They're simply making sure they can still have a say in the FPS market. This makes a LOT of sense. Take the goggles off folks. PS has had exclusive Destiny content for a while now.

People really need to stop comparing ps+ to gamepass too. It's definitely more out of spite these days. Now has been decent recently. If Spartacus works out I'm sure it'll only be better.

@TheCollector316 cod isn't going anywhere anytime soon. People don't seem to realise the cash cow that it is, particularly on ps! Microsoft would have to be real bitter to just throw that profit away. Shoving it on gamepass for £10.99 a month (majority don't even pay that) won't bring in the millions it's generated for Activision over the years.

I've not played many of their games. I finished ME1 and played a good chunk of 2. Didn't get around to 3 or any of the DA games. I do hope they recover from Anthem though. They were put in a ***** position by EA to rush that game out and suffered massively from it.

I think in terms of open world, Witcher 3 nailed it down. Not only with it being single player but it lasting much longer with all the DLC too. Nobody is against DLC as a whole. If it keeps people playing the game long term then I'm all for it. Too many games skimp on story DLC these days and save it for sequels. It's not the way to do it. Hopefully BW go along these lines.

Bought it after all the hype for it got to me. I'm sure I spent a good few days going back to it but it just didn't end up hooking me in. I purchased it from the ps+ collection and will possibly go back down the line but the attitude of the dev is beyond ridiculous at this point. Your game didn't perform to standards set this generation. You've been given the green light to work on a new IP for Sony, think yourselves lucky your studio hasn't been dropped.

Loved TLOU, didn't get around to finishing TLOU2. I finished every UC bar legacy. It's time for a new IP. Let them make a star wars game or something.

@Bleachedsmiles that's not always gonna be a plus for Microsoft. At one point they'll have to take full advantage of the series X hardware and produce games that aren't held back by the previous gen. Otherwise they've sold you an upgraded Xbox one S/X.

@TheArt they spun charging for it as helping to improve security etc and there's been nothing close happened compared to the outages they had back on PS3.

It's just something I don't see happening anytime soon. They've got far too many subscribers who are willing to pay for it from a financial standpoint.

Doesn't affect me in the slightest. I'll always usually stump for special editions of Sony exclusives anyways. Have done since TLOU. Followed suit with UC4, HZD and then TLOU2.

I get the ease of buying digitally and not having to get off your ass to put a disc in but physical will always win that battle. R&C Rift Apart was literally going for £25 physical yesterday at Tesco here in the UK. That's literally more than half the price of digital. If there's a game I desperately want and it's sitting under say £20 digitally then I'll be tempted to get it but that's my limit.

There's too many folk enabling these price hikes by account sharing. I guarantee if Sony put a stop to that, digital sales would drop massively.

Let's not forget that (as mentioned in the article) Nintendo are probably worse if not just as bad as Sony and while Gamepass is a fun, fleshed out concept, it's still expensive or will be expensive in the long run. The £1 stacking deals won't last forever, then you're over £130 a year for it. Let's not also forget that they sell their first party titles digitally at roughly the same price as Sony do too.

Never played vice city back in the day and didn't particularly like San Andreas all that much (it was 'fun') but my plan will be to get the 7 day free trial of ps now and use it to play 3. 3 was my jam.

Was my 10th platinum. Put exactly 70hrs into it. Love all these comments claiming it's not ps5 quality or feels like a fortnite clone. Clearly shows how ignorant you are. Spouting nonsense in a comment section to try stand out from the crowd 😂

@Jeevz quite grindy towards the end. The 1000 assists was the one that took me a while. I was still enjoying the game throughout though so it was worth it. Winning without being knocked out was another tough one too.

I've platinumed this on PS4. If I get this free upgrade on PS5 will I automatically get the platinum for that version too?

Already platinumed Knockout City. None of the others really peak my interest at all.

Not the news I've heard. I assumed the definitive edition was the ps5 edition. 3 was always my fav though so happy to see it.

We need it on the console dash again too. Still one of the major advantages PS4 holds.

@MetalGear_Yoshi I can tell you haven't played it. The beta surprised a LOT of people. It may be a spiritual successor to Steep but it plays a lot better and there's way more to do and you certainly aren't making your own fun. Of course that's an option but as with most sports games, there's a whole career to play through first.

Kena has been on my radar since the reveal. With the price range it's safe to assume the game won't be overly long but the world looks incredible. The guys behind it are former animators for Pixar right?! It shows! Who knows, maybe we'll get some nice dlc if the game sells well. The lack of reviews doesn't concern me for an indie title.

On the other hand I only have 4 crowns right now...

@cherryghost41 we're in September already. Anything that's coming out in 2021 will have already been announced. Deathloop being the main game I'd imagine.

@Old-Red returnal was hardly a system seller... R&C was by far the better received game.

@Northern_munkey if my comment come across like that like apologies. I was simply referring to the fact that the game devs HAD PS4 in mind prior to the game being announced. I'm in no way saying the PS5 version is a port.

@TheGrizMan they're nowhere near the quality of some of the Sony exclusives. For me at least, that justifies the extra cost.

If you're in that group complaining about the game being released on PS4 alongside PS5, do your research before popping off. The game was originally and primarily developed for and on PS4. Then upgraded I'd assume in preparation for the PS5 release too.

I'd rather pay a fair price (see my last comment) for a top quality game than £130 for a bunch of games that don't come close.

I've searched bargain sites for games since the 360/PS3 era. I rarely ever pay full price for games. During the PS4 era, the only games I paid over £40 for were special editions of HZD, UC4 and TLOU2. Any decent third party titles (cod, bf, rdr2 etc) were all bought for under £40.

I just get this really lazy impression of these people complaining about the $70 price tag. Instead of shopping around they'd rather moan about it in a comment section for upvotes. It doesn't help that to get around the prices, so many folk share accounts with friends and justify Sony using that price point. They don't realise people are paying £35, they just see sales of games at $/£70.

I get the appeal of gamepass. I've used it a few times myself. Most recently to play The Ascent and Hades. But the appeal of it for most come from the £1 deals. They're getting more and more rare. So now you have to pay £10.99 a month (£131 per year) for a bunch of games that probably aren't worth a lot of your time. As opposed to this $/£70 price tag for a top quality AAA game that you KNOW will more than likely be enjoyable. For the time being at least, you're not going to get a game anywhere close to the quality of the majority of PlayStation's exclusives. That's near fact and of course down to personal taste and opinion still.

Gamepass is great but it's NOT the future of gaming.
