@wildcat_kickz I'm loving that you used Hitchcock as an example because I would liken TLOU on PS5 to Psycho with Vince Vaughan. An almost shot for shot copy of the original Anthony Perkins movie. Same dialogue. Same scenes. Same soundtrack.

@wildcat_kickz But, seeing as we're here, I still believe that a remaster is polishing the original content to look or sound better and a remake is creating something new with the same spirit of the original content.

Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the PS1 original. Whereas The Last of Us Part 1 is a remaster of the PS3 original.

@MrPeanutbutterz If it was digital only it would be a great entry point to the PlayStation ecosystem. At £99/$99 and having access to the PS4 library, I'd buy one for a start. So that's at least one sale. 😂

Imagine if Sony released a PS4 Super Slim with an SSD and a few internal improvements. It would sell ***** loads.

@BrownOwl I know. But it still upsets me. Especially as Valve seemed incredibly impressed by the work done on it.

I just want to play a remastered version of Half Life 1. It annoys me that it's stuck on PS2 (console wise).

Half Life 2 was an amazing achievement on the original Xbox and wouldn't have been possible on PS2.

I never understood why the original wasn't ported or at least, included in The Orange Box.

I actually liked the look of the remastered version.

PS5 marketing has been everywhere and these great numbers back up what can be done when you actually tell people about your system.

If anyone tried to make Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter or Batman games exclusive to one platform it would be an absolute travesty for the industry.

@nessisonett 100% this. I too generally tend to think that human rights violations and brutal murders are worse than anything Netflix have done.

The effort they've gone to for this game post-launch is very impressive.

@BrownOwl A hardware manufacturer buying exclusivity for an otherwise multi-platform game is anti-consumer.

@BrownOwl What about games where the exclusivity is paid for? Or games where a platform holder has bought an IP?

@BrownOwl Exclusive games are anti-consumer because it requires the consumer to buy another piece of hardware to play them.

More cross platform development/support can only be a good thing.

My uncle's, cousin's friend actually works with Geoff and I know for a fact that this is a teaser for a remake of Bart's Nightmare on the SNES.

@Americansamurai1 I get what you're saying but I think the whole "Japanese Gamers Only Want Handhelds" is a myth. Yes there's a huge handheld market in Japan. But that has always been true (since Game Boy) and doesn't tell the whole story.

Japan likes good games. The Switch and Switch 2 are blessed with so many games that cater to everyone. That's something PlayStation used to have but doesn't anymore.

I have never played my Switch in handheld mode and it's probably one of my favourite systems ever because of the games. So many PS4/PS5 Japanese style games are built with Switch as the main platform and THEN ported to PlayStation and Xbox.

@Americansamurai1 But PSP still sold massively less than Nintendo DS and (unfortunately) PS VITA sold even less. Despite the fact the Vita is one of the most impressive systems ever made. Sony should have supported that more. 😥

I've own this on Quest 3 and it's a brilliant game. It was already stunning to look at so I can't wait to see how much better it looks on PSVR2.

I genuinely don't think think that Sony want to be making PlayStation consoles after the PS6. Therefore they will need some kind of PC presence to ensure they can transition to a hardware agnostic future.

Surely every developer in the world wants as many people as possible to play their games. Creatively and financially it's a no brainer.

Apart from that guy who made Flappy Bird. But I think he had other issues going on.

Resident Evil Village and RE4 in VR are worth the price of the headset alone in my opinion. I own an absolute bucket load of games for my PSVR2 but I'm still so annoyed how Sony just dropped it like a stone.

So many first party PSVR1 games could have received upgrades/remakes and they would have sold. It would have been such an easy win.

PS5 has been, by far, my least favourite PlayStation generation. The hardware has been overpriced, the games underwhelming and Sony's support for my beloved PSVR2 has been atrocious. Plus I'm still annoyed at needing to pay for cloud saves.

But it has been incredibly successful for Sony so my complaints won't mean a thing.

Does nobody see what's happening??? Microsoft are making what will be millions from your purchases of Halo. Do you actually think that Xbox cares that you cuddle your PlayStation at night? Do you genuinely believe that selling more hardware is a win?

Because when bespoke hardware becomes obsolete (and it will), who do think has the better portfolio of games?

Where do you think people will spend their money?
