Hayden Panettiere, best known for shows like Heroes and Nashville, has tragically passed away aged just 36-years-old.

The US actress will be remembered among PlayStation fans for her role in PS4 horror game Until Dawn, alongside other high-profile stars like Rami Malek.

She also played Kingdom Hearts’ Kairi in the English localisation of the first two PS2 games.

Skip Panettiere, Hayden’s father, confirmed the news in a statement to US media, as published by the BBC:

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”

Until Dawn launched on the PS4 in 2015, before being re-released on the PS5 in 2024.

While Panettiere didn’t star in it, the game’s success led to a movie adaptation in 2025, and a sequel with a new cast of characters is due out in 2027.
