Re: New Death Stranding 2 Updates and Details Coming Next Month

ChromaticDracula

Let’s goooooooo!!!!
I can’t wait… I want to know more but I don’t want there to be spoiler-y stuff. Kojima is usually pretty good about not giving away key plot points and keeping pretty much all the mystery intact.
I need another set of hands and eyes so I can keep playing the first one but also make a dent in my backlog. The first one for me is infinitely playable.

Re: Death Stranding 2 Edges Closer to PS5 Release with New Age Rating

ChromaticDracula

I’ve always wanted to do it but never have: I’m going to take off a day or two of work when this releases. I cannot wait to play this! I was and still generally am obsessed with the first one. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the story and what technology/cool tools and gadgets will be available for use.

My body is parcels are ready!

Re: Death Stranding 2: Everything We Know So Far

ChromaticDracula

I’ll offer something different:
Kojima is creative, pushes boundaries, has insane attention to detail, and is genuinely one of the only talented visions in the game industry these days. I can play tons of other games that I shoot people and they fall and I loot bodies, etc. I appreciate his offering of something different in this shooter/Ubisoft-open-world/metroidvania/turn-based/dialogue box filled landscape.
This is currently my most hyped game at this point in time. Alongside that on the same list is Dragonyhm, Petal Runner, The Transylvania Adventure Of Simon Quest, Twilight Bastion… a few others.

The first game was great as it unfolded and we learned the story and plot and there were a lot of points where I was like “WTF JUST HAPPENED.” Genuinely confused sometimes but always realizing what was going on. Very interesting, on-brand Kojima stuff.
I can’t say I have that excited reaction for many other games.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws (PS5) - Open World Pledge Produces a Superficial Space Outing

ChromaticDracula

I just got the game, December 2024, and it’s phenomenal. I’m enjoying it so much! Easily my favorite Star Wars game since shadows of the empire.
The sound design is great and I actually feel like I’m playing in the Star Wars universe. I heard the game was rough when it released but I’ve yet to encounter any weird moments that took me out of the experience, I suppose after many updates. It’s feeling like my big blockbuster holiday game of 2024 ✌️

Re: PlayStation Joins Social Media Shift as Bluesky Rockets in Popularity

ChromaticDracula

@The_Wailing_Doom biggest feature for me is the REAL TIMELINE!
I too got rid of Twitter once Elon (which I pronounce “Ellen” 😁) took over.

Bluesky has been great to me! There were few deals accounts I was following on Twitter that I no longer had an eye on after leaving the platform. Luckily most have accounts on Bluesky so I’m back in action again.

Re: Sublime PS5, PC Remake Silent Hill 2 Tops One Million Sales

ChromaticDracula

I can see them doing 3 next since it takes place in the same regions of 2 (not saying this is a bad thing but re-using assets and environments would be smart from a business perspective). If I could pick though, 1 would be the one that “needs” a remake if any. 1 has its own charm with the distorted visuals and stuff and I love that but it would be great to see it on the same level as 2 now.
I just got to the “3rd level” in SH2 and it’s by far the creepiest, anxiety inducing game I’ve ever played. Highly recommend playing with headphones plugged into the control. If you think the graphics and taptics are given attention to detail, good god the sound is on another level of immersion; immaculate!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Silent Hill 2?

ChromaticDracula

I have no clue how some of you played through already and even one or two of you even played through 4... that's right, 4 times!!
I started on launch day and I just only finished the hospital. Granted, I am scouring every nook and cranny because I'm loving the memories you come across and finding extra ammo and health has saved my butt. I'm playing on Normal for combat and puzzles and I am finding myself dying quite often and really trying to conserve health and ammo. I'm finally getting the hang of enemy attack patterns. Some of the enemies just tank through my attacks and I get punished dark souls style which is on me I know but... It's tough for me, I'll say that much.
I guess I got bad at games over the years haha...

Re: As Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Explodes, Bandai Namco Is Reportedly Cutting Staff and Projects

ChromaticDracula

By the article, companies bolstered up the work force during the height of the pandemic so they hired all these people. Everything grew proportional. Now they're shaving off the excess they hired because the height is over...
Sounds like these companies --Bandai Namco-- also need to taper down their expectations. The demand is not down, it just might be down in comparison to when everyone was staying home and gaming. Their expectations can't stay inflated like they were during the height. What nonsense. All I hear is greed and it blows my mind how easily things are considered "a flop" nowadays.

Re: Sony's Porting PS2 Horror Siren to Its New PS5, PS4 Emulator

ChromaticDracula

@Loamy I fought pyramid head last night in the remake and clinched the entire time. Was dreadfully scared in the lead up to that fight. I feel like I can’t get comfortable with the mechanics and that keeps it feeling fresh constantly. Genuinely didn’t know what to expect in that fight. Pleasantly surprised. I love it so much.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Silent Hill 2?

ChromaticDracula

I have a huge backlog. See, what I did was just take one arm and swish the entire lot off the table and now I just have this one game sitting there: Silent Hill 2. It's so good so far! I hate to compare it to Alan Wake 2 but I'm enjoying it much more than that. They're both over-the-shoulder horror games and so that's why. Alan Wake 2's scale is massive whereas Silent Hill 2 is more concise and not as daunting going on item hunts, at least so far.

I'm a huge fan of the original as well so maybe I'm biased but for anyone the fence, it's truly great so far. NICE JOB, BLOOBER + KONAMI!!!

Re: Sony Appears to Leak Many Games from State of Play

ChromaticDracula

Im trying hard to think of a few reasons why they would be announcing — talking about — games that are already out. I've only thought of 2 and they're not exciting, and may even be considered bad:
Either there is DLC coming for the games listed, or;
They are choosing to leave all the folks who purchased a PS5 thinking we were getting a next-gen console behind and focus on this PS5 Pro which was probably supposed to be the console that released in place of the standard PS5.

This is ridiculous. Like @Gaia093 said above, glad Shredder's Revenge is getting an upgrade... It's insane to think they expected us to play it in its current state. This is exactly what I was talking about in some of my previous posts: Why do we need a "pro" system when we are playing games with pixel graphics? Outside of tiny graphical bumps, what else is there to improve? Load times? Wasn't the standard PS5 supposed to be like a front-runner for quick load times?

Ya'll, I'm real sour since the announcement of the Pro, if you can't tell.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

ChromaticDracula

Don't forget folks, it's only going to be the AAA publishers who are really utilizing all these features. If you're playing games like that new Castlevania collection, or Slave Zero X, or Shin Megami Tensei, etc. what the hell is the point?
It takes massive budgets to make those graphically heavy games and those are usually the ones on the chopping block in all the articles recently. This whole thing, pricing, the improvements, it's all so stupid all around.

Re: PS5 Pro Announced, Costs $700 and Out in November

ChromaticDracula

@devil76 Yeah it's honestly wild to think about... Prices are on the rise for everything and it's really hard to justify what I won't even call a convenience upgrade.
...that being said, speaking of VR2, I'm kicking myself for not getting VR2 while it was on that recent big sale.

Re: PS5 Pro Announced, Costs $700 and Out in November

ChromaticDracula

Enjoy it, folks.
Just like Apple having the gall to release that new VR headset at that outrageous price in this economical climate, here comes Sony with this now . Who can afford these things?
I consider myself well off but there is no way in hell even I can afford this, and even if I could, it’s be really hard to even justify it. The PS5 is perfectly fine as is. I’m actually a bit disgusted.
