Fans Worry About the Future of Former PS5, PS4 Hit Fall Guys 1

Update []:

Fall Guys dev Mediatonic has failed to allay fears about the future of the game.

Reacting to the concerns on social media, it released a statement on X (or Twitter) outlining all things it has planned for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, these are the activities datamined from the title’s latest update which caused the panic in the first place:

“Where is the mention of new levels?” one user asked.

“None of the things you listed are new gameplay. Is this actually the end or did you choose the poorest possible four things to list?”

Original Story: Fall Guys has fallen off a lot since its enormous debut in 2020 – and now fans fear it may be stumbling towards some sort of shut down.

While there’s been worries about the release for a while due to its dwindling player count, fans are particularly concerned about its latest update, which includes files for the outing’s sixth anniversary.

Those of you with basic arithmetic skills will be able to deduce that the sixth anniversary is scheduled to take place in August next year, and there’s concern that the title’s latest patch includes just enough content to tide the experience over until then.

Indeed, various other cosmetics and rotating events are baked into the files, suggesting that dev Mediatonic is putting the release into “autopilot” for the foreseeable future.

There has been speculation for several years now that Fall Guys may get rolled into Fortnite eventually, as Epic Games bought the developer and has folded various aspects of its gameplay into the Battle Royale before.

We suppose it’s possible that the dev is working on some big update or perhaps even a sequel, and so it’s allowing Fall Guys to wind down organically while it turns its attention to different projects.

Until Mediatonic comes out and comments on the situation, though, these worries from existing Fall Guys fans seem well founded.
