S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 would be GOTY material right now if it wasn't prone to spawning artifacts underground and enemies right behind you. And you run extremely slowly compared to SoC. And objects can be thrown at you right through map geometry. And you will die hundreds of times and wait 30 seconds to reset.

Generally episodic was a failure because the games were succeeding despite episodic format. I think the original Life is Strange was very interesting in an episodic format, but not release-schedule-wise, just to separate the story into memorable segments. I think Alan Wake 2 is an example of using episodic formatting to deliver intriguing story alongside great music. Another game, TLOU 2, is also somewhat set out in episodic format in an adjacent manner and it really suceeded for me since day 1.

You forgot TLOU 2. Big ups Alan Wake 2, though. Well deserved. I am surprised Elden Ring isn't here though.

The game library is unbelievably good. It's all of PS4, plus all of PS5, plus classics, plus remasters & remakes, there's more good game to play now than ever in history. And they're so accessible and often cheap. Best console ever, for me.

There's now around $170 of Premium Warbonds that are locking weapons, stratagems, grenades, and specializations behind a paywall. And after 60 hours I only got enough in-game currency for 1.5 of them. I paid good money for the game and it sucks that it's so expensive if I want to experience more of the post-launch support than just maps and enemies. I don't know why it isn't talked about more, but the monetization is a bummer.

I played the Stalker collection of the older games on PS5 this year. Some of my new favorite games ever. The middle one (Clear Sky) is complete unplayable garbage, but Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat are GOATed games. They play so well even now, I feel. I have been interested in Stalker 2 since it was unveiled in what, 2019? Very excited to get my hands on it. I think it's in my top 5 most anticipated games.

The Last of Us Part 2 is flawlessly true to life.
The Alan Wake 2 has unmatched lighting and visual design.
Horizon Forbidden West has the most flawless 4k texturing with a great 40fps mode.
And I'm really surprised at how much Sword Of The Sea impresses with its art design and colors.

Nice I bought this WWE game a couple weeks ago, thought I was getting a steal. Turns out I was just setting myself up for disappointment. Literally hundreds of games on my wishlist and somehow still get stiffed

I think the first hour of this game is really damn good. You get straight into the gameplay and the gorgeous environment and awesome systems. Please give it a try

This is a good game, and many will put dozens of hours into it. But it just could have been so much more, and it didn't live up to the promise. The opportunity cost was also enormous. Still, I am glad Bethesda got to make their pet project because now they're going to bounce between Elder Scrolls and Fallout until probably long after I'm dead.

I only played State of Decay 2, but man did I love that game. Have gone back a couple times just to get another taste, because it ***** rocks. The gameplay loop is soooo satisfying- might be on of the best gameplay loops I've ever played tbh, just lacking in story and characters

@CottonModem your comment confuses me because it's just.. wrong? I and others had been able to see our PS3 avatars on PS5. I was buying new PS3 avatars in 2024 and 2025 and changing between them on my PS5.

I'm just cheesed because I thought buying all these avatars I really liked was going to be future proofing my avatar choices since PS5 has stopped adding very many at all, but now it's probably going to be the case that all those aavtars I got will die with my PS3. I need to test if I can see these avatars on PS4 as well as PS3, and it's just the PS5 and PS App which can't see most of them.

@RawnDawn right now it seems like the 150+ or so avatars I have purchased on my PS3 since early 2024 are all able to be downloaded from the PlayStation store on PS3 (from "View Downloads") and then set under Account Management on the XMB. Unfortunately, you have to download them one-by-one and after 30 or so downloads your console will start giving you an error message when you try to download more or go to account management until you restart the console.

@ThatVSMbro You can change your profile picture on the PS App (or website?) to any picture you upload which only shows to yourself and your close friends while you still have the underlying Avatar shown to everyone else and in games that show avatars.

I have lost at least 50, maybe up to 100 of the PS3 avatars I bought this year on my PS3. Nice, this really sucks a lot

I think I spent $20 on PS3 avatars THIS YEAR, so I hope to God they're intact
