@Beerheadgamer82 what, are the rest of your corners wet? 😂
In all seriousness, these are words to live by. I’ve bought lots of digital music but if I really truly like an album enough, I’ll burn it lossless add it to my “favorites” or just flat outright buy the CD. I’m supporting artists I love and also future proofing sort of.
This all-digital stuff is so anti consumer and out of principle I won’t support it if I’m able to.
Elden Ring utterly devoured my life when it came out. Stayed up way too late on work nights, ignored life responsibilities, didn’t know how to act in public around those who weren’t playing it, fought tooth and nail to conquer beasts…. Then one day I beat it…
I need more of that in my life. Give me more content!!!!!
When we start getting more PS5 exclusives (and when devs really start optimizing) that’s when I’ll even acknowledge it. Right now it sounds like a joke to even consider releasing a pro version of a system that still feels like it’s in its infancy.
Definitely sorry for everyone that was looking forward to it but I was not one of them. I’m not a multiplayer gamer and I am definitely not a live service gamer. I would rather watch the TV series and play single player games. I agree though it should have been a mode n TLOU2 if anything, not a fully fledged standalone thing. That could please everyone at the end of the day.
Wouldn't it be some funny turn of events if Microsoft's Xbox team is doing all the hacking to try and stifle Sony's PS5 successes in literally crushing Xbox? I DO NOT condone hacking like this and I think this is really sh*tty, especially this studio who delivers true quality games. But in a comical sense, that would be hilarious.
Silent Hill 2 Remake (I understand why it isn't listed but IT'S GOT TO RELEASE in 2024, right...? RIGHT? RIGHT!?!?!?)
Other than that.. I have some others I hope release in 2024: Luto Small Saga Metal Bringer Post Trauma Plucky Squire (crap I forgot to vote for this one 😩 )
I’m only maybe 1/8 or 1/4 into the game I think but it’s so damn good so far. Master-class in storytelling, detail, and gameplay. Good to know I have this to also look forward to after! I’ll be playing through Control first before I go for new game+ with this though.
I had no idea this was a widespread issue! I FINALLY bought Gotham Knight late afternoon on Thursday and it would not download. I tried again this morning around 9am and it was still failing. I’ll give it another try shortly but that’s definitely more than 5-6 hours.
I wasn’t aware it was missing this setting and thankfully I hadn’t bought it yet. If I bought this and found out it was missing the invert control setting I’d have stopped playing immediately.
I hated Ascension, then decided to give it a shot, and once I saw about 2 minutes of it and the atrocious UI for the "game" I was out of there quicker than this berry dude.
Great concept for a game but this is not something you should be doing with Silent Hill. Don't mix oil and water. Someone who actually knows AND CARES about the Silent Hill franchise would've understood that before even pitching this idea in the first place, never mind green-lighting it.
I know this news is like an incendiary grenade to some but I for one am excited. I just don’t know how much better it’s going to look/be. The base PS4 version looked insane. Then there was the PS5 upgrade. Now there’s the ps5 ps5 version. It’s a confusing thing as a blind consumer but… yeah I’ll be playing it again, amazing game…
Too expensive for me personally. I’d honestly rather spend the $200 on a used 3DS or second Switch. I’m glad it reviewed well though- it looks comfy AF.
I had NO CLUE this was releasing now or so soon. Hell I had no idea when it was releasing, all I know is it was on my wishlist.
I remember this being showcased in the state of play I think and I fell in love. So happy this did well! I’m buying it this weekend. SO. MANY. GAMES. TO. PLAY.
After seeing what they allowed with SH: Ascension, I dunno. Really scary stuff and I don’t mean the “gameplay” — more like the microtransactions and just non-Silent Hill vibe of it.
Second, I played through and beat MGS 2 on the new collection and you can see some glitches… the bugs on the floor were missing in the cutscene with Fortune, the flag is missing from the flag post at the end with Solidus, and the colonel’s voice (so obviously overdubbed by someone other than the colonel) when he tells you the swimming controls are all effed up. These are things that needed polishing before release on a modern console.
Otherwise solid experience…
Point being, Konami needs to get their act in gear if they wanna start sticking their nose back in our wallets.
Loving the game so far. Absolutely LOVING it. The things I’ve noticed on PS5 are:
-In replays, headlights and their light output aren’t on for the beginning of the race for some reason. It’s like there’s a delay before they are rendered. One instance lasted a good 15 seconds into the replay before lights came on.
-framerate hiccups, nothing major but there were a few “moments”. About 7 races and it happened twice. This includes lots of screen tearing.
-I wish you could preview the co-driver voice before you select it. “Voice 1” “Voice 2” etc is not helpful at all. You can only hear what it sounds like when you’re in a race which is crazy unless I’m missing something
That’s all so far! Game is definitely the best rally game in the past few years. Feels completely fresh and I love the audio: music, pre-race banter, pace notes.
@Flaming_Kaiser Elden Ring and George R R Martin, and all Dark Souls games would like word with you. Sometimes vagueness, when done correctly, can ignite locked-away parts of your brain.
This speaks volumes to how badly anticipated this remake is. People fabricating stories and assuming.
And.. how much pressure is on Bloober. Godspeed, Bloober dudes and dudettes. I for one cannot wait. I luckily have an original PS2 copy to fall back on if things just don't work out but I have faith we're in for a real treat. I really hope we get this no later than Q1 2024.
Reeeaaaallllyyyy (rally) hoping this lives up to the hype! It’s looking great and it’s just around the hairpin (right).
My one big complaint with generations was the post-race ghost uploading times. I hate sitting there while it uploads times to the server that I could give a rats behind about. I’ve resorted to shutting wi-fi completely off on my console when playing generations and when I do, I can hop right into the next race almost instantly. Otherwise it takes a good 15 seconds of sitting there just waiting. Sometimes it even freezes… it’s annoying mostly. Hope this does away with it or makes it an option to upload ghost saves!
W.t.f. Honestly was highly considering buying this game because I’ve basically skipped every single one since the first Modern Warfare with the cool sniper ghili suits Russia level. Been wanting to get back in because these games remind me of the holidays and I was feeling nostalgic. But now knowing I have to download an 89GB launcher? Why do I need to download a bloated launcher to launch something that has historically been able to launch itself from my system’s Home Screen icon? This is absurd. I just finally bit the bullet and got a 2TB SSD and I’m not about to waste space on this crap.
I’m very grateful for the continued support on this game but adding new cars is not keeping me engaged personally. I’d like some more single player stuff (akin to GT3) and more tracks. I think things to do are more important than things to look at.
I think it looks great but it’s weird having these graphics but not having a more open world. This kind of area/level/section thing going on with 3 worked on PS2 due to the console limitations but it’s going to be weird with these next gen graphics. Like everything will look so real but you won’t be able to walk on it or interact with it. I’m not saying this or all games need to be open world but it’ll be strange. I wonder if they’ll make it so that every area flows seamlessly into the next without the transition screens. Maybe the area name just pops up onscreen.
I also think the game looks like a fan-made tech demo. Like the Super Mario 64 what-if Unreal engine trailers. It also weird without Kojima…
I’m going to watch this closely and I’ll probably buy it but it intrinsically feels wrong, me being a huge Kojima fan.
The game looks fantastic but it also strikes me with the awkwardness of some random on the internet putting together a "what-if" Unreal engine trailer. Kind of like those Ocarina of Time Unreal engine what-ifs. I think seeing snake's face with those graphics. I don't quite understand what makes it feel that way yet. Maybe it's just because Kojima is not involved. It's like a Naughty Dog game coming out not made by Naughty Dog. It's like bizzaro Jerry.
I’m glad they kept the games as they were originally made and presented. An option to improve things would've been cool no doubt but I’d have turned it off anyway. The confusing presentation doesn’t sound cool but all else is good with me! There’s an article/interview with Kojima out there somewhere about the controls for MGS. They were specifically designed around not wanting to have too many buttons and not being confusing and the like. The controls were never a problem for me but I’m also someone who grew up with it. Can’t say it’ll be an easy transition for newcomers but still, they’re not as bad as they’re made out to be. Can’t wait to play this again in a few days!
This is one of my most anticipated games this year. Am I setting myself up for failure?
It certainly looks to be awesome so I hope it delivers! The more I’m playing WRC generations the more I’m getting annoyed at small things that I hope are not present in this new one: -Co-driver voice keeps switching back to Male even though I keep changing it back to Female. -Some of the pace notes are garbage. -Audio quality inconsistencies in the pace notes (female)-some are clearer than others and the change is jarring when happening back to back. -I’d like the ability to have the replays not in 60fps. Gameplay at 60 and replays lower and with ray tracing for more cinematic feel.
Maybe a few others but if we fix at least those I’ll be happy with all else!
what is this grAPHICAL STYLE AND HOLY CRAP THIS LOOKS GOOD!! I think this nails a delicious balance between PS1/DS but also current gen. Looks like Pokémon on DS but also sharper and can provide more sprites on screen and be more fluid. Plus, those reflections... I love it. This is as striking as Square's Octopath-style engine.. really neat stuff here!
I was kind of ragging on it behind the scenes joining in the hateorade gang but honestly, it could be fun. I agree it feels like a dark pictures game with silent hill branding slapped on but it could work. I downloaded the app tonight and I kind of had a change of heart. I’ll try it, I always was going to.
That being said I’d rather we just got the 2 remake than this. I can’t wait for that.
Anyone else have a hunch that Konami are waiting to see what happens with Ascension’s story outcomes so they can tie it into the 2 remake? Sort of trying to create a universe of sorts… The tagline “shape silent hill canon forever” makes me think that. This also gives more hints to a release timeline for the 2 remake.
For me, Elden Ring DLC takes precedence on that list. FF7 is the only other one I’d consider without doing research on the others. I suppose Alone in the Dark may be a contender but I know nothing about this new entry, so…
I dunno how ya'll feel about it after seeing the video but I. AM. STOOOOKKKEEEDDDD. I can see some vast improvements over WRC Generations and 10. Those are great games in their own way but this looks to have improved even more, specifically the replays and the way the cars appear to move about and less "floaty." I've been playing Generations to get ready for this and the wait just became a whole lot harder for me... The car creation looks DEEP and the video at the ~6:14 mark had me questioning if it was real footage or gameplay. Finally, realistic dust trails.
@Grimwood I'll admit I'm a bit out of the loop with probably more than I'd like to admit. I did forget to mention MGS Collection, Alan Wake 2, and Turok 3. Outside of all those I'm just not really following any other games or planning to get any others. I'm really burnt out on open world games so Spider-Man 2 is out of the question for me. I really never got into the first despite fully realizing that game is oozing quality, care, and love. Someday maybe... I'd say that's pretty solid list though if I even actually buy all of them before the end of the year: -Silent Hill 2 remake (?) -Death Stranding 2 (?) -WRC (November) -Alan Wake 2 (October) -Metal Gear Solid Collection (October) -Turok 3 (November)
I sort of want Call of Duty as well because I haven't played one of those campaigns in YEARS. I'm sort of itching for that again but can't bring myself to spend the money... That's a me problem though.
I'm looking forward to Silent Hill 2 remake, Death Stranding 2, the new WRC and .... and..... well, I can't think of anything else at the moment. No idea when 2 of those are releasing though. Could use a state of play, send help.
@AdamNovice THANK YOU… seriously this whole 60fps thing is getting real old. If Konami messed with the original content you’d have fans screaming that they are hating on Kojima and p*sing on his legacy. On the flip side, Konami doesn’t touch the games and releases them properly as originally intended and you all still hate on them. You really can’t win. I’m happy the route they went.
The first (PS1) game ran at 30, it’s releasing at 30. The second and third (PS2) games ran at 60, it’s releasing at 60. What else do you want, you’re getting the original games how they were designed to be played.
If they were adding in a bunch of other things in these games like rewind, up scaling, graphical overhauls, etc. then it would make sense to tweak the fps. These are straight ports of cherished games, from the original publisher, that’s it.
holy moly this is looking amazing. I'm over here salivating... Yes, some of the effects still look "off" and stuff but overall very very good.
There were a few times when I actually had to double-take and say, "Wait, was that real footage or from the game?"
I hope there is a way to have replays in 30 fps (preferably 24!) and gameplay at 60.
The smoothness of the replays is great but it also detracts from the cinematic feel.
I'm done rambling — I can't wait for this. I'm already preordered and ready to go!
Only fighting games that ever clicked for me were smash bros and soul caliber.
Mortal Kombat’s controls never clicked for me.. never understood how to successfully input ⬇️A⬆️⬇️BB⬆️➡️↘️C↖️↙️↙️↙️ perfectly every time. I just don’t get it, the controls on most fighting games are too difficult for me.
I’m 8/10 hyped. The extra 2 points would’ve been added for some extra gameplay showing… actual gameplay instead of just snazzy ultra-controlled-environment replays.
Either way I’m going to preorder. VERY excited! Those dust trails look next-gen. I wonder if we’ll hear the co-driver voices stuttering as we hit bumpy terrain. That would be immersive and amazing…
Frankly, I’m stoked for this news.
The things I’m looking forward to are better dust trails (the teaser above looks pretty solid) and I’d also love for your co-driver’s voice to sort of stutter a bit as you hit bumps or go over rocky roads. Those two things would make these games feel truly next-gen.
I wasn’t a fan of the team management stuff and largely ignored it in the last 2-3 entries. I understand why it was included and it felt like a natural progression for the series but because I was able to ignore it and it wasn’t forced I feel like it was otherwise executed properly.
I just want a rally game focused on driving and improving my skills with hyper-realistic physics without any extra fluff.
My only complaint is with wrc generations where the co-driver spoke way too slow or the cars were way too fast. Some of the tracks were so technical and quick that I’d be mid-turn and the driver was only just staring to speak the pace note. Sort of ruined the game for me. 10 was perfect otherwise.
Things are just too expensive these days. That’s my reason. I can’t justify buying this thing that runs off technology that I’ve personally witnessed having mass amounts of lag and glitches. Playing games like Elden Ring and even Dark Souls that require accurate inputs are just not fun on the technology. I don’t have a need for this thing so it goes to my do not buy list.
Ok, I'll just let it out: This is stupid. Yes, I will just outright avoid buying it or paying for it and let those who want it, enjoy it. But I'll be damned if I'm not gonna scream this on the way down! Get off my lawn! Squeeze the toothpaste from the end, not the middle! :: shaking fist ::
Cool to see the first one was well-received… I fired up the demo and like 2 minutes in I saw a girl in a bathtub with cringey boobs that looked like they were designed by a 5 year old and were clearly meant to be attention-getting. Like it just seemed unnecessary and stupid. Maybe I’ll try it again
Without having played the game (yet) and setting my own expectations, I am hoping for Ace Combat 7 but with mechs. I want the epic battles, well-done radio chatter, explosions…. You get it I’m sure. It sounds like there will be smaller bites from the Ace Combat 7 buffet which isn’t really a bad thing. Can’t wait to play it! I think everyone was hoping for the first 10/10 mech game.
I think maybe we all get caught up in this online world and assume lots of folks are there with us. Really though, those other folks just see Red Dead released and they go "Oh wow!" and click buy without even researching.
If I ever buy this, it'll be on sale. As someone who never played the game, I think $50 is somewhat fair but I won't buy it on principle just because more could have been done to this to make it a proper release on current-get hardware. This is the definition of lazy port. I think if it were cheaper, people wouldn't have been so harsh.

Re: Rumour: PS5's Early 2024 Release Schedule May Get Even More Ridiculous Thanks to Elden Ring
For me, Elden Ring DLC takes precedence on that list. FF7 is the only other one I’d consider without doing research on the others. I suppose Alone in the Dark may be a contender but I know nothing about this new entry, so…
Re: Chequered Flag for Gran Turismo Sport as Online Services Shut Down in January 2024
@Bentleyma maybe Sony ought to remove it from the store altogether or reduce the price to $1 or equivalent then.
Re: EA Sports WRC Outlines Modes and Features in Latest Video
I dunno how ya'll feel about it after seeing the video but I. AM. STOOOOKKKEEEDDDD.
I can see some vast improvements over WRC Generations and 10. Those are great games in their own way but this looks to have improved even more, specifically the replays and the way the cars appear to move about and less "floaty."
I've been playing Generations to get ready for this and the wait just became a whole lot harder for me... The car creation looks DEEP and the video at the ~6:14 mark had me questioning if it was real footage or gameplay. Finally, realistic dust trails.
Re: Rumour: State of Play Incoming? Death Stranding 2 Dev Photo Seems to Suggest Showcase
I'd say that's pretty solid list though if I even actually buy all of them before the end of the year:
-Silent Hill 2 remake (?)
-Death Stranding 2 (?)
-WRC (November)
-Alan Wake 2 (October)
-Metal Gear Solid Collection (October)
-Turok 3 (November)
I sort of want Call of Duty as well because I haven't played one of those campaigns in YEARS. I'm sort of itching for that again but can't bring myself to spend the money... That's a me problem though.
Re: Rumour: State of Play Incoming? Death Stranding 2 Dev Photo Seems to Suggest Showcase
I'm looking forward to Silent Hill 2 remake, Death Stranding 2, the new WRC and .... and..... well, I can't think of anything else at the moment. No idea when 2 of those are releasing though. Could use a state of play, send help.
Re: Metal Gear Solid Locked at 30fps in PS5, PS4 Master Collection
Re: EA Sports WRC Video Gives Us Our First Good Look at Gameplay
holy moly this is looking amazing.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Mortal Kombat 1?
Only fighting games that ever clicked for me were smash bros and soul caliber.
Mortal Kombat’s controls never clicked for me.. never understood how to successfully input ⬇️A⬆️⬇️BB⬆️➡️↘️C↖️↙️↙️↙️ perfectly every time. I just don’t get it, the controls on most fighting games are too difficult for me.
Re: EA Sports WRC Takes Rallying 'Next-Gen' on PS5 This November
I’m 8/10 hyped. The extra 2 points would’ve been added for some extra gameplay showing… actual gameplay instead of just snazzy ultra-controlled-environment replays.
Either way I’m going to preorder. VERY excited! Those dust trails look next-gen. I wonder if we’ll hear the co-driver voices stuttering as we hit bumpy terrain. That would be immersive and amazing…
Re: The First Official WRC Rally Racer from EA Sports Is Finally Unveiled Tomorrow
Re: PS5 Fans Divided on PlayStation Portal Handheld
Things are just too expensive these days. That’s my reason. I can’t justify buying this thing that runs off technology that I’ve personally witnessed having mass amounts of lag and glitches. Playing games like Elden Ring and even Dark Souls that require accurate inputs are just not fun on the technology.
I don’t have a need for this thing so it goes to my do not buy list.
Re: Lara Croft Joins Call of Duty Next Month, 21 Savage and Mace Too
Ok, I'll just let it out: This is stupid.
Yes, I will just outright avoid buying it or paying for it and let those who want it, enjoy it.
But I'll be damned if I'm not gonna scream this on the way down! Get off my lawn! Squeeze the toothpaste from the end, not the middle! :: shaking fist ::
Re: Survival Horror Sequel Tormented Souls 2 Announced for PS5
@Toothball it actually does indeed sound right up my alley haha
That settles it then… I’m going to give it another go.
Re: Survival Horror Sequel Tormented Souls 2 Announced for PS5
Cool to see the first one was well-received… I fired up the demo and like 2 minutes in I saw a girl in a bathtub with cringey boobs that looked like they were designed by a 5 year old and were clearly meant to be attention-getting. Like it just seemed unnecessary and stupid.
Maybe I’ll try it again
Re: Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (PS5) - Great Mecha Action at Times Feels Stunted
Re: Dark Fantasy Side-Scroller Mandragora Storms onto PS5 in 2024
This looks awesome! I too am glad we're getting another game that looks and plays like Shadow Complex.
Re: Poll: What PS5 Game Do You Most Want to See at Gamescom Opening Night Live?
Uuuhhhh…. why is silent hill 2 not on this list?
Re: Red Dead Redemption PS4 Trends on PS Store as $50 Port Attracts a Lot of Attention
