Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

Andy22385

I dont see who its for to be honest. It depends on the price. If its under £500 itll probably do ok. But it isnt making PS5 users move, steam only for the casual user..why ditch your PS5 for that? And PC guys want the customisation, stuck at 8GB VRAM and something only as powerful as a PS5. Really dont see who it is for

Re: All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support

Andy22385

@MrHabushi but it doesnt run at 90w. Thats the main point. Gamed could run at this wattage and run exactly the same as they do now. Yes Sonys word is correct, some games will scale back performance to run at 90w. But some won't need to scale back performance to do that, thats the point

Re: All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support

Andy22385

@MrHabushi I dont know why youve replied to me yesterday then replied to me again today without me saying anything 😂 the point is they dont because the PS5 runs at a certain W usage no matter the game or how its optimised.. As it stands a game that could run on a PS2 would use the full wattage of the PS5 of up to 200w even though it doesnt need it. Now it could potentially use just 90w and run exactly the same as if it used the full power.

Re: All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support

Andy22385

@MrHabushi no it isnt. Hence me saying low graphical games. Ive just finished playing everybodys golf, a game that looks like it could run on a PS3. That would have no differences low power mode or normal mode.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Is Sony's Biggest PS5 Launch Since Spider-Man 2 in Europe

Andy22385

Can't believe that 40% less is still trying to be peddled. It was 40% less physical. When there is a 30% less install base today. 5 years on when a digital console didnt exist and far more people buy digital now. That was an incredible result for physical gaming. Plus the literal facts that even with the less install base it's not sold any less than GOT. Fantastic result for the studio

Re: PS6 Manufacturing Scheduled to Get Underway in Early 2027

Andy22385

@Max_the_German Im playing Yotei with Ray Tracing at 60 fps with a comparable image to the quality mode which has no RT and is only 30 fps. And this is before the brand new PSSR itineration thats due. It cost me about 300 to upgrade, ill take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The Pro is always a console for the hard-core

Re: PS6 Release Date Touted for 2027, Cheaper But Less Powerful Than Next Xbox

Andy22385

People saying we dont need this - sure there hasn't been as many games this time. But the time for exclusives isnt as it was. My backlog has never been so big as it is now. October has like 8 games along I want. And it isnt releasing now. A few years is a long time. They can't just stop releasing consoles because game development takes longer now. Its the usual 7 year cycle.

Re: Rumour: To Avoid Even More PS5 Price Increases, Digital Edition to Get Reduced SSD Space

Andy22385

@BattleMonkey I thought the Pro pricing was slightly overcharged, it just needed a drive at that price point. I dont expect the PS6 to be much more powerful tbh. But anything over the cost of the Pro is suicide for them IMO. Given the fact its likely 2028 they probably can get the power to cost down below that. I dont think it'll have a drive either like the Pro to price it lower

Re: Rumour: To Avoid Even More PS5 Price Increases, Digital Edition to Get Reduced SSD Space

@themightyant they do buy in bulk, but they'd also be buying in bulk today so it'd still be a fraction of the cost in 2020. Its a massive saving. I was saying the retail to give some idea how the SSD price has plummeted and theyre saving a fortune on them. And I very much doubt the GPU and CPU are more expensive today than they were 5-6 years ago. The only likely cost thats increased is manufacturing and distribution. But when the components are so much cheaper than 5-6 years ago theyre certainly making it and providing it to customers cheaper than they were.
