'It Will Not Be Easy': Marvel Tokon Producer Talks Winning Back Burned PC Players 1

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a very well-regarded fighting game, but it's not without its problems — and, so far, most of them have been on the PC version.

While the PS5 rendition has been largely spotless, those playing on PC have had to put up with inconsistent performance and online play.

It was so bad at launch that the game was quickly torn apart across social media, with high-profile influencers like Maximilian Dood uninstalling it and swapping to the PS5 version live on stream.

Developer Arc System Works has been pretty quick to start turning things around, with a couple of beefy patches that significantly improve things on PC, but it's unclear whether the team can claw back any goodwill from players.

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka talks about the situation in an interview with VGC.

"Currently, the team is hard at work on fixing these [PC] issues, and we’ve now released two urgent patches," Yamanaka says. "The CPU processing load issue has been greatly improved now as of the latest patch. However, the team is still hard at work to continue working on resolving remaining issues."

Asked about winning back players who were affected by the issues on PC, Yamanaka says it's going to be tough.

"I do think that it’s an extremely challenging task that we need to undertake, where we sincerely want to put all of our effort forward to create an environment where the players can experience this game that we’ve worked so hard to create, and that we do have a lot of confidence that the game itself will be really fun for them."

"We realised that the issues on the PC version have created a lot of trouble for the players, and we truly apologise for that, but we can promise that we are continually working very hard on improvements for the future." he adds. "And we hope that players will stick with us and keep creating more excitement from Marvel Tokon."

Yamanaka says it "will not be an easy task at all" to regain lost trust in the game, but that it's something Arc System Works is "facing head-on" as it works to ensure "an environment where players will be able to smoothly experience the game."

By and large, the sentiment around Tokon has been very positive even with these issues, but hopefully it won't take too long before those PC teething problems are a thing of the past.
