Congratulations to everyone getting theirs today! I have to wait until the 21st for the 30th edition Pro to get here… so I’ll try to be patient until then! Definitely holding off on a couple new titles just to start them on the Pro.

I got one somehow, and I plan on playing it daily. I think there’s merit it keeping it sealed, but honestly I want to use it to its fullest.

Lunar Remastered will be a day 1 for me, been a big fan since I picked up the PS1 versions about 15 years ago. Can’t wait!

Yotei looked fantastic, maybe it’s time I finally play Ghosts of Tsushima…

My goal is the 30th Pro, but at the very least I'm hoping for a Dualsense and a Portal. That Grey is too good to pass up lol

I still buy all games physically when I am able to. Hell, it’s the reason I’ve been debating on importing Baldurs Gate 3.

Sony really should have been there at E3. 100%.

That being said, my picks from this list I’m most excited for:

Elden Ring
Legend of Mana
Diablo 2
Tales of Arise
Fatal Frame

Honestly, I liked E3. Sure, there were some duds like Square Enix, but Microsoft and Nintendo did fantastic. Regardless of whether or not E3 is as needed as it used to be, I think it is still one of the most recognizable events in the whole industry, and that makes it worth continuing.

I love Sony and my ps5, but honestly when they skip this event it just is a bad look, IMO.

Really hoping all these DQ games have native PS5 versions. Granted, something like this might not benefit as much from the “cutting edge”, but It’d be nice to see the trend going that way sooner than later.

Cannot wait for this! Also really hoping we get the remake of DQ3 over here...

This is insane. I still play my PS3 weekly, and would love to keep exploring the digital only catalog.

And you know what? Most of us pay $60 a year for PS+, can’t some of that money go towards maintaining the servers?

I love Sony products, but they seem to be making some anti-consumer choices as of late.

No thanks. $70 is too much, and I bet a lot of people will wait for a sale. This is one area where gamepass becomes an amazing value for day 1 releases.
If people want to buy it, that’s great. But I am thinking $60 is a sweet spot for some people, and even then... I got burned a few times last gen getting Street fighter 5 for full price, no man’s sky, etc.

It really makes me glad I am waiting a year or two, even tho I’d love to play astros playroom and demon souls.

I really think Mark was a bad casting choice as Sully... I think he will make the character more arrogant without the charm that makes him great.
But we will see!

Honestly I’m disappointed that there isn’t an upgrade available to those who bought the original version on PS4... it just feels wrong to pay $40 for it. And that’s coming from a huge DQ/DW fan.

This has honestly been depressing with all of the bots/resellers/crashing websites. Tried for hours last night and today, no luck. Almost ready to give up until next year... but we will see.

I sure do miss lining up in person for these launches.

Anyway, I am happy for everyone that has secured a console, play some Demon’s Souls for me!

Are there any stores mentioning more stock of systems to preorder? Or that they’ll have a supply on launch day? Longshot, I know... but I’ve been trying to find a PS5 or Xbox and haven’t had any luck. I really want to be there for launch day.

@Cybrshrk Yeah that’s true! I was never able to do that, mine had the red ring of death, RIP. Lol. But in general, not many consoles have had a faceplate that easily swappable. Ones that come to mind are the 360 (a minor front plate, not the whole case), 3DS, & GBA Micro... tho the latter two are handhelds.

So yeah, this is a game changer and a very welcomed thing from Sony. That white shell has to go.

Oh man, the faceplates are game changers! Can’t wait to see all the custom/official ones. Finally, a system where I won’t have to buy another just for a specific edition.

I love Sony, but they really seem to be ruining a lot of the hype surrounding PS5. Guess I’ll stick with a PS4 pro and try to find a series x next year. I really want to play Demon’s Souls though...

This is great, pretty cool to get these games for free on day 1. That being said, this still can’t touch gamepass honestly.
I am also truly surprised to hear that some of the big launch games are coming to ps4 as well.

Demon’s souls is the only big game I’d be getting a ps5 for. Might wait until next holiday season at this point.

Anyone see Spelunky 2 on their PlayStation store? Was going to download it before my friends came over tonight, but I don’t even see it listed...

Honestly I want both consoles to succeed greatly, better for the industry as a whole. That said, I really do believe that Xbox will sell better this coming gen, as others have stated gamepass is an insane deal, and Microsoft has learned from past mistakes.

Can’t wait to get a PS5 at some point, RPG heaven. Plus I really need Demon’s Souls in my life, haven’t played it since the PS3 years.

Like I said over on pure Xbox, this is why I only buy sports games with Mario in them lol.
Or an occasional NBA Jam.

Such an amazing series, I hope it is a launch title. If so I would day 1 the system.
Otherwise I might have to wait a bit, or at least until they announce some other games. Right now there just isn’t a lot to entice for picking the system up at launch.

Been really enjoying gamepass the past few months- super value.
Haven’t had the chance to mess with PS Now at all, but the larger catalogue seems like a good deal.

I’m glad the full experience will be on PlayStation finally I’ve been playing it on Gamepass and loving it. Gives me advance wars vibes.

As a huge dragon warrior/dragon quest fan- I’m super bummed by this. It makes far more sense to just give us an upgrade... I’d gladly pay for that.

I mean, Phil has a point about PC gaming... games are designed to work on many different systems, at little to no detriment to the game.

Don’t get me wrong; as a console gamer, I want exclusives and a real showcase of what the system can do, but honestly I think Microsoft has learned a lot this generation and is doing a good thing here. Let the developer decide, all while growing the install base for a game and studio.

Honestly better than 7 & 8 to me. The old school feel, the fantasy setting... seemed like a natural evolution of the games on the SNES. Amazing game

I like longer RPGs, but in all honesty, 15-25 hours is a sweet spot. Less time to complete games is a reality for me. As for cost, $60 for 15 hours isn’t too bad.. people spend $10-$15 to watch a 2 hour movie in a theater, so by that rationale I think gaming is a pretty fair priced hobby for its AAA titles.

Kind of a weird release. Exclusives are important for a new platform- but if it’s coming to pc, I think it should go to ps4 also. Seems kind of odd to cut out such a large & loyal install base.

I think the dual sense is kind of ugly, but maybe that’s just the color scheme. Here’s hoping it is great tho, I guess time will tell.

The games do matter most- but now I’m considering buying an Xbox as well for the superior power in multi platform games.

Been playing this for the first time on Switch, been having a blast. Highly recommended, one hell of a game.

Nintendo has to do what it can to protect it’s IP, period. No one should be surprised by this. It would have been cool to see Mario in Dreams, but I’m fine with Super Mario Odyssey. Make something fresh instead.

Good time to be a PS4 & Switch gamer. Tho I will say, XB1X is still worth having as a supplement, imo, for the BC & the better specs. No regrets.

I probably won’t get this game, but I will say that I think Gamefreak is kind of unfairly hated on recently. Been playing Pokémon since gen 1, and honestly sword/shield are a blast. Wild areas are a cool twist, and I’ve enjoyed battling with friends on a proper home console.

Just seems kind of jaded And silly to be so mad about video games, tbh. Just play what you want and have a good time.

This’ll be a day one for me, I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about this weird game. Related news, but the physical edition of Wattam is up for preorder on 12/12.

That death stranding ps4 is pretty cool. And my god we get Wattam at last!
