@StitchJones except it wasnt a broken game, was it? Ive experience 2 crashes on over 120 hours of gameplay. And every single quest has run out perfectly Games like skyrim scored 95+ were broken beyond belief. Even today its still broken πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ theyre fixing and improving a game multiple times bigger than skyrim within a few days so yes ill praise them. And most of the additions are QOL and actual player suggestions. When does that happen? But you'd know if you'd actually played it

@Fartingale unfinished πŸ˜‚ this game has 10x the content of most games and was a great experience day one. Theyre actively reading comments and implementing player suggestions within days. Which ive never seen in decades of gaming. Other devs would have left the game as is or took 6 months to implenment their own poor changes. They should be praised beyond belief.

Re: Game of the Month: Crimson Desert (March 2026)

Well deserved it's an outstanding experience and one of the best games I've played in the last 5 years. Still confuses me how a game can be marked down for a rough 60 fps mode when it's an added bonus. So if they only had a locked 30 fps mode. Players lose out but it scores higher because it doesn't include an optional higher frame rate mode that needs optimizing more? It's nonsense πŸ˜‚

Comments are crazy here. I'll play it when its done. People paying to beta test a game. It's literally impossible to iron every bug out on a game this scale before release. Look how the witcher 3 was for months and what that scored. And this is 5x bigger. Im 80 hours and ive seen 2 that were fixed when i reloaded. They're actually reading comments and suggestions and implementing the changes within days. Fantastic job from the devs. This game is an outstanding experience and I'm glad i jumped in day one so i sse the changes for myself. But they could leave the game as it is and it'd still be a generational game

Re: PS5 Hit Crimson Desert Might Have Divided Opinion, But It's Cracked 4 Million Sales in Two Weeks

Andy22385

@themightyant you can see for yourself with the steam tracking. I think it was 36% dislike on steam on day one, littered with people having under an hour playtime, rating it 0 just to rate it low and get refunded. Now each day its around 8 or 9% dislike. Because the proper players are doing it. And yes I agree a lot dont have time. But you can't play a monstrous game like this for a couple hours, see none of the game or the combat then rate it low. Dont buy a game this large if you don't plan to give it a chance.

And no absolutely any critic deserves an opinion after hitting the credits, but what you can't do it knock something down for having issues on a 60 fps mode. Every review mentions it and it's not right.

Re: PS5 Hit Crimson Desert Might Have Divided Opinion, But It's Cracked 4 Million Sales in Two Weeks

Andy22385

@themightyant like i say it was mixed on steam because people were rating it 0 without playing it. Once the actual players started playing it it rose sharply. And i agree the devs are at fault for the score it was given (mostly. You should never knock a game down on score for having a subpar performance mode) but the above and beyond effort they're putting in now makes up for it imo. And yes 8/10 is fine, great game. The 6/10 scores from this site are nonsense though. Especially as it arrived over a week after release so they had the extra benefit of solid updates

Re: PS5 Hit Crimson Desert Might Have Divided Opinion, But It's Cracked 4 Million Sales in Two Weeks

Andy22385

@themightyant most likely haven't played it though. How you can play this with the amount of content (and great content), varied creatures and bosses, visuals and just plain fun to be had and call it mid is beyond me. Ignoring the story it's the easiest 9 ive given, and likely even 9.5. And the fact the devs are implementing player suggestions within days is unheard of. Have to remember the ratings are heavily skewed too. Steam rating was 35% dislikes day one from people that hadn't played it and now it's at about 8% a day. PS score was full of people rating it 1/5 day one performance which is now largely fixed. The 6/10 scores like thid site gave it for performance issues which is irrelevant because the 30 fps mode runs great. But gave Dragon Dogma a 9/10 when the performance issues are worse than this, in a much smaller game.

Both will settle around a 9 or higher which puts it up there with the very best player rated games

Re: PS6 Could Be Cheaper Than Expected, Despite $1,000 Concerns

Andy22385

@Globo not necessarily a loss. But even if it's a small one that happens every gen. There's still 2-3 years in my opinion. And it does, like I say they need numbers on a new generation much much more than they need numbers on a Pro model. I don't think the 6 will be much of a step up from the Pro. PSSR will be doing all the work. I can actually see them concentrating on a better CPU in because that's the current issue. PSSR is handling the GPU side and thatll be far more advanced by then. Probably a small increase in GPU being 5 years newer. Naturally the SSD wont be changed. And probably a new 'gimmick' added as a selling point. If it released late 2028 I'd stab at 699 without a drive.

Re: Major Crimson Desert Patch Out Now on PS5, Makes Countless Gameplay Improvements

Andy22385

@Dogbreath thing is though, it's in essence a bonus mode. The 60 fps mode is bonus. They could have just offered a locked 30 mode only and it would have run perfect in that mode. GTA will do that, will it get marked down for it? Nope. It always bugs me when developers offer extra graphical modss then gdt knocked down for it like it isnt a bonus extra on top that you don't need to use.

Granted I am on the Pro, but you notice a drop from 60 to 40 instantly. I can remember it in one location where i had a lot of flying robot creatures chasing me and thats the only noticeable part of my playthrough so far. Everyone's focusing on tiny areas and ignoring the fact it runs great 99% of the time. As mentioned above with The Witcher 3, that had an area that was worse than anything in the whole of CD, it didnt lose a single mark for it.

And again, I didn't say there aren't problem areas, I said in my 60 hour game so far I've encountered one. So from that you can take they are incredibly rare

Re: PS6 Could Be Cheaper Than Expected, Despite $1,000 Concerns

@Frmknst that implies that PS6 is releasing now. Naturally itll have had a heavy price drop in the next 3 years or so before the 6 is out. I mean jesus it's even on sale now and this is before the rise next week. IMO they've done this to make everyone snap purchase now then when or if GTA releases in november they have a heavy drop and it all goes mad for GTA
