What they are really apologizing for is how unlikely they are to track down the leakers.

But nobody has said anything...if anything it's Sony disc fans are expecting an apology from.

To be quite honest, i kind of respect the silence in terms of them not showing anything apart from a trailer and some screenshots.

It's kind of exciting knowing something this humongous in the entertainment space is coming and we know little about it.

I've stayed well clear of all the leaks, no need to spoil anything at this stage.

This is the "nice" public facing statement. The leakers better be living in Russia. The last GTA leakers found themselves locked up in a hospital

I couldn't care less about the leaks tbh. Rockstar will still make more money than God for the next fifteen years.
And at the end of the day, don't want to be spoiled? Don't watch the spoiler videos. It really is that simple.

I watched the leaks and liked what I saw. I liked seeing the raw gameplay.

I appreciate the raw gameplay because I’ve seen a ton of game previews over the last decade or so that don’t deliver a true experience.

I’m looking forward to the Netflix preview as well.

Rockstar only had to make a statement to the regulators, they did it within seventy-two hours. They had to or they'd be fined, they issued a statement to their investors too but they were never obliged to make a public statement because no user-data was taken. Games/buyers aren't entitled to the same statement the investors were given. This is why it's taken so long.

@ThomasHL He's not in my country, he's closer to yours. The last leaker went to hospital because he had autism, had a mental breakdown and had to go away for treatment. The same thing happened with a Hacker friend who breeched the American military and the Navy, he did no real damage, used recycled logins, there were no firewalls and his reasoning was that he'd been looking for a UFO cover-up. The Americans wanted him, Theresa May blocked his extradition because he too had autism and she said it was a violation of his human rights. We used to play Breakpoint together and he was my introduction to that condition, I'd never heard of autism before.

This new guy feels nothing like a kid, from being in his Telegram I'd peg him for late thirties if not forties. I said it day one. he has big Ted Kazinski energy about him, I think he's an ex Rockstar contractor and that he hacked nothing, just lifted a build while leaving or someone who Rockstar treated like garbage helped. He still won't admit to a hack, I've seen countless people ask.

None of the leaks will have any cooling effect on sales anyway tbh.

I think the leaks helped them if anything. It’s free publicity, it would only hurt them if it would be early development and there was any actual code leaked.

I also think most people couldn’t care less about some low quality imbecile shooting his name into a wall and will patiently wait for an official trailer.

Leaker is definitely from some disfunctional hellhole like Russia, otherwise they’re going to get him. Maybe even than.

Not saying what they’re doing is ok, especially the ultimate edition. I don’t think those devs deserve having their work tainted just because you disagree with their policies.
