Re: 'We're Discussing Ways to Improve': Marathon Dev Tweaking Monetisation and Difficulty as FPS Fails to Blow Up

zhoont

Am I enjoying it? I'm having a blast, I'm totally hooked, I absolutely LOVE it. I love the art style, the gameplay, the lore & graphics, environments, sound design, PVP, PVE, I even like the menus! The map design is AMAZING. There is so much to learn and do on every map. I'm loving the gameplay loop and dying has just felt like an opportunity to try new shells, use new things from my vault, or try Rook- who is one of the coolest ways to play multiplayer game I've experienced. Marathon is already one of my favorite games of all time.

Re: 'It's a Terrible First-Party Game': God of War Creator Expands on PS5 Side-Scroller Criticism

zhoont

I think Jaffe is an awesome creator, a smart guy, and honest as all hell. He is right, the game should not have seen the light of day in this state. First party is about curation and putting out games that are the top of the genre. This game is not that, it isn't worthy of the God of War name. Jaffe is right, Shuhei Yoshida would have cancelled this rather than put it out with God of War's name.
Also, why is everyone so angry at him? All these comments and everywhere online I see people being so negative. His opinion might not be your opinion, that doesn't make it a problem or worthless. He's a legendary dude and he's just giving his opinion on another entry into the franchise he created. Would people be this angry at George Lucas for commenting on new Star Wars tv?

Re: Naughty Dog Forces Crunch to Get PS5 Exclusive Intergalactic 'Back on Track' for Mid 2027 Release

zhoont

The problem with this is that the Last of Us Part 2 documentary they put out with the PS5 re-release had discussions about how they worked very hard over COVID to revolutionize their development strategies and get rid of crunch for good. Then they cancelled the multiplayer project, and now this? Annoying, and worrying. We'll see if they can deliver on Heretic because the bar is insanely high, again

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (November 2025)

zhoont

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 would be GOTY material right now if it wasn't prone to spawning artifacts underground and enemies right behind you. And you run extremely slowly compared to SoC. And objects can be thrown at you right through map geometry. And you will die hundreds of times and wait 30 seconds to reset.

Re: 'Everyone Told Us Not to Do It': Dispatch Producer Says Episodic Release Was Deemed 'Insane'

zhoont

Generally episodic was a failure because the games were succeeding despite episodic format. I think the original Life is Strange was very interesting in an episodic format, but not release-schedule-wise, just to separate the story into memorable segments. I think Alan Wake 2 is an example of using episodic formatting to deliver intriguing story alongside great music. Another game, TLOU 2, is also somewhat set out in episodic format in an adjacent manner and it really suceeded for me since day 1.

Re: New Weapons, Stratagems Take Helldivers 2 to the Jungle in Latest Premium Warbond

zhoont

There's now around $170 of Premium Warbonds that are locking weapons, stratagems, grenades, and specializations behind a paywall. And after 60 hours I only got enough in-game currency for 1.5 of them. I paid good money for the game and it sucks that it's so expensive if I want to experience more of the post-launch support than just maps and enemies. I don't know why it isn't talked about more, but the monetization is a bummer.

Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026

zhoont

"There will be no multiplayer included." Are you f-ing kidding me? Lmao what a useless game. If the master chief collection hasn't been announced (preferably already released!) on PS5 by the time this remake hits, it will be such a buzz kill. Halo is and always has been about MULTIPLAYER!!! Forge and Multiplayer are more of Halo than the single-player EVER has been. Microsoft, please

Re: First PS Plus Extra Game for October 2025 Leaked

zhoont

Every game that I buy has decided to come to PS Plus to mock me. $40 on WWE2K25, and then it comes a month later. $40 on Silent Hill 2 and then it comes a month later. Next you're gonna tell me Ghost of Yotei is coming to PS Plus in December and I'm gonna crap a brick

Re: Huge STALKER 2 Update Out Now Ahead of Open World's PS5 Release This November

zhoont

I played the Stalker collection of the older games on PS5 this year. Some of my new favorite games ever. The middle one (Clear Sky) is complete unplayable garbage, but Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat are GOATed games. They play so well even now, I feel. I have been interested in Stalker 2 since it was unveiled in what, 2019? Very excited to get my hands on it. I think it's in my top 5 most anticipated games.

Re: What PS5 Games Have the Best Graphics?

zhoont

The Last of Us Part 2 is flawlessly true to life.
The Alan Wake 2 has unmatched lighting and visual design.
Horizon Forbidden West has the most flawless 4k texturing with a great 40fps mode.
And I'm really surprised at how much Sword Of The Sea impresses with its art design and colors.

Re: Sony's Slowly Restoring Lost PS3 Avatars After Two Month Absence

zhoont

@RawnDawn All 141 avatars are back on PS5! Thanks for the @, mate. Very happy they took the time to fix this- the reason I got so many was I figured my avatar purchases would be honored on my account until I die or the apocalypse, not that they'd die with my PS3. Finally, some good news
