Re: Naughty Dog's Next Game Will Reportedly Put More of a Focus on 'Player Freedom'

Anything attached to Naughty Dog has to be extraordinary or people will be let down. The bar is so incredibly high- it's been miraculously raised with every release since Uncharted 2. Every new game they release has to be better than the last, and they must be quite a burden. The only stick in the spokes so far has been cancelling Factions, but who's to say it isn't being integrated into TLOU Part 3? I hope Naughty Dog keeps delivering for everyone's sakes, but how long can they keep raising the bar?

Re: Black Ops 6 Another Call of Duty with No PS5 Platinum Trophy

zhoont

Somewhere someone made a lot of money and wasted a lot of time with the suggestion that Call of Duty needed a nexus point that launched into a number of Call of Duty skews. I don't want to have "Call of Duty" on my home screen and trophy list, I want Black Ops 6! And I certainly don't want Modern Warfare 2 (2)!

Re: Poll: Are You Using the PS5's New Welcome Hub?

zhoont

I really like that I can put my captures there and go through 10 random ones every so often, picking one to be the new background of the hub. It's reminding me of so many games and fun moments in them. I think I've got like 7000+ screenshots

Re: PS5 Pro Boost Is Pretty Clear Cut in The Last of Us 2 Remastered Comparison Video

I'm very excited. I've already clocked 200 hours on the PS5 version that came out this year and I'd love to be able to play No Return in fidelity mode with high frame rate. Behind parts of Alan Wake, this is still the most gorgeous visual design I've seen in a game. The fidelity it has is only eclipsed by Horizon Forbidden West, which just has absurd 4k detail.

If you're reading this do not sleep on Chernobylite. It's a B level production, but really pulls out an A level performance for me. It has true to life scanned environments from Chernobyl and plays like a combination of Fallout 4 with the base building & Metro with the game play. Put the Russian language on and give it a chance

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

zhoont

This is a luxury item for hardcore players that can afford it, and I fully expect it to sell extremely well even at $700. The PS6 will probably be $600 and people will balk, but it will be on par with PS5's price adjusted for inflation, I expect. For me to pull the trigger on this purchase I need more information about PS4 backwards enhancements and information on how NEW PS5 games will be enhanced with the Pro. If Death Stranding 2 is 4k 60fps with full Ray Tracing I won't be able to resist...

Re: Random: Divisive Dark Souls 2 Is Seeing a Resurgence and Some Revisionist History

I have almost 500 hours on it for the PS4, did 100% the trophy list. The game was fantastic. It pushed you to be very methodical and it really hooked me on soulslikes. It was my gateway drug to bloodborne that same year. The PVP was really fun. No other game they've done has cooler lightning effects, too. I just think the game has probably aged poorly just because all the newer entries play much more smooth and have less jank. I think a Demon's Souls esque remake of DS2 would go super hard, though.

Re: Post-Apocalyptic Action RPG Chernobylite 2 Goes Open World in 2025

zhoont

The gameplay and vibes from Chernobylite 1 are sweet. It's a pretty unique game. Felt like a blend of different mechanics from Metal Gear, Fallout 4, and Stalker. I think the weakest part is the storyline, but the story also did introduce you to cool environments. Returning to their constructed exclusion zone with more freedom will work well, I think. I'm excited!

Re: The First Olympic Esports Games to Be Held in Saudi Arabia in 2025

@PuppetMaster "look within" is a lovely deflection from criticism of a government that murders it's own own citizens for what they say or who they love. I'm lucky my own country's government protects my freedom of speech and expression. Its actually rare to find those protections outside the west, and I know from experience!

Re: The First Olympic Esports Games to Be Held in Saudi Arabia in 2025

@wiiware freedom of speech and freedom of expression should be protected by government, and the Saudi government kills people for those things. Western values include human rights, so if you want to tell me that part of a culture includes fragrant disregard for the rights of man, then that culture ought to change and certainly does not warrant respect. Saudi government is a bunch of thugs and I'm glad I can speak that without being thrown in prison
