Re: PS5 Firmware Update 20.02-02.50.00 Available to Download Now

stormyuk

@DrClayman agreed, I have a Crucial X8 External SSD which hates rest mode. Also I thought Sony kept telling everyone CE-108255-1 crashes are software and an update is coming..... Seems this isn't the update we are looking for.

@Ward_ting I hope so too, that random spinning up every so often even when the game you are playing is digital is annoying. If that's fixed. 👍

Re: How Is Control: Ultimate Edition Improved on PS5?

stormyuk

I think the website is incorrect according to the Remedy Communications Director Thomas Puha. Both modes are 1440p upscaled to 4K on PS5.

https://twitter.com/RiotRMD/status/1354700639276818432?s=19

'Performance Mode targets 60fps perf with 1440p render resolution and 4K output. Graphics Mode targets 30fps perf with ray tracing at 1440p render resolution and 4K output.

NOT 1220p as unfortunately has been erroneously listed. The amount of times I checked this ...sigh. Sorry.'

Re: Hitman 3 PS5 Marginally Outperformed by Xbox Series X

stormyuk

Not sure I agree it's marginal. The jump from 1800p to 2160p is significant as others have said. I didn't expect the XSX to outperform the PS5 so much.

A tad disappointed. I am hoping it's just IOI and this isn't the shape of things to come from most developers.

On face value the higher resolution on better shadows is more bang for buck than the paper specs comparison would suggest.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Cyberpunk 2077 Out of the Top 10 in Quiet Week for Games Retail

stormyuk

@Col_McCafferty yeh in a way I regret buying it (Demon's Souls), it's a beautiful game but it's just not fun for me. I've only done the first boss. The next section just frustrated me even though trying to take the easy Royalty route and getting some key items from harder levels.

Maybe when I run out of other things to play.

I regret buying it at full price. I kinda thought I might. Think these games are not for me. Enjoyed Spiderman Remastered much more. Casual gamer is me.

I even enjoyed Cyberpunk more. Platinum'd at the weekend.

Guess Soul's games really are not for me. Kinda glad I've never started Bloodborne as I fear it would have gone the same way.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.06 Out Now on PS5, PS4, Promises Less Crashes on Consoles

stormyuk

@SamuraiBirdman95 think it's just random luck and what you are doing. I've had 2 crashes since the new patch both during driving but, before that had it elsewhere. No idea. Some people say they get zero crashes and any CE-108255-1 error means some hardware issue. Honestly no idea right now.

I need to do another check on how many crashes versus hours played again on my other games.

Edit: I thought Spider-Man Remastered had crashed more than it had. 3 CE-108255-1 crashes in 33 hours. Cyberpunk. 19 CE-108255-1 crashes in 71 hours.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Consistent Crashing Issue Still Not Fixed on PS5, PS4 After Patch 1.05

stormyuk

Are we all getting different error codes?

@zekepliskin says they get CE-34878-0 yet I've never seen this error yet my crash scenario is very similar. I always get CE-108255-1. So is more going on here?

Edit: ahh get it Zeke is on PS4 Pro.

So new question are all PS5 Cyberpunk crashes CE-108255-1?

As an aside @get2sammyb @ShogunRok could you guys consider doing a poll on how widespread CE-108255-1 is with PS5 on Cyberpunk or other games? I am curious as some people still say Cyberpunk has never crashed for them.

I had a couple of crash free days avoiding driving and fast transition and then crashed twice yesterday. Once at the end of a race (at the finish line). Played again and was fine. Then once at a dialogue point in a 'search for someone' side quest. Again fine the second play through.

That's 17 crashes in 60 hours for me now.

Yet a game like Astro's Playroom where people have reported crashes I have 100% finished it, platinum'd with all add on trophies completed. Not a single crash.

Spider-man Remastered has crashed 3 times in 14 hours. Always CE-108255-1.

Sony replacing some PS5 consoles, promising fix for others. Hmmm

Re: Soapbox: I'm Really Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077

stormyuk

@kiki3400 Yes, lots on the map, ultra repetitive and just a grind to get eurodollars.

@get2sammyb Yeh, this is the big disappointment. It's not even over hype levels, an example they showed things like a working monorail system. Gone. Now it's just fast travel points. The city is beautiful under the glitches and I am sure it will look great on PS5 eventually. Unfortunately NC will still be just a facade though and bland as hell underneath it.

Re: Soapbox: I'm Really Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077

stormyuk

I actually agree with most of the points my biggest problem on PS5 apart from the crashes and some of the ugly graphical issues (terrible blurry textures on certain elements, ugly fuzzy streetlights and just lack of polish) which spoil the immersion is that while the open world is so we'll done artistically it's just blandly populated by NPC zombies and just hardly worth exploring. It looks great on the surface but, has no depth. The story and main NPC characters are however great.

50 hours so far, 15 CE-108255-1 crashes.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Crashing Still a Major Problem on PS5, PS4 After Patch 1.04

stormyuk

Interestingly Gamesradar seems to suggest CE-108255-1 is a hardware fault?

https://www.gamesradar.com/uk/ps5-error-codes/

I get it pretty often in Cyberpunk, should I be concerned this is breaking my console? I think I have seen this error a few times before on other games but not at anything like the frequency of Cyberpunk.

Edit: Just checked the console had this 3 times on Spider-Man Remastered in 13 hours playtime and 14 times in 44 hours on Cyberpunk so less than I thought but, I still don't like it.

@ShogunRok the other thing which worries me is some people say it's crash free for them?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Aiming to Be a 'Playable, Stable Game without Glitches and Crashes'

stormyuk

@Cheski the thing is it doesn't even look great on PS5. This argument about focusing on next gen? Do they mean Series X and PC? Because the PS5 is just the PS4 Pro version at Upto 60 FPS.... Their comments are flabbergasting.

The amount of immersion breaking awful graphical elements just break any immersion. Dodgy lighting, low resolution textures, terrible pop in and that's before constant glitches and crashes.

Re: CD Projekt Red Apologises for Hiding Cyberpunk 2077 on Base PS4, Makes Refunds Widely Available

stormyuk

The more I play and the further I get in the game the more it crashes on PS5. I've lost count how many times it's crashed now. The game is good, the characters are great but, the bugs and graphics are not. Don't want to refund it, hopefully it will improve.

I get an odd issue on dead bodies, which looks like GPU artifacts to where black lines/shapes flicker. Only seems to be on Tygers. Hopefully this game isn't breaking my PS5 slowly. Never seen it elsewhere or in other games. Just some Tyger Claws bodies.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Hovers Around 720p on PS4, Drops As Low As 15FPS

stormyuk

I am not even happy how it looks on my PS5 in backwards compatibility. After playing PS5 games, and even BC games such as RDR2. This looks shocking. I'll shelve it till they bother with the next gen patch. Wasted purchase at this point. Either that or it should have been PC only and not a cash cow for CDPR.

Re: Poll: Have You Experienced PS5 Coil Whine?

stormyuk

Got mine today, coil whine but, not as bad as I was expecting. Only hear it if I get within a meter or so of the console. The fan is silent and the disk drive is not as bad as thought. My first DS controller seems to have great battery life too. Not tried the second one.

Re: Poll: Have You Experienced PS5 Coil Whine?

stormyuk

It's interesting I was playing Elite Dangerous on my PS4 Pro the other day and my PS4 Pro turns out to have coil whine too. It's just most of the time I can't hear it over the fan. Still waiting for my PS5 but fully expect it to have coil whine. On the PS4 Pro with instances such as Elite where it's audible its not actually audible from the seating position you have to get within a meter or so of the console. Have Sony actually commented on it yet?
