Pointless upgrade but it’s only £10 so who really cares. The big problem with all of these remasters is the resources could be better used on new games.

Devs are starting to learn that in todays market if you don’t release an acceptable polished product gamers will reject it.

400m for a clone of a 10 year old game with worse characters and nothing original. PlayStation brand is in real trouble if they keep the decision makers in place.

Comparing PS5 remasters from last gen to Nintendo remasters from Wii U is disingenuous imo. The Wii U was a huge commercial failure but the games released on the system were great. Hence the rereleases to target the much larger audience on the switch.
PlayStations remasters are mostly linked to secondary media releases of TV shows and PC ports. Sony are basically ignoring the needs and wants of their biggest customer base.

Who thinks creating remasters of near perfect last gen games was a good idea. It’s so dumb!! I generally have no interest in replaying games I’ve already finished. This gen really does suck

What have Sony been doing for the past 4 years. Worse gen ever for single player narrative driven experiences. The one thing that Sony built its huge following with they seem to have almost abandoned.

Cutting out the middle man is a great idea if you want to keep your products competitive price wise. Seems like that’s not the case though

I doubt retailers stocked many of the disc drives because the market for it was so so small.

If this flops hard the ps6 will be reasonably priced. If this sells well enough the ps6 will sell for the exact same price if not more.

Never liked the white ps5 (hence the reason I purchased black plates) also didn’t really like the shape or size.

@HonestHick if Sony start pricing new consoles at this price point many many people will be lost to PC.

This is a dedicated PlayStation website where the enthusiasts watch the presentation live. Only about 10% of those polled are going to buy the pro. This spells disaster because the general public won’t be paying those prices if we aren’t interested.

This is the generation where Sony have officially lost the plot! No system selling games and insane price points. Time to jump on the PC bandwagon me thinks.

Live service and subscription models are going to bankrupt a huge name sooner or later. I personally think that’s a good thing because the worst thing for gaming would be a Netflix type system for games. Eventually they would want to put the price up substantially to cover costs or basically stop creating new games to make the model work. Either way the quicker it dies the better.

Just seen the trailer on Nintendo life. Not for my demographic but I can see the little kids enjoying this and that’s who it’s aimed at.
Could be quite good fun as long as there’s some laughs for the parents

How did we go from PS4 with single player focused bangers to the mess that is PS5. When you’ve had so much success doing narrative driven storytelling why change course so dramatically.

For the first time in 20 years I’m considering switching back to PC gaming and leaving consoles behind. Sad times. Unfortunately I think the gaming industry is mostly now run by people that have zero passion or real interest in gaming. Half of them probably don’t even play games.

Sony should make a statement if they haven’t done a deal.

The people at the top should be the ones getting laid off!

The live service gambles are mostly losers. When devs get it right the rewards are immense though. Problem is they mostly aim for the same audience so it’s incredibly difficult to carve out a space for yourself.

The quicker investment bankers and the suits abandon the games industry the better. What will be built from the ashes will be a much healthier ecosystem.

I was only interested in the pro because I hate the shape, design and size of the original 5. Was also not keen on the white so purchased some black plates. Certainly won’t be upgrading for the same shape console considering we don’t really get next gen games anymore.

Kind of amazed that they are doing another cyberpunk.

@WhiteRabbit ps5 is the worst console generation I’ve witnessed in 30 plus years of gaming.

It’s time for Sony and Microsoft to put everything on pc so we can finally all move to one platform. That’s the way it’s going eventually anyway. Maybe then we don’t get devs spending 8 years making clones of other games available on other platforms.

This is why online only games need to die off asap. You pay a fortune and then one day they just switch it off. Liver service games are killing this industry unfortunately. Maybe a better industry emerges from the asses.

I just don’t see the market for a game that is very similar to Valorant or overwatch. These games have huge cult like followings and massive pro gamer tournaments and communities. Expecting to crash that party with a new game that is basically a copy paste was never going to be successful.

Some originality in game design and art style would have helped.

Just started it. Like the art style and mechanics so far. Always try to support indie devs because most of the time they get things right that the big devs don’t.

They’ll bring them all eventually because the user base is so much bigger.

I will keep an eye on reviews for this one. Unfortunately I expect them to be garbage same as everything Xbox related.

Hate games set in snow environments.

Only thing that let DS2 down was the repetitive knight boss fights. Apart from that I never understood the hate.

First game is still good enough! Really don’t need remakes of relatively recent games imo.

Shortages and price are definitely a factor but let’s be honest this generation is so far behind the last gen for top quality software. I read this site everyday and I’m only really interested in what fromsoft, naughty dog and rockstar.

For every Fortnite and pubg there are 10 suicide squads. One day devs will realise that making live service games is a waste of time and money.

Everything is a psyop these days according to social media. Hence the reason I’ve deleted all socials. On another note Balatro is my favourite indie game of the past year.
