Re: Sony's Pricey PS5 Pro Is Now Being Outpaced by PS4 Pro Launch Aligned in the US

@LifeGirl It holds the most games that made a lasting impression on me. Death Stranding, Returnal and Elden Ring are all in my top 5. And lots of really great games just behind, such as Gran Turismo 7. But also PS VR2 opening up a whole new world of gaming for me. I never gamed as intensively as the last four years.

Edit: This was just on the games side. But overall I also really enjoy this generation because of the hardware. Almost non-existent loading times, the amazing dualsense with haptic feedback, 3D audio and great styling of the console itself.

Already finished TLOU Chapter 1 on my new Pro. Never could get into it before but this time it blew me away; fantastic game! Started GOW Ragnarok now, hope to finish it before my Extra runs out in 3 weeks.

The PS5 Pro rules! Never expected such a drastic increase in engagement from my part, since I’m normally blind to stuff like fps. In combination with my relatively new Neo Qled 65 inch it makes all the difference though.

Now I just have to find a disc drive for a normal price…

I wished I could contribute something positive, but I just subscribed to Extra because I haven’t found a disc drive for my PS5 Pro yet, but I’m quite shocked by the AAA catalogue compared to its first years. I hope to finish TLOU and GOW Ragnarok before the end of the month so I can stop my subscription again.

Sorry, but this list is just all over the place. Call of the Mountain in the top 10? Even Horizon fans agree it’s nothing but a tech demo. And Astro Bot on top of a sci-fi list?

I took some drastic measures yesterday when I found myself being annoyed with my never ending backlog: I sold both my Series X (despite having 1,5 years of GP left) and PS5 and used the money to buy a PS5 Pro so I can focus on only a handful of quality games at a time.

I was tossing and turning about it for months, because a lot of people say it’s a minor upgrade. All I can say while playing TLOU Part 1 on my (also quite new) Neo Qled 65” is: WOW. This is what next gen looks like. I actually never could get into this game on PS4, but it’s so breathtaking and immersive now that it has me gripped.

Since I don’t have a disc drive yet I subscribed to PS Plus Extra for now. GOW Ragnarok is next on my list, since it also has a Pro patch. Any other recommendations to witness the power of this beast?

NieR should definitely be on top. It’s emotional on so many levels. I don’t think any other game has hit me this hard.

Also just started Mass Effect LE for the first time. I hope it still has impact in 2025, even though I hold no nostalgic feelings.

Re: Some Fans Think This Smile Is Proof Avowed Is Coming to PS5

Just sold my Series X. My backlogs for both consoles were getting ridiculous and with this new Xbox strategy of not having exclusives anymore there’s no reason to own a separate console next to my PS5.

I certainly won’t miss those clicking controller buttons. PS5 controllers seem to be 10 years ahead in time.

Re: Forza Horizon 5 Confirmed for PS5, Out This Spring

@somnambulance That’s definitely not a statement you can make this easily. FH5 and GT7 are completely different games. For me, I already spend more than 100 hours with GT7 since I love sim racers, while I was bored with FH7 after one day. You’re not only comparing completely different games, but different genres (sim vs arcade racers) altogether.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida on PSVR2: 'I'm Sorry'

I don’t get the criticism. I bought it two months ago and it’s such a fantastic piece of hardware. Really made me rediscover gaming. Also, there’s loads of fun games to play on it, including games you can keep on playing long after you beat them (Puzzling Places, Pistol Whip, etc.).

Nothing but praise from me.

Finished the first Hellblade, such a good and important game. The making of video made it even more impressive. Finding my next game from the Game Pass backlog now. Gears 5 wasn’t it for me. Will probably try Redfall or Diablo IV next.

At the same time playing some Puzzling Places on my PS VR2, lovely game. I also need to keep reminding myself to continue with Call of the Mountain, but despite the visuals it’s starting to feel like a drag. I want to finish it though before I start Walkabout Mini Golf or Pistol Whip.
