Making an easy mode is a terrible idea. I’m so pleased fromsoft never give in to the few people that scream for easy mode! So many people would give change settings to beat the hard bosses because they can’t be bothered to learn the moveset. This robs the player of any sense of accomplishment imo.

@Blaze215 horizon hunters gathering will do a lot worse than marathon imo. Fair games will never release.

Make it free to play and hope bungie can turn things around. Making a hardcore extraction shooter and spending that sort of money on it is insane!! The first wipe will tank player numbers even further, I just can’t see Sony allowing them to keep a large team making content for this one considering it will never make back the development costs.

Character creation is always something that I can’t be bothered to spend much time with. I know many people love spending hours creating theirs but I usually go for mr generic because I want to get going.

Sony make more tv shows and movies based on games than actual games.

The team have probably been tasked with making a new live service game because they all make money!

@gamer153 failure is subjective. Selling 4 million copies in 2 weeks is very difficult to classify as failure.

@Pat_trick the ending made me angry though! I played for so many hours butchering every man women and dog in my way just to get my hands on Abby and then I was forced to let her go because all of a sudden the revenge wasn’t worth it anymore. That writing is so so poor! The game also made me hate Ellie which would 100% make me skip the next game

@Pat_trick the first tlou wasn’t all dour and depressing that’s what made it work so well imo. The second game however really was a struggle to play because it was just depressing. Fantastic gameplay advancement but horrible narrative and execution. ND haven’t released an incredible game since Amy Hennig left the company!

It would surely be his daughter that is the main character at this point no?! Either that or Nathan drake would need a couple of knee replacements before he goes on his adventures.

Only one retailer in the uk has raised the price to £790 (very) all the others still have them listed at old prices. I guess Sony has a ton of stock out there that isn’t moving quickly enough even at the lower price.

It had a chance with Xbox falling off a cliff but this new price point will be very restrictive for many people.

Why couldn’t naughty dog have handed the game over to another Sony developer to continue support for the game? You know one of the studios they closed down for no good reason.

@crossbit especially considering many of the assets used for the game would have been reused from part 2.

Some retailers will probably keep old pricing in place until they need to restock. Pro’s probably don’t sell that quickly so we might see them stay at old prices for longer than expected

The reality is that most people don’t want to spend years playing the same game over and over. The games that do manage that sort of success are either excellent games in their field or they are lucky. You can’t plan for it!

I can’t think of a single time that copying Nintendo has been successful.

Let’s be real professional review scores mean nothing anymore anyway. Back in the 90’s early 00’s you rely on published reviews because there was no other option. In today’s market some professional reviewers play a game for a few hours and give out a score. Where as you can watch someone play the game on stream for hours or watch a YouTube review from a gamer that enjoys the same sort of content as yourself. This site is still decent but a lot of the big players have zero credibility in my mind. IGN being one of them

This “crash” is also only really effecting western devs who have massively bloated organisations and seem to be addicted to making games no one wants to play.

Not sure how well part 3 would sell tbh. Probably in the 5-6m range which is decent but the player drop from 1 to 2 makes it very unlikely that part 3 could be massively successful.

@Sulleymonster industry leakers and insiders have always known more than the press! That’s existed for 30 years plus. Only difference is in the past they had to distribute the inside info through the media not they self publish via social media.

$760 for the Bom could be component price only! Once assembly and shipping plus taxes are included I would expect that $1000 price point to be about right.

Things will get a lot lot worse before they get better unfortunately. Pro’s are almost sold out at the reduced price in the uk and I’m sure there will be a shortage when we get close to gta6 release. After that sales will evaporate until the 6 is released.

Sounds like the devs should have asked for a delayed review until this patch was released.

Apple sell 200 million iPhones a year at near $1000 a phone. All so people can scroll twitter and watch xxx videos. $1000 for a console in this economy is entirely reasonable if the correct payment options are available. Especially considering these consoles last 6-7 years rather than a phone which is 3-4 max
