A couple of weeks ago, our brilliant community kicked off a PlayStation 4 screenshot competition. Judges RogerRoger, themcnoisy, and AdamNovice tasked our readers with presenting their finest screenshots in various categories, including Landscape, Character, and Action. Now, the results are in, and we've got the finalists all lined up for your viewing pleasure.
Below are the final 12 shots from the contest, leading up to the winning image. There's some real talent on display here. These screenshots are absolutely gorgeous; consider each of them stuck on the proverbial Push Square Towers refrigerator. A massive thanks to the aforementioned judges for organising this community event, and congrats to all the finalists. Without further ado, let's take a look at the shots that made the cut.
Note: Please be aware there may be one or two spoilers in the below images.

And there you have it! Congrats to kreativekontroll for taking the win. Again, the standard is very high across the board. We can't wait to see what you all come up with for next year's competition — especially as PS5 games will be in the running. Which is your favourite screenshot? Tell us in the comments section below.

The winner deserves it. Mind blowing shot!! I actually think about getting a painting of it.
Great fun to take part in, humbled to have even made the top 10! Huge congratulations to the winner, the quality was brilliant this year.
@nessisonett Great shot! Definitely my favorite.
Congrats to everyone!
I keep forgetting to participate in these. Maybe next time.
@huntbearpig Cheers! Took an absolute age to set up 😂😂
Will there be a PS5 competition ? I have a great screenshot from Demon's Souls. ^^
these were all really great. Great job folks.
I love the winner shot well done!
I've done better.
😜
Ha, probably Joel or RDR2 is my favourite but well done to all.
Dang, how did I not know about this? I have hundreds of screenshots on my PS4.
Oh well...
Next time Gadget, next time.
Nice job everyone.
Love this article congratulations to the top ten many thanks to @RogerRoger, @themcnoisy, and @AdamNovice.............if I had to choose it would be 'Silhouette' — Red Dead Redemption 2, by 0ld_boy.
To everyone who set this up and took part in it, thank you! The winning shot is truly epic. What a great reminder to all of us as to why we’re here: we love games. Thanks for bringing us together 👍
Excellent photos!!
Pretty much all from big budget hyper realistic AAA games using a build in photo editor. I would have loved to have seen more variety making the list, i.e. some more oddball games, or some photos that are still great despite showing a non-removable HUD.
@crimsontadpoles Jealous.
😜
Sometimes it's the fault of the games themselves, I would've taken loads whilst playing Persona 5 but alas it wasn't possible. I managed to take one from the opening sequence but they was it.
Also, these shots may look easy but they're really not.
Some really fantastic shots here. It’s great to see Ace Combat getting some love among the usual suspects as well.
@crimsontadpoles Well we did have an Ace Combat one and a MudRunner if I remember correctly. The problem is that some games are just really hard to take photos in that don’t have a big copyright logo on them or they don’t have the same level of control over the camera.
I have an awesome one from life of black tiger. I'll see if I can find it now.
Congrats to the winner, that shot is legendary. It's always great fun to be a part of this every year. So many great shots that aren't here, the quality is amazing, always.
The judges, though, are the real MVPs.
Was fun to have taken part even if I didn't crack the top 10. I'm still proud of my shots
I take it number 8 is a big spoiler then?
The Art of Gaming.
I like the Shadow of War one the best.
Did you guys only get 10 submissions for this or what, because most of these are not great. That winning shot is probably the most basic shot of them all. Seems more like the person who choose the winner just wanted Ghost to win something. To those saying they wish there was more variety, then just use ShareFactory video clips to make a screenshot.
@GamingVeteran I look forward to your excellent submissions next time. 😉
I’ll prepare to be blown away.
(And the final winner was chosen by a vote which was open to all Push Square users by the way, so there wasn’t any individual bias)
@Kang81 Yeah, I took some real bangers this year, too. Ah well.
These are pretty dead, as far as composition is concerned.
Some lovely pics here, number 3 was my favourite. Good to see so much GoT here and nice to see an Ace Combat pic too!
@Quintumply Great photos but can we get a SPOILER warning next time please
God, the critics in here are so damn tedious. Have you really got nothing better to do than crap on a fun little end of year screenshot comp? Grow up.
Great work from all involved!
@themightyant A fair comment, my bad.
@GamingVeteran what's hilarious about this comment is you have not only insulted the PushSquare community you have insulted everyone who entered. It's a bit of fun and tbh these pics all look amazing blown up at 1080p.
They're all great pics.
Well done all.
@TG16_IS_BAE what does that even mean? You were free to enter.
We may not be the screenshot equivalent of Steve McCurry or Sebastiou Salgado but every year the pics are better than the companies own marketing grabs.
I really like 8. 'The New Normal? is an outstanding photo.
@GamingVeteran @Grimwood @TG16_IS_BAE
I can't be too mad. I think everyone is entitled to an opinion, especially when it comes to something so subjective, but my only advice would be to check out the rest in the community. Some really good ones got left behind.
These are so much better than Sony's own weekly shots, well done all!
@themcnoisy I would say that the company’s marketing shots are much more well put together, in certain examples. The shots in this contest are pretty, but empty.
