When even Pushsquare doesn’t hype up the selection you know it’s REALLY bad 😅

Returned to Returnal after having almost finished it two years ago. Wanted to play something solid instead of trying out all sorts of games for my last month of PS Plus before it expires. Played Death’s Door before, good game.

I don’t really care if a game is a PS5 exclusive since it’s my go-to console anyway (because of the dualsense controller). All the interesting Xbox exclusives I play on GP and multiplatform games on my PS5.

That being said, it does feel time for a new real banger like Returnal or Death Stranding DC. My backlog for PS5 is big enough, but nothing in there feels like a GOTY.

Nope. Crap month after crap month. I feel scammed after having been lured in with AAA games such as Returnal and Demon’s Souls. (Yes, I know Essential and Extra/Premium aren’t the same thing but I judge the service as a whole.)

@GrimWillows It doesn't. But I found out it's not discounted here in the Netherlands anyway. It's still € 80...

I started Death’s Door last week and loving it. It reminds me a little bit of Hollow Knight, which also was way more addictive than you’d think at first glance.

@Th3solution Thanks for explaining. It sucks, but i’ll wait around. And it probably will be cheaper physically anyway if I buy it at the right time.

The PS Store still seems so messy and illogical. They could have just added a “Are you sure you want to buy it again?” warning instead of completely ruling it out.

I like to buy Returnal from this sale, which is currently part of my PS Plus sub which lapses in a few weeks. Does anyone know if there is a possibility to buy it anyway? Currently it says “bought” (translated from Dutch) when I click on the item.

Woah, just this afternoon I reinstalled the game after two years.

@BeerIsAwesome The whole concept of covering up female breasts is ridiculous anyway. I never heard any discussion about male torsos being shown.

@NieR_Dark Thanks! I got the same impression from the demo but thought the full game might dig deeper. I’ll definitely play it.

@NieR_Dark Good to hear (from a fellow NieR fan). Does it bring any of the emotional impact Automata had? I didn’t find it in the demo (really enjoyed it though), but that’s logical with its short length.

Deliver us Mars. I’m somewhat enjoying it, but I’m glad I didn’t buy a copy. It’s a nice inbetween game, but also very buggy plus I have an allergy for clunky controls.

Almost done now. I’ll either play …Edit Finch or Saints Row after this.

@Nepp67 Let me guess: this is only the case with female bodies? Or are male torsos being censored as well?

It looks absolutely terrible, but gameplay is way more important with these games.

What would be there to censor anyway? It’s not like you see any genitalia.

Deliver us Mars. DutM really had a grip on me, this one seems even better so far.

@AK4tywill I tried the original twice since I'm a big fan of everything from FF X, but just couldn't get into the old mechanics and graphics. I kinda liked Remake, haven't played Rebirth yet.

@AK4tywill I’d guess it would not. Back then I asked which order would be better, but the context was that I haven’t played the original VII, so everything in the remake trilogy was new to me. I’m no expert though, just saying what I was told.

@AK4tywill Don’t take my word for granted, but I was told that you shouldn’t play Crisis Core before completing 7 or the remake trilogy. It contains some big spoilers, they said.

@Toilet_Goat Fair enough. I’m not interested in indies at all, so for me the service holds no value anymore (sub’s running out).

@Toilet_Goat That would be me. What I’m looking for are AAA games such as Demon’s Souls, Returnal, Rift Apart, Death Stranding DC etc. we used to get in the past. Compared to that every month is poor nowadays.

I understand if this is not a durable strategy, but in that case they gave of the wrong signal in the past. Especially after the extreme price raise last year you’d expect they would continue this strategy. We only get a lot less for a lot more money though.

Finished Demon’s Souls and I loved it! Never thought I’d be able to say this, but Elden Ring really opened this genre for me.

Now I’m playing the Stellar Blade demo. After half an hour it’s clear this will be an instant buy. Next I’ll either try Death’s Door or SW Jedi: Fallen Order.

We’re long past the stage to call these bad months. It’s just become a bad service. Might be playing Deliver Us Mars, but that doesn’t make up for it.

At least I’m enjoying the hell out of Demon’s Souls currently. Reminds me about the days this service was actually good.

Games are not expensive at all though. 20 years ago they were cheaper, but not as much as you’d expect after two decades of inflation.

Honestly, I just don't see the difference.

@Carrnage If diverse games such as Demon’s Souls, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Final Fantasy XVI, Rift Apart and the brilliant Returnal all don’t speak to you, then that’s a bummer. But you can’t say that there aren’t any good PS5 exclusives out there. I agree there could be more by now though.

@Frmknst What are games you would compare it to? Without having played the demo yet only NieR springs to mind.

Nothing but Demon's Souls for me. Never thought I'd get hooked this much. I already adored Elden Ring, so I'll probably play Boodborne and the Dark Souls Trilogy as well.

I was on the fence right after release because of the limited single player mode, but 2 years later it’s nothing short of phenomenal. I’m 200 hours in now and still haven’t touched all single player content.

Tell no more, I’m definitely sold now! I was planning on not buying anything in the coming months because of my huge backlog, but I’ll probably make an exception for this one if it doesn’t have too many bugs at launch.

@Gamer83 It's cheaper as a physical release though, plus you can sell your physical copy when you've finished the game.

I hardly ever see anything interesting in these overhyped digital sales.

I’d buy it if my PS5 would break down, to be set for the coming years. Otherwise I see no point.

Normally I'm not into demos and want to dive right into the real thing, but with Stellar Blade I'm dying to see if it has the same kind of feeling as NieR:automata.

I feel like I’m the only one that didn’t even know the series existed. Might look into it if it’s really that good. It looks a bit The Witcher-y from what I’ve seen?

Totally off-topic, but for those interested in PSVR2 - it’s 22% off at Amazon.nl as we speak (€ 468).

I quit my “have to play all these games before PS Plus expires in July” mission and am instead focussing solely on Demon’s Souls. I tried it once before, but couldn’t get the hang of it and quit out of frustration of constantly dying.

Now, after I finished Elden Ring two years ago, suddenly everything clicks. I’m focussing on getting something out of a run (opening a door, gathering souls, upgrading a weapon etc) and see dying as part of it all. Makes it so much more fun. Great game!

@BeerIsAwesome You know that Zverev is a current top 5 player and that Wawrinka is still reaching final rounds on big tournaments? Also, the disrespect towards the greatest player of all time is unnecessary.

Ah well, you wouldn’t recognize them anyway with these character models.

Tried it for 15 minutes on my Series X, but knew immediately I was never going to enjoy this.

Nothing interesting once again when you already have Game Pass.

Develop Death Stranding 2 in VR and I'll buy one.
