2.1m for a £300m aaa blockbuster game ain’t going to cut it. It will be running on pc by this time next week as well.

@NessunDorma yeah I had great memories of ps2 and I didn’t buy one game for the console. I just rented them from blockbuster and cloned them. Great times! Also you underestimate how much I want the gaming market to crash and burn. The quicker it happens the quicker a new more consumer friendly market will rise from the ashes.

The game sales have apparently been below expectations. I guess that’s largely because it flopped hard on pc.

Arc raiders could work really well because the aesthetic of the game is so cinematic.

Are we not sick of having the same conversation every week? Gamers don’t care about how many devs work for a company. They only care about the quality of the games. Some people will pretend to care because that’s what they think they should say.

Hopefully they just have two developers working to make new resi games.

Xbox thought If they kept selling gamepass as a loss leader eventually they would reach critical mass and become the Netflix of gaming. It was never ever going to work due to the cost of making games. For gamepass to actually pay for itself as the gaming platform it would have needed to be priced at $50 a month minimum

There really needs to be some quality control before these games release. Having the pro version be the worst version is insanity

Uncharted was by far their best series. Replacing Nathan for his daughter would probably change the on screen dynamic so much it would obviously feel like an entirely different thing (imo) look forward to seeing what they’ve been up to though.

It’s certainly the best looking game of all time. Let’s just hope they’ve kept that gta humour and charm and it hasn’t been replaced by terrible millennial writing

The iron of the gaming industry saying we don’t need physical discs but then trying to sell us physical collectibles and vinyl is hilarious.

This is blatant propaganda. Sony have absolutely no problem splashing hundreds of millions on games like concord, marathon, wolverine and many many others.

I highly doubt publishers will be on the side of the consumer. Late stage capitalism is all about maximising profits without a care for the consumer. Hence the reason the gaming industry is currently in free fall and will continue to decline as long as these practices continue

Crypt custodian I liked a lot but I really am fed up with so many Metroidvania type indie games.

Western game development is undergoing a huge transformation which will benefit the players eventually. Let’s be honest most of these studios actually deserve what’s happening to them.

Keep trimming that fat! Games were better and quicker to develop with smaller teams. Let’s get back to that please.

Of course they will give deals now. That will all stop once they have a monopoly over the market. Remember their plan is to monetise the fan base as much as possible.

We all know that first party games from Sony sell very well in disc format.

Why is criticism always labelled as hysteria or grifting?

@CielloArc yeah but that no different from making a movie from a book. You obviously need to make some editorial decisions to make it work for the big screen but they generally just made the movies have next to nothing in common with the source material.

It’s always baffled me that no one seemed to be able to make a good resi movie. It’s probably the most translatable source material from game to movie.

Nothing of value was lost

This feature is decent but still I wouldn’t necessarily trust the info. Very easy to put the games you want to sell on the trending page. Eg if this existed when concord came out it 100% would have made the trending page even though no one was playing it.

@Dimey we had this recently when another game released (can’t remember which one) so yeah I agree it’s obviously all coordinated via Sony. All patting each other on the back for making bang average slop.

The culture war continues. This type of “game” has a place in the market. The problem for a lot of people is that we play games for a challenge rather than playing a movie simulator where your input is barely needed.

How did this game perform sales wise? Never once heard anyone talk about the game. That includes YouTube. Just seems there is zero interest

The simplistic gameplay can’t be fixed. The boring story can’t be fixed. The only easy win is removing all the egregious waypoint markers.

It never had momentum.

They need a lot more time to completely recalibrate the game if it has any chance of surviving. This is probably the most sensible thing to do. The big issue now will be keeping the few players they still Have playing engaged. My guess is the game goes free to play in December

Dark humour and questionable themes? It’s a game don’t take it so seriously.

Review scores from the gaming media mean nothing anymore. We all know it and so do they. You can predict the scores years before the game even releases.

Skill up does not recommend. Thats surprising tbh.
