Only gave DF access to the PS5 Pro version AND snuck in Denuvo for the PC with one week to go. This is obviously shady. And after all that complaining from the devs. Pathetic.

The GameBoy got me back into Lego. Since then, I've put together several sets including a generic arcade cabinet. I think they've figured me out because this is going to be one of those sets that gets me to camp on the website the night of release. The leaker also mentioned a Mario Bros. arcade cabinet. This is going to be expensive.

Real missed opportunity to not pivot to live service. I mean... it would have made me laugh.

I know Cyberpunk is the example that gets brought up all the time but remember how Control ran like hot garbage on the base PS4? Anyway, sure. Wait on reviews. It's 2026. If you're not doing that already...

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a team that has been working on a Cassie Drake led game for a while. It also wouldn't surprise me if that team was constantly being pulled from that project to run support on whatever live service game was about to fail.

If it's two minutes of fighting followed by 20 minutes of cutscene followed by two more minutes of fighting then 30 minutes of cutscene then 30 seconds of fighting followed by the entire LOTR extended trilogy.... it's gonna be a no for me.

This sounds like some really expensive motion smoothing with similar quality. But pour more AI on it and that'll solve everything, right? RIGHT?!

Oh dear. A movie could be cool and all but I'd much rather have all that talent focused on a third game. Still... if he feels he'd rather work on something else, good for him.

Once again the people who made the bad decisions get to continue making terrible decisions and the people responsible for the actual game making are the ones who suffer. Sony... do you want me to get into PC gaming because it really feels like you don't want my money anymore.

This looks very cool and I'll definitely check it out. Just don't know if I'll do so on PSVR2 or Quest. PSVR2 will likely look much better. But if I get it on Quest, I'll still have it years from now when I have my Quest 4 or 5 while there will never be a PSVR3.

It's the only reason I have the disc drive in the first place.

Someday we'll have to study why watching live service failures is so entertaining. I've never actually rooted for a game to fail. But watching them crash and burn when it was obviously a horrible idea from the start provides a good mix of satisfaction and schadenfreude. It'd be different if it weren't so nakedly a bunch of clueless executives pushing an industry they don't understand in directions it doesn't want to go in. But it is.

I got a PSVR2 survey from Sony recently where I told them that seeing as there won't be a PSVR3, I'm looking elsewhere to build my VR library. Pretty sure the survey itself was their internal postmortem.

Maybe it wouldn't be this bad if they hadn't closed the show with the announcement. Maybe. But they're still trying to peel players off of Overwatch and we already know that doesn't happen. "Overwatch only better" isn't getting anyone to switch. It takes an altogether different game. How many abysmal failures will it take for the industry to learn this simple lesson?

The old kid's game show, Double Dare, rarely generated as much slop as that response.

For the life of me, I will never understand the petty gatekeeping surrounding Yakuza games and the English dubs. I play most of them in Japanese but if you like the dub and anyone tries to make you feel bad about it, that person is a jackass.

The lack of Kingdom Come Deliverance II from the early categories is an oversight I wouldn't have made but I understand.

Having a category for PSVR2 games and not listing Arken Age means they don't have the first clue as to what's happening on their own platform. What a joke.

Reading these comments makes it obvious that some of you were upset that the console wars ended and you're really hoping to start them up again. It's going to be more expensive than a PS5 and it's pretty silly to expect it not to be.

As a huge fan of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 I now hate Expedition 33 and hope it loses everything. Then I'll change my mind when I finally get around to playing it myself. Such is the life we've chosen.

No, I've actually zero desire for a low effort, AI infused, gacha game on the PS5. But clearly people like slop so...

I plan on getting the Frame VR headset and a Steam Machine. It will replace my PSVR2 and offer me a pain free entry point to PC gaming. But I doubt that it'll change anything about my regular PS5 console gaming. If anything, it might mean that I wait on a PS6 instead of snagging one at launch.

I've played through the game twice now. Once at launch and again when Hardcore mode was released. I haven't touched DLC 2 or 3 so I may be loading it up again over the holidays to wrap those up. Brilliant game and one that I'll likely be playing from time to time from now on.

Seeing as the input lag is the worst on PS5 and PS5 is the only one issuing refunds, it's safe to say that THAT'S the reason and not any of this BS about the game being too hard. Total mischaracterization of the complaints here in order to make them look foolish.

Oh. I didn't realize that I'm wrong about not liking a game when a certain percentage of critics did like it.

@JimmyRiddle Just Cause 3 is still my high watermark for any traversal system. I don't think I ever used fast travel the entire time.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II is my current game of a lifetime. I really hope that it's able to snag an award or two this season.

PSVR2 got me into VR and I'm definitely interested in playing this. But I recently picked up a Quest 3S to do other stuff in VR. It's great and it doesn't make me as ill as the PSVR2 does when it uses reprojection.
But I have to start thinking about continuity and backlog preservation. Let's be real... there won't be a PSVR3. There will likely be future Meta headsets. So now I have to ask myself where I'd like to build my VR library.

Everyone here is familiar with the Grandpa Simpson meme regarding "it" and being "with" whatever "it" happened to be, right? Well TikTok is weird and scary to me. But I'm old so this doesn't even involve me. The important thing is that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time.

Seeing as Dragon Warrior was my very first JRPG, I've waited for this to be my first HD-2D RPG. I love the look but just hadn't gotten around to trying Octopath or any of the others yet. Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.

While I waited 2 years for a PS5, I'd likely go for a PS6 at launch. That has nothing to do with Sony's timing and everything to do with where I was/am personally and financially.

Today I learned that I'm a whale; a whale that waits for sales. I've bought 32 games so far in 2025. Six of them were the pixel remasters of Final Fantasy I-VI and several were PSVR2 games that I bought after dropping PS+ Premium, but it's still a pretty typical year so far. Infinite Wealth, Gears of War, and Maestro were the only day 1 purchases but Dragon Quest I & II and Pools will be added to that list in a few weeks. And then I'll probably pick up several more in the post Christmas sale.

I've never felt overly partial to blue. Blue is nice and all but nothing special. Also odd colored controllers are nice but nothing special. But... this controller is calling to me. It's a strange siren song but it's undeniably there. I think that I have to have this one but I'm still unclear as to why.
