Joanne clearly didn't read a single thing on game theory before designing the sport and it really shows.

Finally got around to playing the Advance Collection this past Spring so I'm in need of some new Castlevania games. These and their soundtracks will do nicely.

@DennisReynolds Like I said, this was my most anticipated game. So I've read a bunch of the preview impressions. Zero people played it solo with AI squadmates who enjoyed it. All the praise is for co-op play, even in the campaign. You mentioned games that had single player campaigns that were designed as single player campaigns. I'm saying this one isn't one of those. If I'm wrong, I'll be happy and I will buy this. I'm not going to be wrong.

@DennisReynolds Did Gears and Halo just have a bunch of previews stating as much? No? Then what are you on about? We're talking about a game that hasn't come out yet and the impressions being shared. You seem to be stuck on the marketing hype and are thinking about other games you like.

@DennisReynolds What part didn't you understand? A solo campaign designed around co-op isn't a good solo campaign. All the previews say that squadding up with friends is awesome. If they mention playing with AI squadmates at all, it's to say that it sucks.

I'd love to hear a single positive thing about playing it solo with AI squadmates. Until then, this is just another multiplayer attempt at being a forever game that I have zero interest in. This went from my most anticipated game of 2024 to being dropped right off my radar thanks to these previews.

@dskatter An actual defense of it? Wow! Now tell us how getting rid of the music actually fits with an anti-corporate theme that runs throughout the sexy zombie killing game.

@Nepp67 I saw that but, as you pointed out, it makes zero sense. Yes, you can bring the gore back but why did they take it away at all?

@ShogunRok That's what I assumed too until these previews came in. Nothing in them looks good for solo players. Digital Trends even calls it out directly. The rest, including the one on which we're commenting, paint a dire picture.

@ShogunRok That doesn't answer the questions asked at all. We know solo exists as an option. Is it any good or do you need to play co-op in order to actually enjoy the game? Based on this preview (and a few others I've read today), I've taken it off my wishlist because the solo player is clearly an afterthought here.

If the focus is co-op, then I'll pass. If it's the sort of game that you can play solo but it's not really how it's intended, then I'll pass. The first game had a great solo campaign and this whole preview just turned me right off.

@8bitOG Yes, that is exactly what I mean. 5-8 years which is not "constant." And the pro models would be less than that which, if you read carefully, is what I'm criticizing.

I'm going to be fairly unhappy if this is the norm. 60 fps needs to be available on base PS5. If it isn't, we're just going to go through this again with the next generation of consoles. We have consoles BECAUSE they're not PCs and we don't want to update them constantly.

The original game also had multiplayer which I heard was kinda fun. I never played it because I rented it from GameFly and it had one of those passes to prevent renters from playing the MP. Remember those?

Got the platinum just last week so I will absolutely dive back in tonight for some kaiju action.

The first game's mission structures were amazing and left so much room for alternatives that aren't spelled out for you; I just want more of that. Better facial animations are great and I'm glad we'll have them but it's not what's bringing me to the game.

Could this mean that CoD isn't the #1 selling game of the year for two years running? If Madden or the College Football game do well enough, and enough people play CoD on XBox, is it possible?

They don't want to become framerate snobs. It happened to me after only 2 PS5 games. It's a problem.

Nothing for me except maaaaybe Tunic. But it feels difficult to say it's a bad month when one of the biggest franchises in the world is included.

My favorite game from PS4 is getting a sequel! This is as excited for a game as I think I've ever been.

If this was different in any way from Ubisoft's usual practice, I can see getting upset. But it's not. This is the case with every Ubisoft open world game. I look forward to more "water is wet" articles.

How are people confused? Nearly every Ubisoft game has a season pass that gives access to DLC. I usually find everything above that (cosmetics, grind reducers, etc.) unnecessary. I also usually find the game and season pass on sale for $20-$30 a year after release. Pay attention people.

I never cared about framerates until I got the PS5 and had a consistent 60 fps across many titles. It's ruined me. I know people say that ironically but it has literally ruined 30 fps for me. It looks like trash.

So we got Far Cry: Avatar and we're getting Far Cry: Star Wars. I think it's time for Far Cry: Joes vs. Cobras. I actually enjoy the Ubisoft checkbox open worlds for what they are so I'm only slightly joking.

PlayStation is now run by a numbers guys who doesn't care about the product even a little bit. I need to see that someone... ANYONE at PlayStation is interested in making money via good games instead of exploiting a captive audience. I'm not confident.

Been looking forward to this one so this is fantastic news.

Hoping a game fails feels weird and bad. But that's what the push towards live service has brought us to. I hope they all fail so hard that developers finally realize that Epic fell ass backwards into a live service success and no one will ever replicate it directly. Make a fun game first. They understood this before Fortnite. Maybe they will again.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around a console fanboy getting upset over a game going multi-platform. And yet I have an even harder time imagining a single one of those XBox fanboys being appeased by this statement.

I anxiously read every one of these articles dreading the day I come across, "Embracer to shutter Warhorse Studios." I want Kingdom Come 2 and I'm not very confident that I'll get it.

I switched from XBox 360 to PS4 and haven't looked back... except for the fact that I miss Gears of War. I'd buy a collection on day one.
