@Rambostjohn it won't even be 900 nevermind 1200. It'd be a financial disaster. They make that mistake with PS3 They need numbers on consoles to sell games and even 900 prices out practically everyone but the hardcore gamer. No matter how long it takes for it to be available at that price point they'll wait. They won't be releasing a 4 figure cost console. It probably won't be much of a step up from the Pro either. PSSR 3 or 4 will be doing the work.

Don't know why it bothers people. The original was littered with minigames and most in rebirth are optional. Even the card game you never had to play a single match to progress

That word to me is a game that was acclaimed you look back on after years, not something under a year old that had a decent public view of

@dark_knightmare2 tbh, they don't. 70% player rating on Steam. Compared to Mafia Definitive edition at 87% and Mafia 2 at 90%.

@dark_knightmare2 because beloved is an odd phrase to use for something that wasn't received great by the public. Don't get me wrong I'm a massive Mafia fan and have Platinumed all 4. But even I wouldn't say beloved. Beloved is something that's looked back on as something great by the masses.

FF9 and FF7 Rebirth are the only two I'm missing. Always said I wouldn't cheat to do the jump rope in 9 because that's absolutely possible. I just don't think that battle arena in rebirth is possible for me. Is a tempter just to have it done

I'd really hope Sony won't be silly enough to rush the PS6 after the PS3 price debacle. Sony need numbers on consoles. Anything over 700 rules out the casual gamers. I don't think it'll be any higher on release personally. When that release is poses the actual question. I don't think it'll be much more powerful than the Pro to cut costs. Because a console at 1000+ is DOA. That'll never happen.

@Balosi I dunno if it's a country thing but most people here do have one every 2 years, simply because they have a 2 year mobile contract and the phones included

@THEBrew because we're a console page. Naturally there will be a deep dive of every big release. Personally I'm liking seeing them analyse the 2 consoles so we know what we're getting

Not sold on the character designs. But as long as it's turn based I don't really care. They can't mess with that and the original version I thought they had. Maybe they're seen sense with the new version. Graphically I did expect more, it looks like a little like an XI DLC. But they're probably working on current gen hardware when it'll likely have a next gen release too.

Good stuff again. PSSR2 is a revelation and I'm so glad I took the plunge to upgrade

I hope it 8 is announced it's a reimagining not a remaster. As I played 8 recently on PC with 4K textures and it looked great. I doubt even an official remaster would look that good

Some of the comments here saying it still sounds bad 😂 it's one of the best gaming experiences I've had in 35 years of gaming. It's that good. Sure I get the story criticism (it's actually not that bad) and some of the quests are a little poor, but there's hundreds of them so that's to be expected. But on a pure gameplay and fun aspect, it's absolutely outstanding

It was just the arena, required you to be very good at the game and/or follow setup guides. I gave up tbh. Only the 2nd FF Platinum I don't have along with FF9 (I'll do that eventually)

@FamilyGuyFAN44 this. Anyone who thinks it's marginal hasn't seen one in the flesh tbh or just plays Fifa or 2K types of games. After PSSR 2 it's like moving to next gen imo. Wasn't great before that update but afterwards it's like a new console

Don't get me wrong I think it's still worth the money but let's be honest no one's buying it at the inflated price. If GTA does come this year. They'll drop the price back to what it was and it'll fly off the shelves

@Dan12836666 think the opposite tbh. 1000+ games for £7-8 a month is an absolute bargain. How much is gamepass now over £200 a year. And it was nearly 300 until they removed COD off it. For far less games too.

I'll stick to my yearly premium that's always in a 30% off when it renews. Genuinely no idea why people are now paying £96 a year for Essential when Premium/Extra are around £90 and £70 for 12 months.

Genuinely don't see the issue myself it's a bit of fun. I dont like AI when it's taking people's jobs or giving us gaming slop to play. But this isn't doing either. Sakaguchi clearly sees the fun in it as his 2D game has come to life and if he has no problem seeing it then I certainly have no right to complain. It's as I said, a bit of fun.

Personally it doesn't bother me either way. If they're on PC there's more money coming and more chance of sequels. But I can see why they want to keep games only on Playstation too

Somehow with how many JRPGs I've played I've slept on the Trails series. Chose to play the 1st two on Steam last year before these remakes were announced. Typical

I'd have always liked a controller with extra buttons but they always seem to place them where the fingers naturally sit. It always feels unnatural to me to have fingers gripping a button. One with buttons on top would be nice
