Steam concurrent player counts are the only measure the market gives the public. Without it publishers would lie about a game success and so would the media which in turn would drive more sales. Hence the reason the industry hates steam and want it gone. Are all the lawsuits against steam a coincidence I think not! They will do anything to force gabe to sell up.

Gamers are sick to death of having garbage shoved down our throats! Unfortunately gaming media bends the knee to the developers and publishers rather than serving their actual customers (the readers) then people wonder why discourse around some games has become toxic. It’s quite clear that many gaming sites take sponsorship deals with publishers for some games and try to push positive sentiment onto the players. This isn’t how independent media should work. The rise of YouTube reviews will continue to grow as traffic to msm will evaporate if things don’t change.

How many gushing articles have we see about marathon? Not one article addresses the real concerns people have with the game.

Single player gaming is dead!

I have no sympathy tbh. They released a boring game that was nowhere near ready for release. They paid millions for the game awards advertisement when they would have been better off spending the money on development. They can cry and whinge about the reception the game received all they like! Take responsibility for building a crap game no one wanted rather than blame the customers

On a side note the gaming media really need to stop running defence for these types of game that the public obviously reject. It’s making the publications a laughing stock and pushing gamers to other places for their gaming news. You wonder why ign and others are constantly laying people off, you only need to read their articles to understand why.

Resets are common for extraction shooters. Unfortunately the audience that bungle are going for won’t know that!

I have the lowest psn level just to play arc raiders. I’d be happy for them to reduce the lowest tier prices and not provide any free games tbh. If you want the service from for added games you would likely buy the higher tier anyway.

Pc ports don’t sell that well because of the delayed release. Plus the single player output they do have these days just isn’t top top quality.

Free to play weekend and player count has tanked. Can’t see many paying £40 for this! They should go free to play day one

It’s kinda dull from a viewers perspective. I said on a different thread that watched 4 hours of gameplay last night and seen about three pvp situations (all ended within seconds)

The first game was great but I did get some combat fatigue towards the end of the game. Will 100% pick this up

Watched 4 hours of it last night. Hardly seen any pvp as the maps seem completely empty. Ai enemy’s seemed slow and dull and visually I thought it was horrible to look at for a long period of time. This seems way more complicated (loot wise) than arc raiders so I’m not sure casuals will vibe with it. If they make more pvp oriented I can see the sweaty crowd enjoying it. Can’t see this being a mainstream hit though.

Now they need to start making single player games again.

Let’s be honest vr will never be mainstream no matter who makes the headset. It has the same problem Nintendo had with the Wii u. Not enough players to justify huge gave development costs and not enough games for the product to become mainstream.

They must have paid an absolute fortune in r&d to build this headset and then left it completely unsupported while they went chasing the live service dragon.

@ZeD you take equipment into the game (weapons, shields, heals, bullets etc) if you get killed you lose all the stuff you took in plus any resources you found in game. The idea is go in loot up and extract > build better equipment with looted resources.

I’ll be watching this via streams this week. I did watch some peanut couple weeks back. I did struggle to see what was going on tbh but that’s probably my age. It’s certainly not as easy to watch as arc raiders imo.

The nda part of this play test doesn’t fill you with confidence tbh. They obviously don’t want to be ripped to shreds online.

Nintendo understand that exclusives sell hardware. PlayStation are under an illusion that porting their games to other consoles and pc won’t affect hardware sales. The only reason ps5 has sold so many unites is because for the first 4 years people believed we’d have many first part exclusives and secondly people have migrated from Xbox.

The sentiment for this game has definitely changed on sites like this. Reddit, YouTube and x not so much. This game is still being called concord 3 by the internet. I actually think the game will go okay. Not great but okay.

PlayStations main rival is now steam. That will become a lot more apparent once the steam machine releases. I can’t really believe how the two big consoles manufacturers have messed so badly this generation.

Displaying The original retail price of old games is a psychological trick to make you think you are getting a bargain. Wow look at the amazing deal I’m getting on a 5 year old game! Truth is you could get that same game used on disc for a fraction of the store “sale” price.

Sony don’t care what we think! They only care about creating enough live service games that can drain the wallets of whales and children! Why make games that millions of people will love when you can earn 10x more creating live service trash (that needs much less development once the initial game is created) from a few hundred thousand people.

Build an addictive game loop and then add predatory pricing features built on gambling algorithms and you’ll rinse people for so much money. The whole system is a disgrace tbh. Anyway long live indie and aa!
