the ones in need to make themselves look good.
I hope it is coming. I didn't had the chance to try it, but after playing Dark Souls 1, 2 and Bloodborne, I sure want to try Demon Souls. That said, if they ever do it, I hope it is a remaster like Shadow of the Colossus and not like Dark Souls Remastered.
@Cycologist Oh, well, I didn't get the chance to get it back then, so I would take it if they end up repeating it (I don't know if they do). And well yes, The Last Guardian was released in 2016, but For Honor was released in 2017 and they put it on this month's Plus games, so I don't know if the release date is really a problem here.
I'm very happy with my Switch and my PS4 at the moment. Both have all the games I'm interested in playing so far. At least for me, there's no reason to get a Xbox One unless it is cheaper where you live (at least over here it is) or if you want a slightly better graphical performance in some games (on Xbox one X) and don't want to buy/build a gaming PC.
All things considered, I'm surprised production lasted this long to be honest. Now with japanese developers shifting towards other platforms, I guess it was unavoidable.
Perhaps they couldn't land a deal. They love putting unexpected characters in MK, and both Ed Boon and this other artist from NetherRealm looked like they were down with the idea, but whatever. It seems I'll have to wait until next time.

Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers
Good thing I haven't bought it. I'll wait for a sale for the PS5 version.
Re: Bethesda Apologises to PS5, PS4 Fans 'P*ssed' at Exclusivity
So PS fans mess with Xbox fans for not having exclusives, but they also get pissed when they have them. Got it.
Re: PS5 Scalpers Reportedly Don't Like All the Bad Press They Get
They hoard all the units, leaving next to no chance for people that genuinely want the system buy it. They deserve all the bad press they can get.
Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?
The price in my country is very high (almost $700), so I'll wait until the demand is lower so we get a price drop.

Re: Soapbox: Demon's Souls' Difficulty Shouldn't Deter You from Playing PS5's Best Game
Once the PS5 price drops I'll be getting it.
Re: Poll: What PS5 Launch Games Will You Buy?
I'm not getting the PS5 for now, but if I were, the only game that caught my attention was Demon's Souls.
Re: Reminder: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Receives Free Major Update on 28th October
Already got the platinum trophy, but I'm willing to go for another round.
Re: Sony Abandons Decades-Old Japanese Controller Logic for PS5
Good that they have a standard now, but I hope we can remap the buttons too.
Re: Demon's Souls Remake Is a PS5 Launch Game
Man... Spending $570 in a couple of months just doesn't seem responsible in my position, but it is seriously tempting.

Getting more disconnections now and crashes now hmm...

Re: Yes, the PS5 Can Be Placed On Its Side
Still looks kind of awkward. Hopefully the rumors of its heat problems were not real, but I guess we'll know when it comes out.
Re: Gallery: Demon's Souls PS5 Screenshots Are Mind-Blowing
I need a release date. Is it a launch title? If it isn't, then I'm waiting until it is out to get a PS5.
