PlayStation Showcase 2023

This is not a drill: a PlayStation Showcase is happening, and it's happening soon. Just announced through Sony's official channels, the event will take place on Wednesday the 24th May at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CET. It'll be streamed on both YouTube and Twitch. The hype is real.

And let's be honest, it's about damn time. PlayStation fans have been dying to know what's next for the PS5, both in terms of big first-party games and long-rumoured hardware revisions. But Sony's relative silence has been deafening, with the Japanese giant only putting on smaller shows to promote individual blockbusters, and meet contractual obligations.

This is the one we're all been waiting for, though. Sony writes: "The show will run a bit over an hour, focusing on PS5 and PS VR2 games in development from top studios from around the world. Expect a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as spellbinding games from our third-party partners and indie creators." A bit of everything, then!

Indeed, we've been waiting on news with regards to PlayStation Studios output for a long time. We know Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming later this year, but beyond that, we've pretty much been left in the dark. If you're anything like us, you'll really want to know what the likes of Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch have got in store.

Are you glad to see that a showcase has finally been confirmed? Do you have any predictions? Expectations? Feel free to get completely carried away in the comments section below.
