Re: PS Vita Passes 5 Million Units Milestone in Japan

jbrewer99

@Grawlog I couldn't agree more. I love my vita especially for ps1 and psp games. If course there are always Japanese via games coming slowly but surely to keep me happy. I probably spend more time on my visa than any other system. Hopefully they make a successor when the time comes. There's so much potential in the vita.

Re: Poll: Would You Like to See Final Fantasy IX Come to PS4?

jbrewer99

Honestly I'd rather see it on vita, but PS4 would work. The android remaster looks very good on my note 5. Of course its not compatible with my shield portable or tablet..stupid square enix. With issues like that, I have little faith they can deliver ports to the correct devices now. lol.

Re: Traditional Japanese RPG I Am Setsuna Is Heading West on PS4

jbrewer99

That terribly disappointing. I just assumed since it was on vita in Japan that we'd get that version when it got localized. I feel better after tweeting to square Enix usa but I'll probably get it on ps4 just to experience it. Don't get me wrong, I love my ps4, I just have very little time to sit and play games on the tv anymore. It's much easier to find time anywhere on my handhelds. I'm afraid I'm never get to finish the story on ps4.

Re: Hooray, Star Ocean 5's English Voices Don't Sound Too Bad

jbrewer99

While this was obviously dubbed, the English voice actors sound very good to me. At least better than the last game. If there's a dual option that will be nice as well. There should be since it's on bluray and there is likely enough space. I have the previous game on Xbox 360 which only had the atrocious English voiceovers, but I understood the reason since it was only on dvd.

Re: Sony Switches Off PlayStation TV Shipments in Japan

jbrewer99

@Grawlog I agree, it would have been so much cheaper to just add a micro hdmi port to the vita than to ever try another small, less capable console like the ps tv. I like mine and I'm now glad I have two in the house, but they have little purpose really.

Re: Check Your Emails, Tomorrow Children

jbrewer99

Very concerning that the beta times are very small and only when people are asleep, at work, and then finally three whole hours saturday night. Thanks, hopefully all 10,000 of us can get connected for the whole three hours its available saturday night.

Re: A Very Happy Fourth Birthday to Our Fave Handheld, PS Vita

jbrewer99

At this point I have two Vitas, a PlayStation tv, and two psps (3001 and Psp go). While I have a couple gameboy advanced (original and sp ags-101), ds lite, and new 3ds xl, the Sony consoles are by far my favorites to play on. Over this last year, I've been playing on them more than my other handhelds or my home consoles. Between vita games, psp games, and PlayStation games, I've really found my RPG heaven from Sony. I think I'll be happy playing with my psps and vitas for the next couple of years, but I also would love to see a new handheld from Sony. Just because the vita didn't do as well as the psp shouldn't be any reason for Sony to think they shouldn't make another handheld. There's obvious reasons for the low sales of the vita. Proprietary memory card prices, original price, lack of AAA games in recent years, are the large issues, but Nintendo has shown that even in a time of super powered phones and tablets, there is still a good sized market for a dedicated handheld console. I love the vita, but I'd still love to see a successor in the next year or two.

Re: XSEED: We Love the Vita and Will Continue to Support It

jbrewer99

Great news as I'm one of the weirdos that actually plays on my vita more than my ps4 or PS3. I've just been really enjoying all the content I can play while laying in bed or at a break at work. I truly love the vita. I wish Sony would at least find a way to support it more somehow. Thankfully we do have some publishers who still release high quality games for it and it's region free so I happily pre ordered the new Darius burst the other day as well.

Re: October's PlayStation Plus Lineup Is Going to P*** People Off

jbrewer99

Yeah this ones pretty craptastic. Of course we have to realize it's going to happen every once in a while. We still do get plenty of very good games for our $50 or so bucks each year though. They can't all be amazing. Let's give them some slack and remember that somewhere, likely in a third world country, someone is probably super excited for this collection of crap. Hopefully, next month is better for the rest of us.

Re: Opinion: Sony's Not Solely to Blame for PS Vita's Demise

jbrewer99

Sure the markets changed, but Sony didn't help themselves much with the vita. The memory card choice and subsequent prices were ridiculous, while they had some good first and second party games initially those have all but disappeared now. They never really tried to give us a second screen ability for PS3, you can't download games on your ps4 (which they claim the vita is perfect with) and then copy to your vita, they have poor ps1 support on the vita, and it currently isn't hardly marketed and when it is, it's only for playing ps4 games. I love my vita, hardware wise, more than my Psp, but it leaves a lot to be desired for actual vita games currently. While I have a decent collection, most are third party and a vast majority of those are from ps plus. They already refreshed the system, which I actually like for the lighter we it and better battery life. The problem with the refresh was that it was a perfect time to address the glaring memory card issued switch to micro sd or anything mainstream, but they didn't. Don't tell me about fragmenting your users either. I'm sure people who had an original card would be fine with buying a 64gb micro sd for $30-$40 or even a 128 for about the price of the current Japanese only 64 vita card. They could and should offer a larger card for the few fans they have like me who have almost filled up their 64, and since this is the only device that uses these cards, cut the price by at least about half. The hardware is solid and very capable. Try playing the ratchet and clank games, tear away, or killzone and not be impressed by the devices capabilities. There's still time for Sony to try to get some traction here but they continue to ignore the device and the few fans they have. I'm not asking them to spent a tons of money making amazing games at this point for so few to buy, but start making more ps1 and Psp games available on the store for the vita. They have a massive catalog of games and the device is perfectly backwards compatible, yet a majority aren't even available for us to buy here in the us. That's an easy cheap way for them to make some money while also pulling in new hardware sales. I'm sure plenty of people would buy the vita for such a massive collection of class games.

Re: Gal Gun: Double Peace Goes Practically Nude for Over $80

jbrewer99

If you don't like it don't buy it. It's not complicated. While it's not my kind of game, I'm all for giving the developer the freedom to offer what they want and let the consumer choose with their wallet. And if you're going to bring up little Johnny, well that's his parent's responsibility, not mine, yours, or anyone else's.

Re: Japan's Censored Until Dawn's Most Grisly Scenes in the Worst Way

jbrewer99

Yeah its really odd what some countries censor and what they don't. To each their own but I for one I'm glad I'm not forced to only play japanese or German titles. Also at least with the ps4 and Xbox one a person can always import a title since there is no region lock, barring language barriers of course, ☺

Re: Destiny's The Taken King Patch Is Around 20GB, and It's Mandatory

jbrewer99

This is getting to be as out of hand as world of war craft used to be. I remember upgrading my MacBook and seeing that wow was taking up something like 70 or 8gb of space on my old machine. Needless to say I deleted it since I hadn't played in a while an wasn't going back, but the point here is that game patches are getting to the point that they are larger in many case than the original game was.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4?

jbrewer99

Since I have both consoles I'll go ahead and get it on Xbox one instead of waiting a year later. I totally feel the frustration others have with this exclusivity though as I played the previous one on ps4 and would choose that console if available on both. Oh well I'd rather okay it sooner than wait so that's what I'll do.

Re: Lucky Hit! Shenmue III Is Now the Most Funded Game in Kickstarter History

jbrewer99

@renkawa well said renkawa thank you. As I posted earlier, no one was going to fully fund this, that's obvious as it's been so long and didn't happen. To assume Sony could also she'll out millions of dollars on a project that has a very niche fan base is also naive. Kickstarter is the only way we were going to get this and it's hurting the project for the general public to see comments like some of these with negativity and confusion about sony's involvement.

Re: Lucky Hit! Shenmue III Is Now the Most Funded Game in Kickstarter History

jbrewer99

@Boerewors of course he needs to do a kickstarter. We've waited 14 years and if a company thought it was a financially positive move, sega, Sony, or someone would have bankrolled this in those 14 years. Comments like this are what hurts this kickstarter. If you don't want to pledge then by all means don't pledge, but please don't misinform others as you're only hurting everyone's chance to get the next chapter that we've waited so long for.

With the success this seems to be having for chapter three, we may very well get a conslusion to this epic tale down the road. Sega didn't offer licensing for shenmue one or two so asking for Yu to remaster those along with shenmue 3 simply isn't something he is licensed to do. I'd assume if this is successful sega themselves may give us some remasters of the first two chapters, but at the end of the day it's their decision since they own the license. This is not to pick on your in any way, simply to make sure people have the correct information and don't make a decision based on rumors and another person's opinion.

Re: A Brand New Entry in the Beloved Ys Series is Coming to PS4 and Vita in 2015

jbrewer99

So excited for this. As a fairly new Ys fan, I've been snatching up the limited and silver editions recently after buying memories of celceta digitally. In fact, I just got home and opened my silver edition copy of it so I have the CDs, physical copy of the game, and most importantly the cloth map. I can see myself buying both the vita and ps4 version of this as I've really loved playing the other games on my Psp and ps vita. I pray we get this in the west and most importantly a limited edition again. Xseed and falcom have been making outstanding special editions of these games available over the years so I really hope they do the same with this new game. I'll have no hesitation in ordering both versions in special edition if they are available. The Ys series has become my favorite game series, not just my favorite action RPG series. They also are renowned for excellent music in their games.

Re: Your Very Own Shower Dream Is Nearing in Friday the 13th: The Video Game

jbrewer99

Ughh, another 4v1 multiplayer game only. I'll pass, I've tried the evolve beta as well as several others over the years. I have no issue with people making multiplayer games but it seems many now are going multiplayer only which leaves those of us that prefer single player games out in the dust. I know there are tons of single player game so don't start flaming me, but some of the multiplayer ones look very good and just make me wish there was some sort of solo campaign to them.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 51

jbrewer99

I've been playing Golden Sun for gameboy advance on the retron 5 so far. Although I have basically every console from the last few generations including Xbox one and ps4, I've really been enjoying these older titles in my collection lately. Retron 5 makes them all look great on the tv as well, which definitely doesn't hurt.

Re: Uncharted Collection a 'Good Candidate' for PS4, but Sony Won't 'Flood the Market' with Remakes

jbrewer99

You can certainly call it double dipping and make it a negative thing, but if people werent going to buy these remakes they wouldnt be made in the first place. At the end of the day, if you dont want to buy the game again, then simply dont buy it. If you do want to see the updated visuals or feel the desire, then by all means buy the games again. For me, I have no issue doing this for games I really loved. I have bought Nintendo's windwaker hd and love it. Tomb Raider definitive edition on ps4 was beautiful. I found both of these totally worth the money I spent. Another thing is, some people sold thier last gen consoles to pay for the new ones. If they miss some of thier old favorites, then this gives them a great way to play them again on the new machines. Personally im fine with the remakes and "double dipping", as long as they arent pulling too many resources from new games to remake old ones. The great thing is we all have a choice. Dont want to double dip, then simply dont do it.
