The next Sony-published game is right around the corner — the long-awaited Chinese action title, Lost Soul Aside.
Scheduled for release on 29th August 2025, a new post on the PS Blog details the PC and PS5 Pro versions of the game, and there's also a new making-of video showing off a bunch of footage.
As you'd expect from a game released by PlayStation itself, Lost Soul Aside will be making full use of PS5 Pro's capabilities.
On the enhanced hardware, the game will run at a dynamic 4K resolution "with enhanced ray-traced reflections, shadows, and global illumination".

Additionally, it'll produce "higher texture quality, more detailed particle effects, and even faster loading through the ultra-fast SSD".
Finally, PS5 Pro users can enjoy a "higher and more stable frame rate" than the base PS5 version.
On PC, the game is capable of running at a native 4K with all sorts of ray-tracing features. You'll also be able to sync Trophy data from the PC version to PS5 and vice versa, if you connect your PSN account.

Are you seeing this Konami/ Virtuos? 👀
Nice, pity Konami can't figure out ps5 pro 🤣
@Oram77 @Jrs1
Laughed hard when I read these comments.
Lets just hope they live up to their promises - should be easier as its UE4 (according to Fextralife I think it was who said this).
And to devs - if your base PS5 version cannot hold 60fps, for the love of sanity, dont increase all the visual settings for the Pro version to the point it cant either!!! Just give us the choice to run the PS5 version at higher framerate - even basic boost can raise 45fps to 60fps!
If this game was on UE5, it would also be running terribly on PS5 Pro, like MGS Delta.
"PS5 Pro users can enjoy a 'higher and more stable frame rate' than the base PS5 version."
While I'm excited for the game, this has me a tad worried that it might be another game that's been "fixed" on the Pro but has performance issues on the base PS5. Hopefully that's not the case though 🤞
@Rich33 Games like this and Stellar Blade prove that UE4 is still the better engine when used by a competent dev team.
Edit: to contunue the talk about engines, then Decima & Red are unmatched in my honest opinion
Minimum improvements maximum price the PS5 pro ladies and gentlemen 👏
@Rich33 Jedi Survivor and Hogwarts are also UE4 but run like total garbage on PC and took multiple patches to run ok on console
@JackiePriest The PC specs not telling us what resolutions and framerates are for each preset is suspicious
It's probably not going to be terrible on consoles since I'm sure as a Sony backed game they would be pushing them for it to run at least ok
@Oram77
Decima is amazing - so too is the engine Insomniac use, whatever its called (RT reflections etc, at dynamic 1440p, at framerates often well in excess of 60fps, on base PS5). And there are plenty of other good proprietary ones out there too.
UE5 is a joke at the moment, UE4 was (and still is) significantly better - Hogwarts Legacy and Stellar Blade look and run great in my opinion, amongst others, particularly on Pro.
Even saying all that, competent devs should be able to get significantly better results on Pro over base PS5 using UE5.
@ButWhy
Jedi Survivor took 1 proper patch to get running to a decent framerate on PS5, it just took them 6 months. According to DF all they did was remove the forced RT that should never have been there in the first place (there was a toggle to turn it off on PC).
PC is a different matter, and Im not sure of the reasons there.
The Pro patch was also a different matter entirely - where (IIRC) the devs badly implemented a potentially old build of PSSR. I think its fixed now, but would need to run it.
This was the game that stopped me pre ordering games, apart from Sony 1st Party.
Hogwarts Legacy - I have had this game since launch, and have always found it to be quite impressive indeed. I have always used the standard Performance mode with uncapped framerate (120Hz VRR) though, so cant say for the other modes.
Its Pro enhancement was also good in this mode with a good visual upgrade including PSSR, resolution, LODs and other settings. Everyone talks about the 30fps RT mode they added (which wasn't optimised well), but the standard Performance mode was where the major upgrade was.
Anyone know when the review embargo is up?
Graphics in this trailer looks pretty good, and the combat looks interesting. It's like they're getting better with each trailer. Still looks pretty derivative overall. If you told me this was a FF16 DLC I'd believe it. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
Lol if you casually see this you may think is some spinoff where you play as Noctis. PC specs seem reasonable. Looking forward to some reviews. Still, it seems to be on the expensive side with 70€ steam preorder.
@Ricky-Spanish seems like this a great Pro version though?

@belmont
I bought the Steam version, for 52 euros on Eneba.
I only buy games during sales, on Steam.
Brand new games are much cheaper on CDKey's, Eneba etc.
Bought Cronos, for only 30 euros.
Bought the deluxe pre order to support the dev/s.. can't wait! So close!
@Exerion76 Yeah, I know but most people don't. I got Silent Hill 2 on launch day from CDkeys for 51€.
Where did you find Cronos? I cannot seem to find it, not even in greenman.
@belmont
You can find it here. I always use Allkeyshop, to search for the cheapest store. I see that Cronos costs around 40 euros now. Still a good price.

@Exerion76 Thanks! It wasn't there when I looked it yesterday. Maybe it was a regional thing.
@belmont
Yeah, could have been. But it can change from day to day.
Hope you find a good deal
@Ricky-Spanish is to me? Quality mode visuals at performance mode frame rates. Literally how the Pro was advertised so whats the issue.
@Andy22385 The issue is minimal improvement maximum price that's just my personal view you obviously seem to think it's worth it so be happy 😃
It really doesn't matter if I don't think it's value or not if you enjoy it!
