My favourite song on XV is Crystalline Chill, it's such a beautiful rendition of the classic theme tune.

This song wouldn't have been consistent with the soundtrack as it's like a proper metal song but I just thought I'd share it because it's awesome.

When I played the demo I found myself constantly squinting at the characters, it felt like either the camera is too far back or I need to sit in front of the TV.

If you think it's a me problem, maybe, but I don't have that problem with any other meteoidvania games, or 99% of games in general.

I plan to give Mindseye a punt when it's about £5 at Cex.

@sanderson72 Oh yeah I can't remember which Amiga magazine it was myself but I do remember playing a demo of it before getting the game! And then for some time after games would copy the explosion effect and magazines would call them the stardust explosions. I think? Or was that just me lol. A crappy but somewhat fun Amiga game called Watchtower had Stardust style explosions. That was the best thing about Watchtower..

Anyone else here played their earlier game Super Stardust on the Amiga?

Yeah the original was so hard that I remember getting very angry and wanting to throw the controller! But I liked it enough I guess because I did finish it. So I'm hoping this new incarnation is challenging but less frustrating.

I bought the game physically for £15 new about a month ago with the intention of starting it (for the first time ever) when the update hits. I did play the trial of it though ages ago.

I see it's on sale in the store now too. So shout out to the now banned JoeNobody who said to me:

"This game is not going to be on sale for a while. This year it will stay full price and most of next year will be the same. I love the constant updates and even more to do. These updates are another reason there will not be a sale anytime soon. They also made double their budget so a sale is not needed. Why give a sale when you can add more content, YouTube and Social media sharing will keep the game selling. No sale anytime soon."

@Miscellaneous_Me I am fortunate enough to already own a PC that's as good as a PS5, but I just prefer gaming on a console. I bought it mainly to develop games so I don't really want to work on it for hours and then game on it, but unless I buy another console like Switch 2 when discs are halted, I'll just have to game on PC.

@ShadowRJ Agreed, I am someone who has been vocally against Sony stopping discs in the future but I have still been buying digital and physical PS5 games. I don't plan on ever buying a PS6.

I WAS interested in this game..

I had this game and yet I am struggling to remember playing it, was probably couch co-op played. But I just can't remember, so it clearly had little impact on me and was quite forgettable. Yet I remember the PS2 LOTR games, even the ***** one.

The most I've ever paid for a digital game is about £22 so I think that answers what I am going to do, even if I loved GTA V (campaign only) and played them all since the first PS1 game.

I was going to buy GTA VI physically when it was assumed to come on a disc or two. I'm not buying it full price digitally, but my one less purchase is going to make next to no difference to them, sigh.

I played Procession on Gamepass, I love point and click games anyway but this one really stood out! Haven't played the other two so this is something I should buy! I'd buy it physically but guessing there won't be one.

Feels relatively futile to me.

I think if disc buyers truly impacted Sony enough, they'd only backtrack if in 2028, they experience a massive loss of profits from no discs, but I'm not holding my breath.

If it doesn't come out on PS5, it's not likely I'll play it because of reasons you all know why without me saying it.

But my point is, it's suddenly killing all enthusiasm for a forthcoming game and I hadn't felt that before.

@Imaculado_Lord Not directly, short of any DLC, but if PS5 had never had physical discs I wouldn't have bought one, and ergo I wouldn't have bought countless digital games alongside those physicals (both second hand and new) over the past 5 years. I can't be the only one.

@lacerz They will still continue to make plastic boxes with codes inside ala GTA VI, they don't care about things like the environment. They could have had cardboard boxes like on N64 so the only plastic is the disc, but nope, because they don't care. Although I'm pretty sure the AI factories are causing way more harm right now.

@UltimateOtaku91 I assume you mean both digital and physical games have increased in price, but in terms of physical, more people will buy preowned due to costs, in which case a valid point! You made it sound like digital is cheaper when it isn't.

@get2sammyb It's a shame that dlc purchases from second hand game sales is untrackable. Nobody would know those statistics I'm guessing.

There's loads of digital only games I would have bought physically had the option been there. You could argue they're not available because physical sales have declined, hmm..

Mindseye is £12 from Cex, when it's about £6 I might buy it lol.

I can't be the only one who has bought preowned games, and bought dlc off the store for those preowned games? It annoys me that this isn't considered whatsoever. Surely there must have been loads of second hand sales of Fifa where someone spend tons of those ultimate team point thingies.

I would like to know what the percentage of AAA games was digitally versus physically, would that be as bad as 15% then? Counting all digital sales of games is ridiculous, there's thousands of indie games not on disc.

I wonder how many people might have bought a second hand game but purchased DLC for it? I've done this. Just a thought.

I buy a mixture of new and second hand games. Most of my digital purchases are indie games not on disc.

@Skinny-Pete if nobody complained about anything Sonic the Hedgehog the movie would have had the original Sonic design everyone hated.

I'm not going to buy Plus for myself and Plus for my gf just to play Halo, definitely not buying that game unless they fix this.

There's nothing here I want to play that I haven't already but it is a strong lineup imo. My Plus expired last week and I didn't renew it, and this makes me currently okay with the fact I didn't.

I really wanted a new Spyro platform game like the PS1 originals. If you can fly at any time, I doubt I'm going to like this game, my enthusiasm is extremely low. I guess that's good, i can forget all about it lol.

The inclusion of split screen co-op makes it a lot more appealing, but it's going to be a pretty shallow game without the novelty of VR.

It garnered them this article so I guess it works to some degree!

@Balaam_ Huge respect to you for taking pride in not playing any old crap to get the numbers. I'd rather have my smaller amount of platinums than loads for games that took 5 minutes to obtain. (I have 64, and that encompasses back to PS3 games)

I don't have a strong opinion on this either way but I suppose it is true if Creed boxing VR had suddenly got cheats and 80% of players started getting the platinum when I was in something like less than 3% of people who earned it, I would feel annoyed.
