PSX 2017: WipEout Omega Collection Ups the Ante with Free PSVR Patch

WipEout Omega Collection is getting a free update in Early 2018 which will incorporate PlayStation VR support. This will allow you to play through all three titles in the compilation in virtual reality. But that's not all: Sony's also adding three new bespoke PSVR vehicles with full 3D interiors.

If that wasn't enough, the platform holder's also remastering the sound to take advantage of 3D audio, and it's adding in a new remix of the song 'Shake It' that was part of a recent competition. And just to make doubly clear: if you already own the game then you'll be able to experience it with PlayStation VR for free.

A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it. He also likes tennis games way more than you.

That really is awesome. Free patch. Wow.
Sony sure are getting a lot of mileage out of WipEout. Reddit is already losing their mind over it.
Surely there has to be a future for WipEout. Seems like the collection has sold very well and is about to get a second wind.

I don't know if I could handle WipEout in VR, but I'll try anything once.

Thats a bonus. Great news. I wont have to buy any psvr games at this rate with the free ones on the igc and free updates on existing games like this.

I still need to buy Wipeout Collection, It's also amazing the support that PSVR is receiving.

That puts me one step closer to considering joining club VR. Playing a classic like Wipeout in VR, I would love to give that a go.

I so wish I could play this. I can't play even the simplest game in VR, I get ill immediately.

Ok wow. I have wipeout so delighted at the Vr support (gran turismo should learn from this example).

I still wonder whether I will be able to handle the game in vr. It could be sensory overload. But I'm more than happy to try it out

Glorious. Should be a great game for VR. Dirt Rally can get pretty pacey with the faster cars & handbrake turns so should be able to handle this easily enough

This is frikkin wow moment! Bring on the VR lovin! We're getting closer to an idea of being in a virtual stadium watching pro VR players racing in a Tron competitive environment!
