I would suggest that the quicker these movie companies get removed from gaming the better. Truth is gamers will always follow the good games and abandon the hollowed out soulless studios.

This isn’t the movie business where western audiences mostly only watch western movies. Gaming is much more adaptable! The East is currently taking over and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I know that if I bought one I would use it 2-3 times and then it would go into storage. Seems like a very anti social way of gaming if you live with family.

Funny enough I was just looking at buying shadow of Mordor but it’s currently priced at £39.99 for an 11 year old game. Just placed an order with Argos from £12.

If AI means we get production cycles back down into the 3-5 years timeframe instead of the 7-10 year I’m good with it.

Just concentrate on the gameplay more!!

@Rich33 I imagine these type of systems will be implemented in the future. I just hope that after the release date these checks are removed so you won’t get locked out when your internet is down.

@Rich33 i would imagine anyone with an early copy would have switch off their internet connection.

Ubisoft know footage will be available online and they also know it will damage sales. A day one patch will definitely help with some issues. Unfortunately for them the damage will already be done though.

@AhmadSumadi I prefer to take user scores from YouTubers and verified steam players than gaming media. It seems to me that the media are the only ones that get review codes these days because they give favourable scores. Games that have been universally disliked get 8/10 scores from places like ign and polygon.

Customer reviews online before the inevitable 9/10 reviews from the gaming media isn’t ideal. We usually have to wait for the game to be out a month before we get the real review scores.

Digital game prices are a joke.

Honest question to the people that say this generation has been great. Can you list the great games, system selling IP’s?! I keep hearing that this gen is great but I can honestly say I’ve not felt the urge to buy anything other than indie games.

Gow and spider man are the only games I can think of (neither of them interest me)

The pro just isn’t required. The base ps5 is hardly being used to its full potential yet.

Thank god they are starting to realise! We don’t need 10 year production cycles for games just so they can make fractional graphical upgrades.

Go back to basics>focus on gameplay>profit

The ps3 days of online gaming was better then todays. Why has everything got to be live service? Why couldn’t they just build an online game, release the game and be done with it. Why has it always got to be built upon and supported for years.

Game looks great. It’s a blessing we have eastern devs stepping up while western devs destroy themselves

It’s crazy to me that Microsoft plan on spending a fortune developing a new Xbox. Unless it has some sort of usp like the switch or the Wii I can’t see it selling well.

I really hope they have single player dlc for this game. GTA online should almost be a completely separate package (which this article is alluding to)

This increase looks like Xbox players moving over to PlayStation. That’s terrible news for Microsoft to lose market share in their own territory.

Great decision because right now on PlayStation gamers are starved. I for one will be buying all 4 games that were shown at the recent Xbox showcase. If they didn’t come to PlayStation I would have been buying my first ever Xbox.

Once ai is matured game can be churned out at rapid pace. This really isn’t a bad thing as long as it’s used correctly. Invidia new graphics cards use ai to massively improve graphics without much input. That’s great for all of us who love this industry

There is absolutely no way they would make a good mass effect game today.

This is the definition of farming a small gullible player base.

Figures are steam only but are still more representative than the fairytale of millions of active players.

Live service is the most predatory sales tactic that farms a small user base for a constant flow of money. Gaming is enjoyed by hundreds of millions players but successful live service games usually have 30k people playing. That’s great for the company to farm those 30k players for all they are worth but it also leaves the millions of other fans out in the cold.

Take for example fallout, gta and elder scrolls. All games that had successful live service games and no new single player game for a generation. You alienate millions of people for a few thousand players. Eventually the millions of players will abandon you.

Also why do games cost so much more to make now than 10 years ago when they actually look and play worse now than 10 years ago. We’re being taken for morons by suits that could care less about gaming.

@Vaako007 I would love western devs to thrive but u see the current circumstances they won’t. When the suits took over they focused on maximum profitability rather than creating a better product. Best way for that to change is huge bankruptcies and build from the ashes.

Gaming is healing! Will be 6 years before we see the shoots of recovery. Luckily non western devs are killing it.

Gaming industry wants to eat itself some more. The great gaming crash can’t come soon enough.

I’m personally happy all this is happening. I absolutely detest live service trash that is filled with micro transactions. Who wants to play the same game for 10 years plus!
Sony was built on single player narrative games and they threw it away.
This gen won’t sell anywhere near the numbers of ps4. I’m still waiting for this gen to kick off and I’ve almost given up hope of that actually happening. Ps5 is the worst playstation console of all time.

If remakes were coming out alongside new games and IP’s no one would have a problem.
