I've never felt overly partial to blue. Blue is nice and all but nothing special. Also odd colored controllers are nice but nothing special. But... this controller is calling to me. It's a strange siren song but it's undeniably there. I think that I have to have this one but I'm still unclear as to why.
I was so bored playing God of War Ragnarok that I bounced. But it wasn't because of the same-y story, it was because the game has the worst pacing of any story I've ever experienced.
If ever there was a "wait for reviews" situation, this is it. Looks like it could be a crass knock-off or a brilliant overtaking of Disco Elysium. Where exactly it falls in between those two remains to be seen.
@PuppetMaster To each their own obviously but hard disagree. I only play in English when Kasuga is the protagonist but I really like the new English VA for Kiryu. He sounds a lot more like voice in my head when I'm reading subtitles in the Japanese version, if you follow my meaning. I'll be playing this one in Japanese but felt I'd add that some of us like the new guy.
PSSR can't help but remind me of their AI insertion of frames on PSVR2 using reprojection. It's awful and it literally makes me sick. I am now at the point where I won't buy games that use it. So did Sony just jump on the AI bandwagon too soon (like every other company on Earth)?
I would love to point out the silliness of the censorship but I'm American so I think I'll sit out on the next several of these. Who builds a house out of glass? Honestly!
This one's been in the wishlist since it was announced. Sometimes I want to "just be" in another place in VR. Most of the time, that's a calm nature scene. Time to find out if "general unease" is also attainable.
When Dead Island 2 was free on PS+, I said that I'd try it but I would bounce off the first second that I got bored or frustrated. I didn't expect to finish it. 25 gameplay hours later I had the platinum. I was shocked by its adequacy. I'll give 3 a shot when it's out.
The upgrade seems to be a separate product from both the PS4 and the PS5 versions, which are also separate. That's how it looked on my app anyway. 3 listings in total.
FromSoftware's Soulslikes and Bethesda RPGs are two types of game that I just can't seem to get into. That said, I keep trying them. If this is different enough from their others, it could be for me. I'll probably give it a shot.
The PS4 version actually runs a heck of a lot better on PS5. The load times are significantly reduced and there's far less pop in. That said, it could be better and this will be welcome. Crap. I'm just realizing that it's a new set of trophies. I'm gonna have to do King Charming again.
Is it at all possible that they're waiting to see how well Gears does next month? It's likely to do well but could they still be calibrating how much effort is worth it when it comes to these things? Or will Gears be so big as to label it's sales as an outlier?
I enjoyed the movie. But then I read a review from someone who'd never played the game. They had tons of questions. I realized that they were legit questions that I only knew the answers to because I'd played the games. So yeah, it didn't do the job. Maybe this will.
Anything with better pacing than Ragnarok. Everything else about that game from the story to the action to the performances was top notch. Then it was ruined by the worst pacing of any game that I've played. Playtest the whole thing, not just in sections is what I'm asking for.
@DennisReynolds If even people who love the game are willing to admit that the solo play stinks, it demonstrates that I'm not expressing some outsider opinion. And there are plenty of people being honest about it. When a dev sells a game as being playable solo but, after release, it becomes obvious that solo play was an afterthought--a crumb for the solitary--that's a lie. They swore up and down that they had no interest in supporting a live service title but here it is; years long multiplayer support. That's live service and it has existed longer than the term. And seeing as you love being lied to... you know exactly what live service is and aren't simply associating it with "bad."
@DennisReynolds First off, you're the one who brought up a single person's opinion (yours) in order to suggest that I was incorrect about the campaign being crap with AI squadmates. I'm the one who's explaining to you how opinions work. And yes, all those titles are live service which isn't inherently a bad thing. Unless of course the developers swore up and down that they weren't making a live service title. Saber did. That was a lie. If you like being lied to, I'm happy you found a developer who treats you that way.
@DennisReynolds It is not at all difficult to find many who disagree with your assessment of the solo campaign. Opinions there are going to vary obviously. But this is a live service game and we were all lied to about that. It should bother you even if you enjoyed the game. I know it won't though.
@awp69 They're up now. I'm having the same issue with Diablo IV. Neither version is listed as included. Just a $70 bundle and the base game which is "unavailable." That's how it is in the app right now for me anyway.
I remember back before the game was released, I mentioned that it looked like a live service, multiplayer focused game where the campaign wouldn't be fun to play solo. I was called all sorts of names and told I was looking for something to hate. I'm gonna go ahead and rest my case now.
@Orpheus79V If I recall correctly, the initial version of RE 4 became Devil May Cry which is nuts to consider. But I admit that I'm less familiar with the story behind 2s development. I'll check it out.
@UncleByron I'm being piled on for going against the groupthink which is "Yay! They're giving us what we want!" I'm saying that exploring open world/online options was a waste of time regardless of how long it took them. You're disagreeing with me. What part am I getting wrong here?
Suda 51, a decent looking PSVR2 game, and James Bond. I was very happy. Not a fighting game person but the gravity of the announcement was felt regardless.

Re: Mega Publisher EA Agrees to $55 Billion Buyout by Saudi Arabia, Silver Lake, Affinity Partners
It means I wouldn't even buy a Dead Space 2 remake at this point. And that's a truly odd place to be.

Good. I want this State of Play to be a deep dive on Sony's next big hit, Fairgame$. Remember Fairgame$?
Re: New PlayStation Rewards Program to Offer Exclusive Merch, Starts Today
A good compromise? We're playing for the privilege of paying for merch. That sucks and no amount of spin is going to make it comparable to PS Stars.

Polygon's review is out and they say it's for the Switch 2 version. I'm pretty sure that's a misprint as that's not a thing, right?

That was a very fun trailer. Thank you. Now back to my regularly scheduled "not thinking about Fortnite," which should last me for the next few years.

@get2sammyb That's fair. It'd be a shame if the goofiness was solely in those "90s movies" he made.

We don't deserve Karl Urban. He's been too good to us for too long.

Great! Games that pivot midway through development always turn out great, right? What's that?
EDIT partway? halfway? It means the same result; a disjointed mess.
