@Ainu20 i play on switch and PlayStation. Yes I have played plenty of 3rd party games but if that’s all I’m going to use the systems for I’d rather buy a pc. This generation compared to the last 2 has been dreadful for single player first party games. It hasn’t helped that the few that have released I’m not really bothered about playing (or certainly not until they are cut price)

@Carnage chances are ram won’t actually go down in price much from its peak (which isn’t even close yet) if we are lucky when things settle down today’s prices will likely become the new norm

It’s very exciting times for these games that have massive success from almost nowhere. These devs could do a fromsoft and become some of the next massive games developers.

So once again these numbers are a false equivalency. We need to remove the 60+% of sales that were on pc because there was no choice for disc. Give us the actual PlayStation data for these releases and the number would be more like 30% disc on PlayStation.

@Oram77 oh I completely agree. The actual gameplay in the last of us 2 and uncharted 4 were incredible. The storytelling and characters were god damn awful but I don’t really play games for that anyway. I’d love to see what they would do if the gameplay didn’t revolve around guns.

Developers love to advertise their games by saying stuff like “from the creators of dragon age” while at the same time everyone that work on those games left years ago.

I can’t remember the last time I seen a game that I wanted to play on standard ps+
Hence the reason I never pay for ps+ since they created 3 tiers (apart from 3 months to play arc raiders)

Hard to sell physical games when most don’t release with the option. This was always a managed decline so they could eventually make the anti consumer decision they planned. Either way I’m not arsed anymore because I’ve made my decision

The pr machine is rolling along nicely. Sony are quite obviously asking these guys to release all this data to support their hostile takeover of game supply.

@Noone2025 yes optional for everyone except the people with mental health issues that these type of “cosmetics” are designed to target. Let’s be honest about these things. They are designed to drain the wallet of simpletons hence many of them have gambling type mechanics.

They can’t carve it in stone because they don’t have the player base to make most of their games profitable.

Actually sounds like a common sense thing to do. The issue is Sony haven’t done anything that is consumer friendly for many many years so expect an ulterior motive.

@LikelySatan this is so true. Every dialogue option virtually leads to the exact same outcome. You don’t have the option of an evil playtrough. I enjoyed the game for the atmosphere but missions were all boring and the three factions didn’t make a huge difference to 90% of the game. Huge devs just don’t really make true RPG’s anymore

Going f2p won’t save marathon now. Even the people that reviewed it highly have all dropped the game. Having a pve mode sounds good but most people will play a few maps and then drop it. The maps are too small and with no real jeopardy I can’t see the point in an extraction shooter. Sony are better off pulling the plug than falling into a sunk cost fallacy loop with this one.

On the one hand obsidian made the best fallout game of all time. On the other hand obsidian’s last game was avowed. I’d suggest that the talent that made fallout have long departed the building.

These days I look forward to games made by the new dev teams like Larian, warhorse and sandfall. They will be the future big players because they haven’t been infected by suits yet. Same as fromsoft before them. Look for the teams making bangers now not the ones living of decades old past glory.
