Critically acclaimed dodgebrawl smash hit Knockout City is coming to the PlayStation 5 next week, and you’ll be able to download it for free as part of your November 2021 PS Plus update. Of course, with the title’s arrival on Sony’s new-gen console comes some meaningful improvements: 120 frames-per-second gameplay.

To clarify, PS5 owners will have two graphics options available. Performance Mode will run at 120 frames-per-second on compatible television screens, at 1440p resolution. Alternatively, Quality Mode will run at 60 frames-per-second in native 4K. Both options will benefit from vastly improved lighting, “including new area lights, ball lights, particle lights, improved global illumination, and local light shadows”.

If you already own Knockout City, then you’ll be eligible for a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade. Furthermore, the crossplay nature of the release means you’ll be able to play against people who don’t have a new-gen console yet.

Developer Velan Studios will be celebrating the new version of the game with a Royale Rumble event, which is an eight player free-for-all where you fight to be the last dodgebrawler standing. The event will coincide with the return of some time-limited cosmetics in the Brawl Shop, and don’t forget, the primary reward in the current Brawl Pass allows you to unlock Faith from Mirror’s Edge.
