Activision has a sweet deal lined up for those still sitting on the fence debating whether to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War or not. Starting this Thursday and running through until 21st January 2021, both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 owners can download a free trial of the Zombies mode, giving you access to everything the full game has to offer as far as the undead are concerned. This includes the new Die Maschine map as well as the Cranked and Onslaught modes, the latter of which is exclusive to PlayStation platforms.
And if you like what you see once the trial period is over, all of your progress will carry over into the full game should you decide to purchase it. This follows up on the recent multiplayer offering that saw those who don't own the latest entry in the flagship FPS franchise sample some online bouts over Christmas. Do you plan on checking out what the undead horde of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has to offer? Survive a couple of rounds in the comments below.

been getting all these free cods that if they would be physical games, they would be under layers and layers of dust. You are never making me comeback to cod like this activision.
People already buy their games no matter what, why not change it drastically?
@LiterallyDoNotCare I think you already answered your question: people enjoy it already.
@get2sammyb more people could enjoy is what I mean. Instead of 20m, 50m.
Haven't played Zombies since Black Ops 3, but I'm curious to see where they've taken things since I jumped ship. I doubt it will make me purchase Cold War, but it will at least be interesting to reminisce about the old Black Ops 1 days.
Will this be a free demo or do I need to download modern warfare on PS5 to download the demo?
@Waffles12415 This has nothing to do with Modern Warfare. You would be downloading an executable related to Black Ops Cold War.
@LiamCroft last month when they had the "free multiplayer week", on the first day (or a couple days even) the only way to dowload the free version was through the in-game store, which meant you either needed MW installed or to download Warzone first (and complete the tutorial). They fixed it later.
Also apparently for a short while you could upgrade the free PS4 version to a full PS5 version for $10
I guess they'll probably get it right this time though
anyone know why I can't see the PS5 version of the zombies free access?? it's only showing the ps4 version...
@wittypixel yeah I downloaded it & can only play the PS4 version. Can’t see anything related to PS5. Wanted to try out the haptics but will give it a miss if this is the case
@pukana exactly, anyone know why???
Looks like it's PS4 version only. Even on the PS5 it asks you to purchase if you want PS5 version.
It's quite fun though.
