If you're into aggressive, destruction-heavy racing games like Wreckfest and FlatOut, you may want to pay attention to Trail Out.
Developed by Good Boys, the game follows in the footsteps of Bugbear Entertainment's destructive racers, and it's finally coming to PS5 after several delays.
The team confirmed the new release date on its socials; the game lands on 5th March 2026, in just a couple of days.
Trail Out initially launched on PC in 2022, and was ported to Xbox Series X|S in 2024. Featuring dozens of vehicles and tracks to race through, the game includes a story mode and lots of ways to cause mayhem with countless destructible elements.

Ridiculous that they say DLC is 5 days later, as long as it’s free. Otherwise paid DLC that soon should have been in main game.
Looks fun, but still want a split second 2 or even a remaster
I picked this up on Xbox but never really got into it. The mechanics were solid but the presentation felt dated... gave early 2010s vibes. Hopefully it's priced sensibly given they're already promoting its sequel.
Makes me want Wreckfest 2 even more 😍
@Topov81 yeah I enjoyed wreckfest, is the sequel an actual thing?
Looks more fun than marathon! Solid release date choice👍
I really enjoyed this on Xbox. It's nothing life changing but good, mindless fun.
@datamonkey Wreckfest 2 is currently in Early Access on Steam, and "Coming Soon" on PS5... you can add to your wishlist. I'm hopeful for a 2026 release date.
@Haggis555 paid DLC on xbox. A Road Rash style mode with bikes and 3 Japanese styled vehicles(and maybe a course). $4.99 each. Game is jank and I got bored quick. Wreckfest or The Crew MF a better choice.
Just give me a new burnout please 🥺
@Topov81 ah sweet I didn’t know that thanks!
Looks pretty sweet, gotta say I'm more hyped about Flatout 4 coming to PSVR2 tho
If boring events/modes still a pass. XD
Wreckfest had no driver slingshot mode or anything else exciting just races and derbies. That's too dangerous or creative for modern gaming. derbies/races, 20 hours, ok tracks and motor sofa/lawn mower and bus wow, wreckfest was hit and miss.
Modern racing games suck, its all cars (license or not is fine) but boring progression and look at our locations/physics. Aka boring.
I'll buy Gear Club 3 but only because its stamina aka fuel liming like GT6 or highways seem fair. Its otherwise safe but decent. Still not exciting, So were Gravel/Grid legends. Onrush was still better.
Yup. Looks like a blast, and my lil dude loves Wreckfest.
