Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received a surprise PlayStation 4 patch earlier today, and it’s a big one, weighing in at well over 3GB in total. Alas, there’s no sign of the release’s infamous third chapter among the new files, as the patch notes for v1.21 merely mention a “modification of the agreement process”. Legal stuff, then, basically.
It’s still possible there’s more to this update than text tweaks, as 3GB is a lot for some legal mumbo-jumbo. We suspect dataminers will be digging into the source code as we type, but we have asked Konami for comment. Of course, that aforementioned final act is unlikely, as series creator Hideo Kojima notoriously left the company years ago – and has since released Death Stranding.

It's spyware made to enforce the ToS. Too many people fell in love while playing online in Metal Gear Survive, and Konami just cannot have that. Now if you're caught simping for any Otaku e-girls or e-boys they'll know.
Love may bloom on the battlefield, but it doesn't bloom in Metal Gear.

Try 400mb, already installed earlier, along with an update for Wreckfest, which dwarfed the MGS one.
Edit; I should add, I have the definitive edition and it was a very small update file.

I don't like all these big left field studio/publisher purchases going on but if there were one that would be good it would be Sony buying Konami's properties. It looks like Konami are just waiting at this point to be picked up and Sony are demonstrably far more invested in their properties than Konami are and they have a great relationship with Kojima. I also think them releasing games on PC is a good indicator that they might do the same with Silent Hill, MGS, Castlevania - good for everybody.
I would love to see this happen and Kojima return to do an MGSV Extended edition with Chapter 3, it's the only way I could see it happening at this point.

The odds of both a Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid remake being simultaneously released tomorrow, for free, is higher than the chance this patch adds the missing final chapter.

@AK4tywill Hell i would even take MS buying them because at least new entries in these games would be made.
Probably some more indulgent animations for Quiet around the helicopter.

Geek moment: the la le lol thing isn’t supposed to be in the game. It’s supposed be static / censored / gibberish every time someone mentions the patriots. but for some reason when the game was released in foreign markets they didn’t get the memo...
