I don't even remember what was game of the year last year, so I don't really care either way.
I do think that having two games of this quality released in the same year and struggling to choose between them is a good 'problem' to have though 😊

If they did create a PS5 patch, they would sell it to us as a new game as they did with GTA 5.

If it doesn't run at a minimum 60fps then it basically doesn't run. 30fps is just not acceptable any more, especially when I'm used to playing on pc at 300fps for shooters.
Mind, Gotham Nights and Plague Tale: Requiem run like **** on pc too so it's not the PS5.

If they just released Spiderman Remastered on PS5 as a standalone I'd be happy. Ridiculous that you can't buy it that way yet.

Meh. I got a PS5 for PSVR2 and I'm looking forward to that so much. But an Xbox Series X and Gamepass for everything else is looking like the best option by far.

Given that we're still waiting for a patch to fix Bloodbourne's framerate issues I won't be holding my breath.

Nah, Total War:Warhammer 3 came out this week so that'll keep me busy for the next thousand hours or so. I'll pick up the game of the year edition when it's cheap.

Option 3: wait for the PC version and play at 4k/60 fps

I really enjoyed UFC3, but UFC4 didn't look different enough to be worth buying, so I'll give that a go.

I got my PS2 out of the loft one afternoon during lockdown and played a bunch of PS1 and PS2 games. Syphon Filter, Vagrant Story, Onimusha and a load of others I had great memories of playing back in the day.
The PS2 went back in the loft the same day as sadly the reality didn't match the nostalgia. Backwards compatibility for older games is something I'd probably use once and never again and Sony know it.

The prospect of PSVR2 is the main reason I went for a PS5 rather than going the Xbox Series X/Gamepass route.
PSVR1 was an absolute gamechanger for me in terms of immersion etc.

The only characters I cared about were the ones from Bad Company 1+2, and to be honest I would much rather that the current incarnation of Dice stayed away from those games.

The idea that they didn't know what state these remasters were in when they released them is an insult to our intelligence.
They simply thought they could get away with it. Rockstar, CD Projekt Red. There just are no decent games companies anymore.

Oh I know. If I add the backlog on Steam, GoG, Origin, Epic and whatever the Ubisoft one is called I basically don't have enough years left to play them all already 😂
One change I have made to try to improve matters is not feeling like I have to finish games I do start. If I'm not enjoying it after an hour or two it gets deleted, no guilt. Life is literally too short.

I've just checked my PS4 pro library and I have a backlog of approx 180 games that I haven't even ever downloaded let alone played.
This delay is quite possibly a blessing in disguise 🤔

I've been enjoying this hugely, it's fantastic with the aim controller.
One thing not mentioned here is the weird scaling issue where characters and particularly NPCs look too small, though this can be 'fixed' by reducing your eye-to-eye distance to half in the settings. Hopefully a patch will sort this and also increase resolution for the PS4 Pro and PS5.

I've been watching streams of people trying to play this but struggling with constant disconnections. If you have an always online requirement then you should make sure your servers work first. As it is literally unplayable for hours at a time this is an easy pass for me.

Moving pictures are an optical illusion. Having spent years playing games on PC at 120 FPS+ my brain simply doesn't interpret 30 FPS as smooth movement anymore. I recently tried to play Bloodborne again and gave up after a few hours.

Much like RE 7 I will buy this then never dare to install it 😂

I've given up any thought of buying a PS5 this year. I'll put the money towards a new PC and pick up a PS5 Pro when they come out instead.

I have somehow managed to get through life without ever playing a Need For Speed game so I'll give it a go for ten minutes. Vampyr I'm actually interested in so not a bad month for me.

I've had both xboxes and playstations in previous generations and I still haven't made up my mind which way to go next gen yet.
Not having to pay a subscription to play online would be a really big factor in my decision.

I never pay more than £20 for games. Why would I?
The games industry has never been bigger and has never made more money. They know that x amount of customers will pay full price, then x amount will pay less a few weeks or months later. This is all factored in to their marketing strategies.
You don't need to pay full price now and you won't in the future either.

How does it run though? Consistent 60 fps or should I wait for the inevitable PS5 version?

It still amazes me that being able to completely redefine all the controls isn't standard by now. I have a weird hand spasm thing which makes me click R3 randomly and it ruins some games for me.

When I first played Shenmue I was actually working as a forklift driver. One Sunday morning I was playing the game waiting for the pub to open.
In the game I was playing Space Harrier waiting for the bars to open so I could ask some guys about sailors.
Blew my mind at the time, lol.
(Incidentally, I wasn't going to the pub to ask about sailors in real life.)
