Dead silent

Everyone's favourite masked maniac Jason Voorhees has been out of the interactive entertainment game for some time, but Friday the 13th is set to hack its way back into your hearts later this year as part of a brand new video game. EGM reports that the release is already in production for multiple platforms – you can pretty much bank on the PlayStation 4 being one of them – and is being helmed by an experienced studio. It'll apparently be an asymmetrical multiplayer escapade – presumably where one person will play as the murderous main character.

"With a new television series on the horizon, and plans announced for the thirteenth instalment of the film franchise, we felt that the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form," said director Sean S. Cunningham. "We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value, while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect." There's no other information just yet, but apparently more details will emerge from the bottom of the lake soon.
