@MrHabushi I dont know why youve replied to me yesterday then replied to me again today without me saying anything 😂 the point is they dont because the PS5 runs at a certain W usage no matter the game or how its optimised.. As it stands a game that could run on a PS2 would use the full wattage of the PS5 of up to 200w even though it doesnt need it. Now it could potentially use just 90w and run exactly the same as if it used the full power.
@ProfessorNiggle yes I know, my point was some games are so weak graphically that they wouldnt have to change their visual details to run on the PS5, even in low power mode.
@MrHabushi no it isnt. Hence me saying low graphical games. Ive just finished playing everybodys golf, a game that looks like it could run on a PS3. That would have no differences low power mode or normal mode.
I can see it being useful if a lot of games do it. For instance there's so many JRPGs that are graphically low and could run the same in the low power mode. It'd be worth switching for those
Better off buying elsewhere. £479 vs cheaper elsewhere with games included. And no cashback on PS direct vs up to £40+. You can probably save £100 by buying elsewhere. Thats better than 3 months premium
Can't believe that 40% less is still trying to be peddled. It was 40% less physical. When there is a 30% less install base today. 5 years on when a digital console didnt exist and far more people buy digital now. That was an incredible result for physical gaming. Plus the literal facts that even with the less install base it's not sold any less than GOT. Fantastic result for the studio
@Max_the_German Im playing Yotei with Ray Tracing at 60 fps with a comparable image to the quality mode which has no RT and is only 30 fps. And this is before the brand new PSSR itineration thats due. It cost me about 300 to upgrade, ill take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The Pro is always a console for the hard-core
People saying we dont need this - sure there hasn't been as many games this time. But the time for exclusives isnt as it was. My backlog has never been so big as it is now. October has like 8 games along I want. And it isnt releasing now. A few years is a long time. They can't just stop releasing consoles because game development takes longer now. Its the usual 7 year cycle.
This is very promising for physical tbh. There was about 30% more consoles available for Tsushima. And its only down by 40%. Taking into account the fact there wasnt a digital only console then too. The physical vs digital ratio is probably the same. Very good signs for physical 5 years on
What an outstanding use of the Pro. Comparable visuals to the 4K/30 quality mode and it's 60 FPS with Ray Tracing. I wish people would ditch UE5. Look at the results without it.
I really dont get this. Storage space is the one place that Sony dont need to save money on. Its plummeted in cost since 2020. Why bother to look idiots
@Rich33 I have a PC myself but I find it a pain tbh. No need ever talks about the drawbacks of PC gaming they just act elite. I dont use it much simply because I miss the plug and play aspect. Stuff just works on console. Plus the fact its absolutely miles cheaper to game simply for the fact games are physical
@Czar_Khastik you think it'll be cheaper? It'll be the opposite. They'll have the monopoly and can charge what they like. Frequently a game has been under £20 to buy physical and digitally its £60-70. Physical gaming is the cheapest way to game and its not even close.
@BecauseBecause see even day one purchases you can do that (if you get a decent amount of gaming time) my games cost between £5-10 after selling them. Believe it or not I actually made £10 more than I paid on AC Shadows because my Preorder came with the steel book which I sold for over £20 😂
@Dalamar depends really. As the leaks say its one game and staying turn based, if thats the case probably yes looking at the all the recent DQ remakes which are fantastic
Think some people here are forgetting GOT was 1080p/30 on the PS4. Sure Yotei doesnt look that much different but GOT was already stunning and it takes a hell of a lot of power to raise the resolution and and lock it to 60 instead of 30. And its obviously a better looking game than GOT too.
@get2sammyb basically this. People keep saying you dont need 60 fps for turn based. That part is true - but when you're inside a world map with the camera spinning you absolutely do. If this is 60 now thats piqued my interest
@BattleMonkey I thought the Pro pricing was slightly overcharged, it just needed a drive at that price point. I dont expect the PS6 to be much more powerful tbh. But anything over the cost of the Pro is suicide for them IMO. Given the fact its likely 2028 they probably can get the power to cost down below that. I dont think it'll have a drive either like the Pro to price it lower
@themightyant they do buy in bulk, but they'd also be buying in bulk today so it'd still be a fraction of the cost in 2020. Its a massive saving. I was saying the retail to give some idea how the SSD price has plummeted and theyre saving a fortune on them. And I very much doubt the GPU and CPU are more expensive today than they were 5-6 years ago. The only likely cost thats increased is manufacturing and distribution. But when the components are so much cheaper than 5-6 years ago theyre certainly making it and providing it to customers cheaper than they were.
@BattleMonkey easily in my opinion. PS6 wont be over £599. The Pro is an optional console so they can price it how they like and no one is excluded. The PS6 is needed to play games, and they need the masses to buy it to sell games. 799+ is suicide for them and it'll be another PS3 situation.
@themightyant the components are still massively cheaper though. That SSD cost at least £200 in 2020 and now you can get one for £50. £150 saving on just one thing.
@Rich33 same. I havent experienced stick drift and I have easily 7500 hours this gen (not 1 controller though). If you dont eat and use it or hammer it playing FPS games constantly youre fine. Its a minor issue imo
@LogicStrikesAgain some do. But 4K/60? It ain't many. On the newest games we're nowhere near it. Even when its 4K/30 its upscale 4K. And I have the Pro remember which isnt getting anywhere near either. Sure things progress fidelity wise, but on a PS5 Pro getting a game which isnt running visuals better than we've seen before (far from it) running at down to 720p native and dropping into the 30s frame rate wise? There's no excuses for that. Im not even asking for native 4K personally because its a waste of resources but in 2025 nothing should be dropping into the 30s frame rate on a PS5 Pro. And we've still barely seen much that looks better than RDR2 on a PS4 yet this gen. So all this power is being misused
There's always need for improvements. Look at the piss poor performance we're getting in some games already and theres still a few years of the gen left. This gen was touted as 4K/60. Im getting 720p, not even locked 60 and I have a PS5 PRO. What is that 😂😂😂
Genuinely dont know why UE5 keeps being used. The games dont look better and they always run like ass. Other engines would have had this game looking as good if not better and likely a stable 1440p/60
@4fold its a welcome bonus for me. I wont use it to 'cheat' but theres a few things that could make the platinum less of a grind. 1350 linked artes for example.

No budget for 60 fps though. Madness
