Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 476

CaptD

@Vacuumator It is solo only, no support for coop.
I'm playing with the Moves as I don't have an Aim controller, it works very well with the Moves...minimal issues. I have heard the Aim support is very good as well.
I am using the dual shock to drive though and the game handles the use of using different controllers with no issues at all.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 476

CaptD

Playing Borderlands 2 VR, I put off buying it for so long because of reported issues but I'm not experiencing those. All in all a great port and lots of fun.
Also Ghostwire Tokyo and perhaps Grid Legends.

@Vacuumator I had no idea that Shadows of the damned was such a collectors item. I have a copy of that, I'm sure I only paid a few quid for it. The last PS3 game that I found out was worth something was 3D dot game heroes.

Re: $70 Games Could Be Hurting PS5, PS4 Sales, But There's More to the Story

CaptD

It would be interesting to see the sales drop as a percentage for both US and UK/EU because whilst in America the price 'only' went up by $10 in the U.K./EU they seemed to jump £20/€20 (not sure exactly about the EU as I'm in the U.K. but that what comments on forum would have me believe).
However tbh we all seem to have massive backlogs so the waiting game is easier these days. 😜

Re: Microsoft Goes Scorched Earth Over UK's Activision Buyout Block

CaptD

Brad and Bobby have both seemed to be a bit irrational and unstable during this whole affair and to think I thought the crazy Takes would come from their rabid YouTube fanbase.
Where is Phil in all of this? Clearly locked away from the media for fear of saying something really crazy?! 😂

Re: PSVR2 Sales May Actually Be Stronger Than Has Been Suggested

CaptD

@colonelkilgore Indeed, negativity gets the clicks.
When the original Bloomberg estimate was released I didn't think 270k was too bad, i reckon it amounts to roughly 1% of the PS5 user base. I'm sure there was a much larger PS4 user base when the original psvr unit was released which makes the 270k even more impressive imo.

Re: Vampire FPS Redfall Was in Development for PS5, But Was Canned After Xbox Buyout

CaptD

@Jaz007 The Psvr aspect is what saddens me the most about Bethesda as they were quite a prolific Vr developer.
Also a big fan and supporter of Arkane and have played all their games in the PS3 and on generations (platted them all).

Oh well there are more games than ever these days and my backlog is massive so I won't be losing too much sleep, except for those Vr titles. Imagine Starfield in Vr, assuming they could get the fps high enough. 🤔
As for Activision, $69b and Xbox gamers won't be getting any more titles than they wouldn't have gotten anyway. If I was on team green that would really grind my gears. 😂

Re: The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution (PSVR2) - Great Game, Sinful Name

CaptD

Nice review and I'm hearing good things about how well the psvr2 runs compared to high end PCs, bodes well for PSVR2 going forward. (Assumption, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that).

@StylesT I would suggest getting the bundle (£17 more or a £10ish upgrade if you have PS+ version, free if you have tourist edition) and play the first one. Nb. I've yet to play SandS 2 but the story continues.

Re: These 9 PS5, PS4 Games Are Leaving PS Plus in March

CaptD

@gaia093 I recently completed Ghost of a tale and it wasn't too bad, there are a few missables but just read a guide and it won't be an issue. However you do need to avoid being hit or seen but once you get a certain item the seen aspect goes mostly out of the window. I recommend the game, if that means anything. 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 467

CaptD

I'm playing Outriders on PS++, it is surprisingly good.

@dschons A Resistance trilogy on PSVR2 (& flat) would be great. Imagine ducking from the land mines, or popping behind a shield and the awesomeness of the X-ray gun. So good and I can't believe they haven't done it as it would surely sell well, I do wonder at Sony sometimes.
Also do Killzone and Motorstorm while they are at it.

Re: PSVR2 Version Confirmed for Lemmings-Like Puzzler Tin Hearts

CaptD

@riceNpea Well I waited for re8 and I love the resident evil series but after playing re7 (first playthrough) I just knew I had to wait.
Gt7 is something I would play in Vr but I'm a bit meh about it flat but tbh that goes for all racing games flat after playing Vr wipeout and dirt rally. (Sony give us Motorstorm trilogy vr).
So yeah I am definitely someone who waits even if they would play the game flat but them again I am odd so perhaps it is a rarity.

Re: PSVR2 Version Confirmed for Lemmings-Like Puzzler Tin Hearts

CaptD

Nice especially as I liked the look of the flat version.
You have to wonder what VR does to day one sales as I'm delaying purchase of Gt7, Re8, re4 and now Tin hearts until I get a headset. This also applies to some "mmm I can see Vr happening" titles like Atomic hearts for example (and gt7,re8 in the past as those were obvious Vr titles).
But I guess Vr is so niche at the moment that it probably doesn't factor into the sales figures.

Re: Xbox on Charm Offensive to Push $69 Billion Activision Acquisition Through

CaptD

Gotta love the pie chart that they have brought out on stage, "wah wah look how pathetic we are, you just gotta give us Activision". Not to mention the lame Union tweet and Nintendo deal, talk about dragging out the desperate measures to the 11th hour.

However I'm Quite surprised Value is behind the deal though because Shirley they would lose a big chunk of change if CoD and Diablo went into PC GP.

Re: Massive Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 Patch Available Now

CaptD

@NEStalgia When I finally give in and purchase Psvr2 then I will certainly give gyro a go, a wheel is just too much of an investment plus the amount of room is requires is just too much of a headache for me.
I seem to do fine with the controller, even managed to platinum Dirt Rally, only in VR though as I don't seem to be very good when playing flat and that goes double for Wipeout, despite playing the game since the ps1 days it was only in VR that I managed to be any good at it.

Re: Saints Row Sales Flop Forces Parent Company to Change Its Policy on New Games

CaptD

Never been overly impressed with any of the saints row with the most recent one impressing the least.
IMO only one GTA clone has eclipsed GTA and that is Sleeping Dogs. I'm surprised in this era of failed IPs that they don't just give us what we want and that is to play Sleeping Dogs 2 whilst eating a pork bun. PS would like a new story not a remake.
