Re: Elden Ring's FromSoftware Wants to Release New and Exciting Games More Frequently

Approximately one major game release per year since Demon's Souls, plus (major) DLC and some minor stuff. Seems pretty prolific already. Maintaining a similar schedule with today's increased production time seems like it would be enough to keep them busy. And tbh, I don't think the quote promises much more.

I hope this is not investors/leadership getting greedy and pushing for short-term profits.

@Dr-M Well, it IS really long, but I am not a hardcore fan either. The production team was embedded and clearly becomes close with DoubleFine, but still a separate unit. There are some tough, heartfelt and awkward moments in there, but I would recomend it for the insights into the development process (and it goes /deep/!) over the drama. Watching the first few episodes will give you a good impression I think.

Taking the release date serious is a good first step. And producing something this good for an announcement exudes confidence. It seems absolutely resonable that they need more time (for optimisation, judging from this?) to achieve the fidelty of the trailers. I remain hopeful and on board.

Re: The Witcher Will Return for a Fourth Season on Netflix, without Henry Cavill

I can imagine DCCU suddenly becoming infinitely more interesting to Cavill since James Gunn was brought on as Creative Head. Cavill is great and should do what ever he wants. He is, as the saying goes, not your b*tch.
Hell, I'll even give this fourth season a try before making any judgement on Hemsworth (but frankly, the first two seasons were mainly elevated from passable to good fun because of Cavill).

As one who has been lured into the From-fold by the accessibility of ER (by which I mean easy access to helpful Spirit Ashes, opportunity to always go somewhere less challenging, over-levelling, and plentiful fastravel) I can't help but wonder if some of their previous games could have performed even better, and if we will see further design choices that moves away from 'git gud' (I think ER proves that you can definitely still have a challenging game while offering players more approaches).
