This isn't a problem for me, because I detest Dave the Diver. It is simultaneously really cute and fun, and completely awful. It has the worst boss fights in any game I've ever played. It should have been about fishing and running the restaurant, yet it is consumed by poor puzzles, boss fights, and combat.

I would guess a Socom game, because those were third-person shooters and Outriders/Gears fall into that category. I know Colin will be very interested in this project since he enjoyed Outriders so much. I thought it was fine, promising even. I'm excited for this project for sure

I am getting very physically excited by the prospect of this. I grew up on Oblivion, and it is supremely special to me. Some of my most earnest memories are different times and places I played Oblivion. It was absolutely mind-blowing in 2006. This was the first time I had played a game and realized video games could take you to a different world, could be made on a whole different level than sports games like SSX or little pocket Gameboy Pokemon. Oblivion is a true outstanding achievement and mark in the sand for what video games could be. After Oblivion a game like Cyberpunk 2077 was something I began to daydream about, and before it I didn't see a path to great games. It took almost a decade before I played another game that had the same perspective shifting power, opening up of my horizons. Those games were the Last of Us PS4 and Bloodborne. I would die happy with just a 4k re-release with trophy support- anything more than that, if handled well, is a dream! I just tend to agree with Todd Howard that this game captures a time & place, and doesn't need an overhaul.

@Confused_Dude I am left confused to what exactly changed with the ladder match mini game. You mention it changed twice, but now how it changed. I also wish you had spoken a bit about if/how the actual moment-to-moment gameplay has improved or which specific likenesses are better this time around...

Control is very interesting visually and has good ideas, but I found the gameplay pretty frustrating and shallow. The Alan Wake dlc was a tragedy to play, even though it had really intriguing new enemies the combat was just ass. I had no idea Hideo had a cameo. I guess that means our world is one of many worlds

I platinumed THPS 1+2, and I can't understand the implications of this until I see it. I guess this means they have different challenges in the levels than they originally did because there will now be the 2 minute time constraint? I don't view that as a problem, but I can understand that a fan of the original would not like the change.

I'll need to see a roadmap, because if this platinum is 10 hours then I'd be interested, if it's 30 then hell no. Just depends

Best Saber getting the bag. It's the unpopular opinion I think, but the song is not that great- and that Superbowl set was horrible. Kendrick's albums have only gotten worse since Section 80 imo . Drake's disstrack Family Matters was better: "Kdot sh** only hitting when Baby Keem put his pen to it"

My friend enjoyed this game so much we played through the whole thing in one sitting on a Saturday. The multiplayer is surprisingly decent, it reminds me of old PS3 multiplayer suites when every game had multiplayer included. It felt like it could use more content and depth, so hopefully the rebalancing and reworks enhance that mode

@nessisonett there is nothing new under the sun... History repeats itself and just changes the time and place . I think you make a good point about the free speech possibilities... Maybe there will be ideas of "mind viruses" which has become a politically charged term , but in psychology ideas are known to spread and infect like a virus. Men like Higgs spreading falsehoods or fear mongering. Or it could be more "out-there" and lean into the strange concepts of people's Beaches, BTs, and how connecting people is increasing entropy in the world. I bet there will be an even heavier lean into children and/or BBs. Maybe some fertility and birthrate subject matter, too? Really looking forward to more Hideo

@PegasusActual93 yeah . A financial failure. Doesn't make it a failure of an art piece . That's why I put quotation marks- it's a failure or success depending on how you are analyzing the game

It's just so sad to me still that The Callisto Protocol "failed". I love the game, it's absolutely awesome and I really enjoy the combat and main character. For me it does lack enemy variety compared to Dead Space on paper, and the boss fights are not excellent... but the visuals, horror design, and gameplay are top for me. It is even better on Pro & with the DLCs. Don't overlook the game. I'm sad the studio is forced to cultivate it's "agility" so soon again :/

This is a really good month! I am actually really happy I get to play Dragon Age this soon, I expected another 12 months at least until it was put into EA play. If I wasn't poor I would've given the game a chance on release. Jaffee and Gene said good things about it

Warhammer 40k is an IP that only gets better in video games form as video games mature and graphics/performance improves. I think that's the case with Transformers, too. In the late 2000s you could never do a PS3 game which could emulate the insane movie CGI of cars transforming back and forth- but that can probably be done pretty soon. I think a new AAA transformers game could be cool.

@breakneck they've been leaning really hard into the "universes beyond" sets from other IP since post Covid . Sets like Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40k did really well

I'm interested, but the Dark Pictures games are ultimately disappointing & I can't imagine they will ever reach the level of Until Dawn again. Though copying The Thing is probably an easy way to have a good game. I just wish more of these actors were interesting to me. I feel like Until Dawn has an AMAZING cast.

I think I'd have fun doing a post like this every time a new sales comes around. I tend to comb through them, and I've played a lot so I could also do recommendations. For example, Dragon's Dogma 2 has been 40% off routinely since at least November of not earlier from what I recall, so I would point out one could wait and have it go on a higher sale later this year

Marvel Snap was down for a couple days in North America and they gave out the equivalent of hundreds of dollars worth of in-game currencies and cards as compensation. I would've happily taken $10 store credit at least to get Wasteland 3 complete edition.

@TimelessJubilee I think the most popular mod on PC makes him available to choose alongside the others- exactly what you're hoping for. I'm now wondering if/when there will be mod support on PS5...

On its face you would assume there's a big gap between controller and mouse users in COD. But actually all the pros play on controller and the recoil patterns for guns on mouse are wilder. I don't know that it really matters too much, but I would have thought the option would have been there already so it's welcome. I'm just excited for Season 2 next week!
