Re: Sony Launches Strategic Partnerships to Support Black Communities

BloodNinja

@get2sammyb I’m not certain we need to be this hard on the commenters of the site. I respect that the person may have misbehaved in the past, but it’s coming across like you’re trying to make an example of him....over a comments section?

If you were truly concerned over the content of incoming comments from the users, just disable the comments on this article. I don’t agree with naming and shaming people, though. He trespassed upon the site rules, it makes you guys look better when it’s handled privately.

Just my two cents, no hostility.

Interesting. I watched the trailer twice. Once with the music on, once with the music off. The game looked more appealing to me with the music from the trailer turned off. I think they were trying a little too hard to get some kind of excitement going. Looks interesting, might check this out.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About PS4 Exclusives Being Ported to PC?

BloodNinja

@JJ2 The "more can enjoy" argument seems to hold pretty solidly. Actually, not all people buy consoles because they don't want to invest in a high-end gaming PC. Many people will buy both. It's fairly common to own say, a PS4 and a PC, so that you get all your exclusives on each machine. And if there is any overlap, it's also common for people (like me!) to get a physical copy of a PC game they may own that also happens to be on PS4, like Skyrim or Dark Souls.

So, different strokes for different blokes, as the saying goes! Yes, there are definitely people that get into console gaming because it's cheaper, depending on how you go. Though, with the cost of PS5 hardware and games, I would say that they are pushing mid-end PC gaming setups at this point.

@Octane All interesting ideas, I'm not too "in the loop" so some of this stuff is new material for me. I'm assuming from context that MTX = microtransactions? Yeah, those need to go. MTX almost always appear in games where there is some kind of grind, and then they use it as an excuse to slow the grind so much that, eh, I might as well pay $9 to get max level or whatever. It's gross. Personally, EA has been on my boycott list since the early 2000's, haven't bought a single of their games since that time out of principle. Any EA game I once owned got trashed. They just aren't good for the industry.

In terms of your experimentation section, I'm gonna give that to Sony. They seem more willing, whereas Nintendo first party games feel forced into their usual formulas. I literally don't have to buy the next ten Mario games, because we already know it's going to be varying degrees of running to the right, while collecting coins and touching a flag pole. Oh, next time he will wear a dog costume. Wow.

Sony wins in that regard, big time. They seem to be more willing to take chances with new and unusual things. Nintendo actually has felt like they have been in a rut. They are kinda like the guy at work that does his job so well he never gets promoted, because they don't want to lose his efforts in his current role. They don't have a high ceiling for growth, in terms of creativity.

I hope we never reach that dystopian era of all cloud-based, games as a service, no consoles...that sounds so sad.

Re: PS5 Stock Will Increase As Each Month Passes, Sony Hopes Situation Will Improve Quickly

BloodNinja

@Grayson_ Incel? Not sure what that is. Anyway, I don’t have anything to prove. There’s a class action lawsuit, are those people making up their hardware failures? You’re arguing with me over something I have nothing to do with. I’m just pointing out something that happened. Beating someone in an argument isn’t going to all of a sudden make the continued hardware failure of Nintendo and now Sony all of a sudden stop. Think with your head, bloke.

@bluedex Get 4, 5, and 6 as well. Avoid the PC/mobile ports, emulate them, if possible. 4 is great for the fun, light-hearted story. Worth at least one playthrough. 5 has A LOT of party customization with the class system, and hilarious story. 6 is a great all-around game, fantastic story, though a little on the easy side for an RPG. Still worth at least one playthrough for the story alone. It also has a lot of great party customization with the Esper system.

12 seems mixed. I hated it, felt too hands off and the story made me vomit (not literally.)

X was great, bad voice acting warning. 8 is hot garbage. 9 seems to be very well received, though I've never played it.

That's my two cents!

Re: This Is Why PS5 Controllers Drift

@Hyperluminal It's a miscommunication, because you're asking me things that are in the video. There's a screenshot where they list manufacturer's specifications, it's at the 2:40 mark. So I'm getting frustrated about arguing when something is right in there, so you may have skimmed past it or not even watched the vid.

I don't owe you any respect, I don't know anything about you. I'll give you common decency, but even that isn't worth giving to every single person who tries your patience.

Sorry, that's the kind of person I can be, I own it.

@Keyblade-Dan Really? That's intriguing. When I played 15, I felt like I could press anything and essentially just mash through any combat encounter. And I played the game on it's hardest difficulty. After playing games like DMC or Dark Souls, I just can't tolerate stuff like 15, where it's just vague button presses.

Thanks for the info, though. I'll keep an eye on it!

@Hyperluminal The manufacturer's estimates are for ALL their produced controllers, not just a single, tested one.

I can see at this point, you're just arguing for the sake of arguing, so I'll shove off.

@Hyperluminal It lists the number of button presses expected for failure, and the number of movements the stick can handle. That should give you an idea.

Email Sony, instead of asking on a Push Square forum.

@sanderson72 I think that’s a good theory. And yes, my dual shock has been fine and my Xbox 360 controller is finally seeing some hardware failure after 12 years. I think when the things are made correctly, they surely last their expected lifetime.

I wonder if recent console production has been rushed, leading to more hardware failure. Also worth noting, does the new Xbox also experience this? I don’t follow any Xbox news.

@Hyperluminal The video said after 400 hours of play, that in their tests they were experiencing drift. The video also showed the manufacturers estimates for the lifespan of each button, and the abysmal lifespan for the stick. Watch the video for that info, it’s fascinating.
