Re: "Most of the Devs" Reportedly Laid Off from The Callisto Protocol Studio, Striking Distance

zhoont

It's just so sad to me still that The Callisto Protocol "failed". I love the game, it's absolutely awesome and I really enjoy the combat and main character. For me it does lack enemy variety compared to Dead Space on paper, and the boss fights are not excellent... but the visuals, horror design, and gameplay are top for me. It is even better on Pro & with the DLCs. Don't overlook the game. I'm sad the studio is forced to cultivate it's "agility" so soon again :/

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for March 2025 Announced

zhoont

This is a really good month! I am actually really happy I get to play Dragon Age this soon, I expected another 12 months at least until it was put into EA play. If I wasn't poor I would've given the game a chance on release. Jaffee and Gene said good things about it

Re: Space Marine 2 Dev Partners with Hasbro, Working on 'Tentpole IP'

zhoont

Warhammer 40k is an IP that only gets better in video games form as video games mature and graphics/performance improves. I think that's the case with Transformers, too. In the late 2000s you could never do a PS3 game which could emulate the insane movie CGI of cars transforming back and forth- but that can probably be done pretty soon. I think a new AAA transformers game could be cool.

Re: Directive 8020 Looks Like a PS5 Return to Form for Until Dawn Creator

zhoont

I'm interested, but the Dark Pictures games are ultimately disappointing & I can't imagine they will ever reach the level of Until Dawn again. Though copying The Thing is probably an easy way to have a good game. I just wish more of these actors were interesting to me. I feel like Until Dawn has an AMAZING cast.

Re: 35 PS5, PS4 Games You Should Grab in PS Store's Planet of the Discounts Sale

zhoont

I think I'd have fun doing a post like this every time a new sales comes around. I tend to comb through them, and I've played a lot so I could also do recommendations. For example, Dragon's Dogma 2 has been 40% off routinely since at least November of not earlier from what I recall, so I would point out one could wait and have it go on a higher sale later this year

Re: Black Ops 6, Warzone Ranked Play Will Be Less Sweaty Soon on PS5, PS4

zhoont

On its face you would assume there's a big gap between controller and mouse users in COD. But actually all the pros play on controller and the recoil patterns for guns on mouse are wilder. I don't know that it really matters too much, but I would have thought the option would have been there already so it's welcome. I'm just excited for Season 2 next week!

Re: WWE 2K25 Teased in Debut Netflix Live Show

zhoont

I've kinda fallen in love with WWE, both the game and some of the shows and wrestlers this year through 2k24 being free on PS Plus. These screenshots are looking great, Cody looks greatly improved, and so does Liv Morgan. I've been a bit obsessed with CM Punk so I'm glad to see he's looking good again. My dream wrestler right now is Jericho but that probably won't happen. The one thing the game could use is better multiplayer support. I've had a lot of problems with their servers and I wish people would watch some of the character intros

Re: Call of Duty's Squid Game Skins Reignite Monetisation Debate

zhoont

This is a complete non-issue for me. I have played easily 20 hours since this bundle has come out and I haven't seen any of these skins used, just the black and green squid games skins. All the squid games skins fit the game in my opinion, too. I don't like the green dragon or the angel-winged suited armor guy. Hell even cartel Santa is more annoying than these. They haven't paywalled anything but cosmetics and probably half the people in my matches have bought a $20+ bundle , so they're taking in tons of money

Re: Rumour: The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Is Getting an Unreal Engine 5 Remake in 2025

zhoont

This is just a rumor, the first strong indicator was the NVidia leak which notoriously revealed many games before they were announced. The real confirmation was the Xbox court document from before Covid showing an Oblivion release in 2022 I think. This is one of my all-time favorite games but if they actually remake it I think it will lose all its charm. I think the best way to treat it would just be trying to get a high-res, good performance port with trophy support and maybe the mod manager.. You've got to keep the original voice lines and preferably all the assets and face models too

Re: Sony's Rounding Out 2024 with the Biggest Roster of PS5, PS4 Deals of the Year

zhoont

The current sales have so many games discounted already. If you're like me and your PSN wishlist is full, go over to Platprices.com and you can wishlist as many games as you like. There's also going to be a small crossover time where the previous sales have a handful of hours left and the new sale has also just started, so you could surveil all the games on sale at once and find the best deals. Platprices also shows the discount history of games so you can see if it's the current lowest price yet

Re: Ubisoft FPS XDefiant Shutting Down, Not Accepting New Players

zhoont

I said this here on an article talking about how the multiplayer Division project was shuttered to put full support behind Xdefiant, and I complained about how Xdefiant wasn't going to be good, and it would just get shut down itself. I was right, and it's all about opportunity cost. The opportunity cost of Xdefiant is huge, and that's frustrating.

Re: PS5 Users Are Begging for Themes, PS1 Startup Screen to Stay

zhoont

The problem is they have been so limited in offering personalization that this is like water to a woman dying of thirst. You can't just take the water bottle back and pretend like it's fine. What I want them to keep are the sounds specifically, I haven't even really seen the startup screens because I put my console in rest mode, or when I turn it on it's faster to start than my TV is- so I don't even witness the startup.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for December 2024?

zhoont

I cannot believe 30% of the votes and a majority of the comments are saying it's a crap selection. This is a very good month. It Takes Two won Game of the Year for a reason- it ***** rocks. Sorry if you don't have anyone to play it with! Doesn't make it a bad selection. Temtem is a game I've been interested in for years because it's supposed to actually be good a good Pokemon game, it got good reviews. The Alien game is supposed to be one of the best tactical RTS games around, and it looks awesome and has a great setting. All three of these are very good!

Re: The Game Awards Confirms DLC, Remasters Can Win Game of the Year Days Prior to Nominations Reveal

zhoont

Why the hell not? DLCs and Remasters are going to have to be extraordinarily good to compete with actual Game of the Year contenders, but I'm comfortable with them being in the conversation. If Phantom Liberty had released during a really dry year I would have been fine with it winning Game of the Year, but that sort of circumstance may never happen. Even if another year like 2014 rolls around, another Dragon Age Inquisition will probably still be more deserving and end up winning above a remaster or DLC.
