Are there any signs we’ll get a discount on PS Plus subs somewhere in the coming days/weeks as part of the “15 years” promotions? I’m thinking about subbing for € 72 for a year, before we’ll get hit with another price increase.

With Death Stranding being in my too 3 of games and having never played a MGS game I really want to check out this series. I really can’t stand old clunky controls and mechanics though (tried Mass Effect two times, just can’t play it). Perhaps that remake later this year will be the right entry point for me.

Might this be a cast reunion?

I currently have a lot of titles on my wish list: 8. That’s about the maximum I can imagine having on there, because I can’t play more games anyway.

Death Stranding 2, obviously. Although I’ve had it for two days now without touching it. Might sound silly, but starting it almost feels too big/loaded, with the first game being one of my all time favorites. Will be playing it this afternoon though.

In the meantime I was revisiting GT7, after having finished the also great RE4 Remake.

That top 10 only makes it more painful. Some of them are good or even great games, but pretty much all old and on there for ages. The days of games such as Demon’s Souls and Returnal being added while they were hot seem to be gone.

So if I (currently not subscribed to Plus) wanted to claim NBA 2K25 and Diablo IV, without playing them anytime soon, I could subscribe for one month (€ 8,99) now, claim both games and play them whenever I resubscribe, right?

I don’t know if I’d ever do that and play them, but € 8,99 is a good price to at least have the option available.

Encouraging that real quality still finds its way to the masses without big marketing budgets.

Oh damn… Not going to read this to avoid absolutely any spoilers, but a 10/10 is very clear. I’m still in doubt what to do. I’m finishing RE4 today and have a small backlog (Bloodborne, Alan Wake trilogy and Clair Obscure) to play. My tactic was to do that first and then play DS2 once it’s in optima forma. All I want to do now is dive straight in though. Death Stranding is in my all time top 3 of games.

@thefourfoldroot1 I agree, but that’s a preference. The adoption via AAA games tells something about the popularity of the platform.

Nearing the end of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Great game! After this I might finally play Bloodborne for the first time.

@thefourfoldroot1 How many of those are AAA games though? There are quite some entertaining games for PS VR2, but apart from GT7 and both RE games there aren’t a lot of AAA among them.

I’m in the 2% of people having sold their PS VR2. I liked it, I was really impressed by the quality. For me the disadvantages were bigger though. It was too much of a hassle to set it up every time and clear the room. Besides that, it didn’t really fit well into my backlog. I like to eat chunks out of it and these are mainly games for sessions in between without actually beating the game. Besides that, it didn’t help that I’m high sensitive (HSP), this experience creates a lot of triggers for my brain.

It was nice while it lasted though. Don’t regret buying one and I sold it for an okay price.

Whaha! In all fairness, the dude was never hyping it up anyway. All he did was say “yes” to the question if he knew what was going on. If at all, Push Square was hyping up this non news.

Only just played part 1 on my Pro a few months ago. Looking forward to this one.

@PuppetMaster Yes, it baffles me. And even if it’s walking… it’s why we developed legs. What’s so intrinsically wrong with walking?

I already wondered why the internet was so excited with his simple “Yes” tweet. You could also read it as “Yes, I know something quite boring will be announced”.

Years later and people are still sharing this “walking simulator” nonsense. What does that even mean? Yes, you’re walking in the game (for big parts). What’s wrong with walking? If people mean there’s nothing to do BUT walking they’re dead wrong. You’ll definitely need tactics and skills to get through. And on the easier parts you can just enjoy the music and scenery or take some time to let the latest developments sink in (which make the story even more impressive). Again, I don’t see how that’s a negative.

Good thing they keep supporting it, but this stuff makes me not buy/play games in their first months. I have the game laying in front of me, but always have the feeling it will be better if I wait a bit longer. It shouldn’t be like that, it should actually be fulfilling to play games on launch and supporting the devs.

@Fandabidozi2025 I bought that legendary edition trilogy last year. Tried the first game twice for a little while, but couldn’t get into the old mechanics. I still feel there’s lot to discover though.

Platinumed Cyberpunk 2077. Now dived into Resident Evil 4 Remake. It almost felt like a chore, sitting on my backlog for ages, but I’m really enjoying it a lot at the moment!

“Adding value”? It’s quite easy to see there are less valuable games on there than in the beginning. They pulled people into Extra in the opening months with AAA games such as Demon’s Souls and Returnal but since then the value kept on diminishing while the prices have gone drastically up, meaning the value went down.

Definitely Death Stranding 2. I’m always running a year or so behind though, so I’m still looking forward to the likes of Stellar Blade, FF7 Rebirth, Shadow of the Erdtree, Silent Hill 2 and AC Shadows.

I guess this will be announced quite soon as a fantastic addition to PS Plus on Push Square.

Decided to go for that ultra-fast-skipping-all-dialogue extra playthrough of Cyberpunk since I missed out on platinum by one trophy after 150 hours.

Also decided to go full in on Alan Wake by buying AW Remastered, Control Ultimate Edition and AW 2 Deluxe Edition, all together for € 42 in the current sale.

All this polarization is so tiring and I think PushSquare triggers it by calling everything Sony does “brilliant”. Read the room. There’s a middle ground here and in this article on viewing numbers there’s no need at all for opinions.

For me this doesn’t work at all. It gives me the feeling PS is not entirely independent which makes me distrust the actual reviews.

@Dragon83 Do you by any chance know how doable it is to do a really quick run to only get the “The Devil” trophy? I’m still in my first run, halfway through Phantom Liberty now, but I didn’t make the save so now I’m missing platinum by one trophy.

I don’t feel like investing a lot more time, but if a few sessions on Easy with skipping all dialogue gets me platinum I want to go for it.

Somehow I still can’t really figure out what kind of game this is. I do absolutely love the slower exploration of Elden Ring, same as the first comment above. However, Returnal with all its cycles/runs is one of my all time favorite games. Is it anything like that?

And still the most important question: Is it a good single player game? Can I even play it without being subscribed to PS Plus? Will it hold for the next years, or am I dependent on the number of other players playing it at the same time?

I know I can Google these questions, but there seems to be no consensus.

After 125 hours I found out I can’t get the last Cyberpunk 2077 trophy to reach platinum because I didn’t save some guy early in the game. Oh well. Just finishing Phantom Liberty now.

After that I have a small backlog on my Pro to choose from: Expedition 33, Resident Evil 4 and Bloodborne. I also have that DS2 itch though…
