Re: New Mana Game in Development for Consoles

Turbodream

@Nem Maybe you think those two games are nothing like CT but Tokyo RPG factory made those games as homage to CT. The gameplay is similar enough to evoke playing CT on a SNES back in 1995.

If you want a really good JRPG about time travel, you need to play Radiant Historia. There's no better alternative.

Re: Almost Half of PlayStation Gamers Are Women

Turbodream

I think it's hilarious that people judging the "gaming status" of others are usually the type of gamers with the curiosity level of a rock who play 1 or 2 games religiously and nothing else. You are the "filthy casuals" in my eyes lol.

Re: Almost Half of PlayStation Gamers Are Women

Turbodream

I'm genuinely surprised the number of women gamers is not higher. I'm happy that more women are interested in gaming than ever, be on PS or others platforms because it means gaming audiences is still growing. IMHO, it also means the industry is healthy and is offering enough variety for everyone. On average, for example women tends to prefer visual novels and jrpgs more than men and men tends to prefer fps and sports games more than women. More women in gaming means more variety offered.

That 9% difference is still a big gap statistically speaking though. We're still maybe a decade off a more even split because the grow will come from todays children, not older generations.

I grew up in the late 80s, early 90s and gaming was totally a sausage fest back then. The first time I remember a AAA game that was a big success with women was The Sims in the year 2000.

Re: New Mana Game in Development for Consoles

Turbodream

@Nem I don't think there will be a new Chrono game ever again. I mean, a lot of people hate Chrono Cross just for not being Chrono Trigger... There's no way a new game would surpass the very high expectations CT fans have and devs already tried several times to emulate CT with mitigated success (I am Setsuna and Lost Sphear comes to mind).

Re: New Mana Game in Development for Consoles

Turbodream

@Nem The appeal (at least at the start with secret, trials and legend) is that these games are colorful, gorgeous, fun coop action rpgs. Also, Seiken Densetsu 3 was really impressive at the time of its release in 1995.

Re: Mini Review: Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World (PS4) - A Gorgeous Cel-Shaded Remake

Turbodream

The reviewer is a pampered baby... could you get more lazy and entitled? Seriously, you are gonna cry because you do not have an auto-save feature for a 6 hours game when you can manually save everywhere? Who needs that for a remake of a 16bit retro game with an already way easier difficulty than the original?

Pro-tips: maybe if you stopped save scumming every 20 seconds to alleviate your total lack of skills and to pacify your microscopic attention span you would get decent at the game.

Re: Sony Backtracks PS3, PS Vita Online Store Closures

Turbodream

@KayOL77 Currently, it's 304 PS1 games with some trophy support implemented via PC emulation. They seems to have most of the bigger games/franchises already: Spyro, Crash, Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, Medievil, Tony Hawk, Twisted Metal, Tomb Raider, Tekken, Suikoden, Mega Man, Dino Crisis are all there.

Re: Sony Backtracks PS3, PS Vita Online Store Closures

Turbodream

@Old-Red I'm still going to put all my PS3 collection in my console this year to be sure I have all the patches/updates I can get. It's a good excuse to try everything. I don't trust Sony anymore about their legacy content, I'm glad for the delay but I think the PS3 (and Vita) will go bye bye in 1 to 3 years.

Re: Sony Backtracks PS3, PS Vita Online Store Closures

Turbodream

@TowaHerschel7 Yes, you should still be able to buy PSP games via your PS3 or your Vita, then download it on your PSP via your download list.

It's clunky but should works.

The only problem is I remember that for some reason, not every PSP games I wanted to buy for my Vita were showing on the Vita Store. I bought them back in january/february while the old web store was still operational. I didn't test it with the PS3 store, so maybe you can still find everything with that store.

Do note that several great PSP games are delisted (in North America at least). Every games from Sting developer except Gungnir are gone. Others notable delisted include Brave Story, R-Type command and WipeOut Pure. Also, some of the best games were never offered digitally: FF7 crisis core and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth are top 10 material imho.

Re: Sony Backtracks PS3, PS Vita Online Store Closures

Turbodream

@wiiware Sony loves to do double or triple dipping, rereleasing games multiple times. The "emulating PS3 is hard guys" excuse is weak. Release remasters of your PS3 exclusive Sony or at least put them on PC, just like you did with Vita.

Btw, you can play PS1 games with trophies on PC, go to retroachievements.org.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@Mince It's relatively active for a discontinued console. Just looks at reddit or youtube. Sony canned the Vita like it was a flop like the Virtual Boy or the Wii U. It's not.

Your numbers are probably more up-to-date than mine. My main point is still correct though. Playstation attracts a more hardcore crowd than Nintendo. They buy more games and buy more games from 3rd party developers.

Anyways, it was fun to discuss with you but like you did with the Vita, I will be moving on with that conversation. I'm long overdue for a long vacation from anything related to Sony. Will be gaming on PC for a long while then back to my backlog.

Re: Around 2,200 Digital Games on the Chopping Block When Sony Closes PS3, PS Vita, PSP Stores

Turbodream

@get2sammyb Thanks for the link. Your article read like a PR announcement for Sony though and is very naive. C-Bomb is a very serious threat and is known for years.

If Sony do nothing, eventually when they close the servers completely PS3 digital games everybody bought will be unaccessible and it will brick all PS4 consoles (both physical and digital will not work). Forcing people to buy a PS5 by bricking their PS4 is odious. I have no confidence that Sony will do something to solve this problem; just read their EULA / terms of service. It's disgusting.

Btw, good luck getting a response from Sony. Hikkikori Media tried that and they ignored him. They know about this and do not want it to go viral.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@Mince Let's be logical. The attach rate for Playstation machines is the highest of the big three.

The Switch has the highest attach rate for Nintendo BUT most of it is limited to 1st party games.

Remember that Sony/ Nintendo/ Microsoft/ Valve all take the same 30% of sales as fees for using their stores. So, if I'm an indie developper I do want to put out my game on the most popular platforms (PS4 and Switch) AND on the platforms with the highest attach rate ratio (PS4 and PS Vita).

PC market is way oversaturated though. That's why indies are on consoles (because it's often more profitable).

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@Mince I was rather comparing PS5 to an up-to-date PC. Modern consoles are basically pcs anyways lol.

Yes, Switch is a better option than Vita but you would be surprised at the hardcore fan base for the Vita. It is still very active on the Internet.

Anyways, I would love a PS Vita 2 to compete with the Switch 3.

The Switch 2 is basically the Switch Pro that is coming soon. It is supposed to be as powerful as a base PS4. I'm tempted.

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite PS3 Games

Turbodream

@get2sammyb Please add: Aquapazza.
50 Cent: blood on the sand
Bleach: soul resurreccion
XBLAZE: lost memories

Also, Tekken X Street Fighter do not exist only Street Fighter X Tekken was released.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@Mince By your logic you should not buy a PS5 because it is already technologically outdated lol.

What's the most important is the software, not the hardware. If it was the other way around, Nintendo would be long dead and Sega would still be in the console market (Dreamcast was Xbox before Xbox).

Anyways, the point is the precipitated Vita store closure is a very bad PR move. It shows a very clear lack of respect for indie developpers.

The 3 stores closures are also very bad for video games preservation / history. Emulation isn't perfect.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@PSoneboi Fair enough point. I know we can't realistically expect support for a good amount of years nowadays with all the consumerism and planned obsolescence pushed our way. It just stinks to see another example of the fact that everything and everyone is disposable, including customers and developpers.

To think that the Nintendo of a bygone era offered support (new pieces and repair) for the Famicom (released in 1983) until october 2007...

*Sorry if people (me included) are abrasive it's just that it's a very emotional situation (for me at least) and sometimes it's difficult to judge if people are intentionally omitting facts or not.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@PSoneboi Maybe take the time to read the article next time before making an ass of yourself. You have a developper's name and two cancelled games mentioned in the article. So go ahead, apologize: (from the article)

"For developers like Lillymo Games – the makers of Habroxia 2 – this has resulted in the cancellation of its next title. Other releases like Thief’s Roulette and Lazr have been canned."

Also, you are a liar. You wrote " I never said you couldn’t buy one" to my reply to your comment saying this: "I haven't been able to buy a Vita for about 3 years now. No one sells them, you can't buy their games anywhere, and you can't get the memory cards either nor accessories." Saying you can't buy them anywhere then commenting later you can't buy them anywhere but on Ebay when you saw my comment...you are still wrong.

Dude, just stop, it's getting ridiculous.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@PSoneboi You can very easily buy new and used Vita consoles and games on Ebay and Amazon and most local video games stores have an online shop nowadays. I bought a Vita and 15 games this year and I'm in Canada (so basically the same as the US).

You also have american shops like Lukiegames that sell rarer stuff for a decent price.

You even have online shops like PlayAsia for importing without a hassle japanese or region 3 games.

You suck at searching.

Re: Many PS Vita Devs Cancel Projects After Sudden PS Store Closure

Turbodream

@Jbuggydroid I bought a blue japanese Vita this january and I LOVE it.

Since then I purchased a dozen of fantastic PSP exclusive rpgs (digital) and about 15 exclusive Vita games (physical).

As a trophy enthusiast, I also really like the cross-buy option. It is a fantastic value for stackable trophies.

I also really like that I can play a lot of my bought PS1 classic from my PS3 on the go.

The only bad thing about the Vita is the memory card but with the closure I'm glad I invested in an additional 32 GO card to go with the 8 GO that came with the console.

Re: PS Store Spring Sale Delivers Big Discounts This Wednesday

Turbodream

I'm getting the last PSP, PS3 and Vita games I'm interested in before it's too late, so no $$$ for anything else.

Btw, to all the lobcocks comparing PS Vita store to the Wii eshop... Sony is still selling Vita dev kits and new Vita games are still coming to this day. It is premature and dumb to close that store. In contrast, Wii store closed years after the console was dead. Not the same thing.

I love trophies, but with what Sony is doing, I will have always buy only on PC if possible.

Re: Sony Confirms PS3, PS Vita, PSP Store Closures, Downloads Will Be Retained

Turbodream

As a great Polish man once said: "Who doesn't respect and value his past, is not worth the honour of the present, and has no right to a future."

I guess my PS3 physical collection will go up in prices now... still sucks for people with less disposable income.

Anyways, I just bought a PS Vita in january fml lol.

I know I'm in the minority but I'm not going to buy a PS5 if they do not bring back backwards compatibility for legacy systems. I'm going full Steam.

Re: Feature: Could PlayStation Do More to Promote Green Packaging?

Turbodream

Most comments here are naive and/or dumb. Video games cases are a drop in the ocean that is pollution. Most green measures are a marketing ploy to sell you cheaper materials at the same premium price than before. It's for money and PR, not the planet. You are never going to save the planet with such limited actions. All you do is giving yourself good conscience. We need to push our governments for legislations and regulations of industries. There are a ton of pollutants that we don't speak enough about outside CO2. Putting the responsability on individuals is a fool's errand and is highly ineffectual.

Anyways, for those that really want to be green and miserable, you shouldn't be a gamer at all and no internet or streaming Netflix. Those servers uses a ton of electricity and produces a ton of CO2. Also, no trips. No car. No kids. Do all that and then we'll discuss replacing cases. In the meanwhile, ***** off and let me collect my things. I do not drive a car. Never took a plane. Doesn't have a family. So, I'm already better for the planet than most of you posers 🥳

Re: Talking Point: What Content Do You Want from Push Square?

Turbodream

I would like more reviews, especially of AA, indies and import stuff.

I would love if you guys could do more "legacy content". PSP, VITA and PS3 need more love.

Features are always fun to read and your guides are useful.

I could live with less news. You put too much emphasis on those, especially rumors.

Re: New PS Store Sale Sends Retro PS4 Games to the Bargain Bin

Turbodream

@Robocod It could be worse, just look at Nintendo.

I agree though it's annoying because I am also waiting for PS4 sales for these indie games.

What I often do is I buy them first on Steam then eventually double dip when the price is finally low enough on PS4 (I like my trophies).
