@ThatOtherNewGuy you're condoning review bombing a game because of its physical media release- something which would hurt the devs and studio capriciously for something out of the control of almost every person their that poured their life into this product, and you would damage that because "muh disc" . If I need a hug, you need a splash of water in the face to wake you up from that ridiculous call to action
I literally have no clue what would make people happy. Balatro is a GOTY card game, ARK is gonna be very popular even if it's not for me, and Bolt gun is an awesome meeting of boomer shooter and 40k setting. What do you people want???
@Shokwave2 dawg once the 1,000,000 DLCs come out I will have moved on to GTA6 and Battlefield 6 and all the other unplanned games that will capture my attention. My interests in this game extend to what I can experience in it between its release and the release of Ghost of Yotei
I enjoyed 1 2 & 3, but that looked mid af. If there's really only 4 characters to choose from and no returning character who can get a mech, that's a huge loss. The chick with the mech from B3 is really fun to pilot. Hopefully 4 is actually planning on being more grounded story-wise. But essentially all the movement additions were the big focus here, but they're just bringing it up to the same movement mechanics that Titanfall 2 & Doom 2016 had. Double jump, Dodge, slide, hover. I need more. I bet they did pull the release date forward because of GTA6...
This will probably irk some people, but the age of the remaster was foretold long ago- and I'm revelling in it! I have had so much fun with Oblivion, Fallout 4, RE4, Last of Us Pts 1+2, and many other games getting PS5 re-releases or welcome performance patches. I loved Days Gone, but it's been more than 5 years since I've played it so I'd like to see how it stands up against all the other amazing games I've had the privilege of experiencing since then.
This is one of the top top games available on PS5- I was so happy with purchasing it day 1 and Saros has me hyped! I'll jump in and test the fidelity later, but I've already got every trophy so I don't know if I'll stick around. I kinda wish the House marque news was Dead Nation for PS5, but I'll take this
7/10?! I am incensed. This excellent remake of a 10/10 absolute classic deserves more. 40 hours in and it's everything I could have wanted and more, besides removing the original Argonian voice acting and changing the Hack & Slash merchant's voice, too.
Baldur's Gate 3 does it and everyone is happy, Marvel Rivals does it and everyone loses their minds? Or maybe people don't seem to mind? Idk- seems great to me in any case
Ghost should be charging $90 and GTA6 could charge over $100 and I wouldn't be against it. I will pay for the best pieces of art in the history of humanity without whining like a little loser. These twitter posters trying to dunk on Mario Kart and rolling their eyes saying it should be in line with ghost at $70, when in reality ghost could justify leap-frogging switch 2 games to $90+
This is going to be a really important time for the history of this game, because not it gets a proper review period not plagued by bugs . The first game's review copy was given out too early and it hurt the game because the day-one patch fixed a ton of issues reviewers had
My first impression is disappointed. Look at the vibrant greens and blues of OG Oblivion, then look at the drab browns in the UE5 screenshot. Not flattering...
I want the game, but man this is a bad time for it. And if it's really releasing the last week of April, it MUST be revealed this week. I cannot imagine them not giving it at least a week to build up hype (unless they know it's a bad product).
Wait why does the game's font look exactly like Darkest Dungeon 1+2s'? I think there's a hole to be filled with a Darkest Dungeon 1 style game, because I really felt letdown by DD2 deviating so far from DD1.
I have them- and they're nice. I like most of them, but a couple don't really have good fidelity to match my 4k screen. My favorite is probably both Ghosts games & Rift Apart (even though I haven't played it yet).
Battlefield 1 getting an influx of players might be fun. Not sure how the servers are right now, but it's a great game. I hope they're giving out all the DLC with this package, too.
I actually lost a couple No Return unlockable skins I had to pay for again, thankfully only like 50 points of skins- could've been many hundreds. I also lost all the upgrades I'd gotten after returning to a suspended No Returns run. Not a big deal since it affected just the one rogue like run. I'd hate to lose upgrades in a grounded campaign save like many did.
@Stragen8 agree. It's in the sweet spot between Morrowind and Skyrim along the curve of less RPG elements per Elder Scrolls release. My favorite game as a kid, still one of my top all time
I would be angry if this happened to me mid-playthrough. And it might make the platinum go from 2-4 playthroughs depending on where someone is in the process. I'm not sure if I wanna risk launching the game right now to play the new No Return content if doing so could mess up my saves... Or maybe my saves would only get messed up if I play campaign? And is this happening to 100% of players or just a minority?
It's may become direct competition if 1) that new FromSoft game is a must-play or 2) if PlayStation launches a handheld Switch/Steam deck competitor. Right now Sony's just happy someone else increased game prices first.
It's time to pick a lane. Either video games *are" the most amazing art and entertainment medium that exists, and they're completely fantastic and worth paying for, or they're not. Put your money where your mouth is. Games are cheaper than they've ever been relative to quality and including how they go on sale over time, and for a few dollars more Ghost, GTA, DS2, etc. are all gonna be totally worth the money. There's no goddamn way you people are this frugal in all aspects of your life...
"There have been no behind-the-scenes leaks beyond somewhat vague job listings" Wrong, Rob! It was part of the NVIDIA leak, I think. But I know it was in the court documents later on from the Activision acquisition scrutiny. It was planned for 2022 in that document I believe, but then COVID happened. Still, 2025 doesn't sound wrong to me. But bottom line, we know the project existed before- does it exist still? Good question
You know what PS3 titles I want access to? Mod Nation Racers remastered. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Oblivion. Fallout 3. Fallout New Vegas. Orange Box anyone? Portal 2? ***** it: give me a complete Rock Band collection and new kits. Black Ops 1 re-release would slap, too.
@Wilshiire talk about weight on the guns- that shotgun looked, sounded, and felt like you just fired a medieval giant 20 ton cannon you're carrying around. And then you cock it like a badass
Probably spinning the planned dlc into the tapestry of the sequel. Heads down, focus up. A sequel is where the real money and zeitgeist lies. A DLC as mediocre as I know this games' would be is snooze-provoking.
I want TLOU3 so badly, but its release will be disappointing as hell if it doesn't release with/after Factions 2. My god Neil give us factions, please. I've been waiting since ya'll promised in 2019...
Witcher 4 has a real problem- how do you follow up a classic, what's the outcome? Incredible pressure there. I'm thinking the last games with that much pressure were TLOU2, Starfield, and maybe?? Halo Infinite.
My thoughts? It's in my top 10 forever. Got me into Dark Souls 2, then 3, then Nioh, then Mortal Shell, Demon's Souls remake, Sekiro, Elden Ring, etc. etc. I've platinumed all the from soft soulslikes except Dark Souls 1 and they're all great, but Bloodborne is peak- the setting, the gameplay, the sound and music all excellent. I'm happy with a remaster
This isn't a problem for me, because I detest Dave the Diver. It is simultaneously really cute and fun, and completely awful. It has the worst boss fights in any game I've ever played. It should have been about fishing and running the restaurant, yet it is consumed by poor puzzles, boss fights, and combat.
Soooo... Does this mean they know the game will be poorly received? And is that because they know it's a "poor" product, or because they know everyone loves to viscerally hate Ubisoft?
@Ultimapunch they murdered it with Life is Strange 2. True colors was a resurrection, and I want to play Double Exposure but it's just damn expensive and I know I can wait for sales
@Boxmonkey your last sentence is completely wrong. Just look at PlayStation store sales prices for any first-party Game on PS3,4 or 5. They all go down way below half-off
I would guess a Socom game, because those were third-person shooters and Outriders/Gears fall into that category. I know Colin will be very interested in this project since he enjoyed Outriders so much. I thought it was fine, promising even. I'm excited for this project for sure
I am getting very physically excited by the prospect of this. I grew up on Oblivion, and it is supremely special to me. Some of my most earnest memories are different times and places I played Oblivion. It was absolutely mind-blowing in 2006. This was the first time I had played a game and realized video games could take you to a different world, could be made on a whole different level than sports games like SSX or little pocket Gameboy Pokemon. Oblivion is a true outstanding achievement and mark in the sand for what video games could be. After Oblivion a game like Cyberpunk 2077 was something I began to daydream about, and before it I didn't see a path to great games. It took almost a decade before I played another game that had the same perspective shifting power, opening up of my horizons. Those games were the Last of Us PS4 and Bloodborne. I would die happy with just a 4k re-release with trophy support- anything more than that, if handled well, is a dream! I just tend to agree with Todd Howard that this game captures a time & place, and doesn't need an overhaul.
@Confused_Dude I am left confused to what exactly changed with the ladder match mini game. You mention it changed twice, but now how it changed. I also wish you had spoken a bit about if/how the actual moment-to-moment gameplay has improved or which specific likenesses are better this time around...
Control is very interesting visually and has good ideas, but I found the gameplay pretty frustrating and shallow. The Alan Wake dlc was a tragedy to play, even though it had really intriguing new enemies the combat was just ass. I had no idea Hideo had a cameo. I guess that means our world is one of many worlds
