Naughty dog was still a better company with Amy in charge rather than Druckmann! Only way I’ll change my mind would be intergalactic being a truly great game. I’m not expecting much from the story but I’m sure the gameplay will be okay

For me number 4 was the weakest of them all. Before it released I was very excited for the darker tone (of the advertisements) but it didn’t deliver in the same was at 2 and 3 imo.

Games that have zero actual gameplay should not be lauded as 9/10 games. Regardless this type of experience definitely has a place in the gaming world. Some people want to play an easy relaxing walking simulator. I can see why some people say it’s not really a game though.

@Juvenlast still decent numbers. Probably not enough to justify 12 other live service fails but still decent.

People that advocate for Sony’s live service push use this game as an example but let’s be real how many people are still actually playing the game?

@Sweetz gta is the best open world games that have ever been created. So many gamers are trained to have zero attention span because of games like cod where you get killed and respawn every 30 seconds. I guess you probably hate elden ring as well?

The suits need to learn that striking live service gold isn’t something you can just decide in a boardroom. FIFA and madden have been a franchise for 30 years and fit perfectly into that genre without even trying, Fortnite, pubg, valorant and many others were a case of right time right place.

Even if you do find success like hell divers and arc raiders (I know arc isn’t sony) that doesn’t mean these games will last for longer than a couple of years.

@UltimateOtaku91 marathon would have been playable on PlayStation even if Sony hadn’t purchased bungie! Only thing that could ever make this a profitable purchase is destiny 3

Human creativity will remain until ai becomes so good people can’t tell the difference. At that point they’ll use it and lie about it.

Also let’s be honest they are likely using ai to create artwork now but having a human rework it so it doesn’t look like it was made by ai. If the studio isn’t encouraging it I’m certain developers will be doing it at home and adding it to the game later.

@viktorcode I’m not talking about marathon having a tiny player base (which it always had) I’m talking about player retention being dreadful. If the game is such an amazing experience why are people giving up so quickly?? I thought the game only got better as you play more??!

System selling IP’s are virtually non existent so not really surprising.

I’m looking forward to giving this a go at some point. My only worry is the combat looks very tedious with the constant hacking mini game.

It’s not really a huge genre and it’s very similar to its predecessor so hardly unexpected imo. Same as spider man 2, gow rag, horizon forbidden west and ghosts of Yotei didn’t sell anywhere near the originals.

I think we also have to start considering how bad situation is with peoples disposable income atm.

Paying £80 for gta 6 would be acceptable but that doesn’t mean I’d pay it for any other game!

@LifeGirl I hated part 2 because it killed one main character and made the other one entirely unlikeable! I hated it because the “revenge is bad” narrative was stupid and borderline junior high level writing.

I have no idea what to expect from this game tbh. Can’t wait to see more of it plus some gameplay. Not overly excited for a religious narrative so I’m hoping that side of it isn’t too heavy.

Those numbers are insanely low considering marathon probably sold close to 1m copies on pc. I guess day one releases are the only way to ensure decent sales numbers on pc. Plus the fact that pc gamers are probably more inclined to play online games than console gamers.
