Elden Ring's PS5, PS4 Launch Trailer Is Mesmerising

Very exciting indeed. Won't be watching the trailer though as I want to go in almost completely blind!

Definitely looking forward to this, although I'll be on PC. Looking forward to forbidden west too - decided to pre-order Elden ring instead purely because it's cheaper, and I'll wait for a sale on HFW (it's already £5 cheaper at Argos, for both versions - and £55 for PS4 and £60 for PS5 versions at Tesco)

If you don't like the formula already, I don't think this one is gonna change your mind? Or is that just me? The little bit of story looks cool though

When can we expect a review given the review embargo context? Prefer to wait for reviews here however long it takes haha.

I can't get through the games I have quick enough to even be able to play this Friday. Haha.
Scratched the surface of FW and I've already started CP2077, so ideally I'd like to finish those first. But once those are done, this is on my radar.

@themightyant pesonally I'll probably be getting it from Argos. Not out of brand loyalty or anything - I'm part of a market research group that I get around £10 a month for, not in cash but redeemable for various products on their partner site, and one of these products is vouchers. The easiest way I've found to convert this into gaming money is to redeem it on Argos vouchers. I only actually spent about £10 cash on Elden Ring (and it feels a little strange to be getting a physical edition for PC - but the box will only contain the physical launch edition fluff, it's still a steam key)

I think I can technically spend it at Currys too, but only if I claim Love2shop vouchers, and it involves going into the store whereas Argos are happy to take my online buisness

(I know you can buy from Curry's online - it's the vouchers they only take in-store, at least they did when I last checked)

I don't think the engine is the last word in Tech, but they have such a consistent and good style to their art assets that the title looks great anyway, and I very much like that they have come up with loads of new ideas.
I'm not normally a 'souls type' player, but this looks like it has something for me and I want to dive in. I'll probably wait 6 months and pick it up cheap as I'm hooked on HFW, and super hyped to get GT7, so it will have to wait.
For people who love souls games, this probably gives them an inappropriate trouser twitch!

@CthulhuFhtagn I really hope FromSoft have sorted outtheir server issues before Friday- Playstation users haven't been affected but anyone playing any Dark Souls game on Steam has been completely without any of the multiplayer features for a month or so (I mean, some people have set up private servers but that seems too much effort to me). I can approach a tiny gap between a pillar and a wall without fear of reading "fatty!" and holes in the floor aren't constant being accused of being "giant but" - it's just not the same

Definitely hyped despite the dated visuals and reused art style/direction, assets, and animations.can't help it I'm addicted to the difficulty/ consequence aspect that most games simply lack now in favor of glorified walking simulators/playing a b movie.

Even if certain innovations in the formula would really make these games far better and more accessible.

Another great video. So hyped. Only issue is I keep switching what I'll play as based on the latest videos I watch. Was prisoner, now maybe confessor and instead of dex int I'll go straight faith. Lol so many choices

Since I just got my hands on a PS5, I will probably start with Demons Souls first, because I am afraid I can never go back to that if I play Elden Ring now.

This looks great but I’m way too into HFW to pick this up. Plus, it’s hard for me to find time for any Souls style game these days. I’ll probably wait for a good sale for this one, but I’m excited for those who are hyped about it.
