I saw this video last week, glad to see it’s getting more traction.
Keep in mind that the hardest part isn’t waiting for them to fix, ‘cause that’s not gonna happen if the design has been used for so many console generations. No, the hardest thing is going to be to stop buying Sony products. The only solution available to you right now is to replace the controller or repair it. My recommendation is to stop incurring costs in the name of a company that doesn’t care about you.
This looks insanely good. Sounds like they learned their lesson after Warcraft. Super hyped. Last time I preordered a game was 11 years ago, looks like I’ll be getting another!
@OrigamiCrane You bet! I know that PTSD can manifest in odd ways, so I figured it would be good to give you a heads up.
I used to teach Tai Chi and we would start class with meditation/deep breathing. I had a new guy in class and when I close meditation, I clapped loudly and the new guy dropped to the floor.
He and his wife pulled me aside while my assistant took over, and politely explained that he was an Iraqi war vet, and has PTSD. He reacted as if a bomb went off.
That being said, I changed how I brought future classes out of meditation from then on. I was happy they were so forgiving of my foible!
So yeah, I got your back, because I learned the hard way!
@OrigamiCrane Played both. Ninja Gaiden is much more twitchy. There's a reason I play Souls games, and that's because I prefer slower-paced combat. If you have PTSD you may want to at least check some videos of it to see what you think. It's pretty jarringly fast, compared to Dark Souls 3, and Freide is a slow boss compared to Ninja Gaiden.
@HeathenFriar Tactics would have been a MUCH better choice over this game. I sincerely don't know anyone that speaks highly of this game, in my social circle or game reviews.
Wow, that hitbox looks terrible, I wouldn't show that in a trailer! Several times where he was landing from jumps he was getting tagged by projectiles that seemed just out of reach. Yikes!
@jmac1686 I don't think anybody is acting like 100% of the controllers are defective. A class-action lawsuit only qualifies you for compensation if you actually have had a defect. The whole point of these lawsuits is to light a fire under Sony's ass to fix the problem in their manufacturing or controller design, so that there is less chance of defects in the future. Have you ever participated in a class-action lawsuit? They kinda suck. If millions of people participate and the court rules in your favor, Sony pays millions of dollars but the court divides it among the people impacted so you get probably only a few dollars. Again, it's to try to persuade companies to do better diligence when it comes to hardware/software testing and manufacturing, it's not necessarily about the small amount of money that the defendants would get.
@nessisonett I guess that would have to be gauged on an individual basis. Very, very hard to figure out where the world is collectively, on a conscious level regarding Iraqi conflict, without falling to assumption. I see what you mean, there are times where violence in games/media crosses certain lines. I guess from a personal standpoint, that's why I never even touch games that portray very realistic conflict. Playing something like CoD feels disrespectful to the people who actually died during similar conflicts.
Documentaries are interesting, because they seem to offer a sense of the burden (when done well) that some of these people had to go through. If I remember right, there's one simply called "The War" that deals with WWII and it's illuminating and gives a real portrayal of the conflict without turning it into popcorn media, as you say.
@get2sammyb Any way we can see an update to the comments section? It’s in desperate need of some kind of quote feature, so that when people reply to you three days later you know what comment they are referencing.
If you’re gonna do coverage on a game, publishing 12 articles with each one talking about a single feature about the game is strange. Maybe it’s because there’s not much to write about now. It would be great when say, Resident Evil, is released that you write each article greater in depth, rather than one article per game feature.
Oh good, I was wondering what happened to this game. It looks really fun and different, I’m happy it’s still a thing. Hopefully it will come out on the PS5!
My old, old, and I mean OLD Xbox 360 controller is just now starting to display drift in the sticks. I think this thing's going on 14 or 15 years now. Still works great, the drift on mine fixes itself if I wiggle the stick. These things are hardier than I thought they would be. Hopefully the PS5 controllers last, too!
In high school (a couple decades ago) my friends and I would laugh ourselves to tears at the prospect of Final Fantasy 14, it just sounded so ridiculous to us. Little did we know at the time that 3 was actually the 6th game!
@Juvenlast I suppose, but a simple script to automatically answer such emails would trivialize it. It doesn't seem like scalping is a problem that is easily fixed, honestly. Just gotta be patient and roll with it, either that or if you have disposable income, $1000 or more for a PS5 doesn't matter anymore.
@Juvenlast It’s a good idea to allow back orders, but how would an online retailer be able to tell the difference between a bot, scalper, or normal human?
Kind of a weird article to write about a game that already is graphically enhanced on PC, when compared to it's PS3 release and is readily available on both Steam and HumbeBundle.
@themightyant Don’t say Dance Dance Revolution....oh I love that game, but boy has it gone down the tubes. It used to be about actually moving, now it’s about gripping the safety bar and flailing.
That being said, Konami is dead to me unless they revive or at the very least port some more of their missing legacy content to modern gen.
@JapaneseSonic Oh I definitely approve! And it's funny how subject difficulty can be sometimes. Shadow of the Ninja felt like my "black belt test" of ninja gaming LOL
I’ll give the review a better read after I play the game to avoid spoiling, but man this looks good. Stylish indeed. I got covid a few weeks ago and I had this stupid, lingering thought that I had better survive it to be able to play this game LOL
After 3 weeks of still being sick, I’m still here, but man this sucks. Don’t even know how I got it ‘cause I’m extra reclusive. Must be the grocery store.
@JapaneseSonic It’s usually tied to the genre. For example, Ninja games are hard, and require discipline and training. Mario games tend to be easier due to the appeal of the character. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts will make you want to cry
@jmac1686 I remember Skyrim had similar issues on the PS3, but I don’t think those problems ever got fixed. Maybe Sony uses a different architecture for their systems that makes ports more challenging? Xbox is basically a Windows PC so that must be why it runs similarly to PC.
