So, I guess depending on how you look at it.
She left after 9 years with the company, 3 months after excitingly promoting this project at E3, to everyone's surprise.
Perhaps even hers.

And the fact that their project lead was fired more than halfway into development might also have something to do with it too.

Seems like this is what happens when you the let the bean counters who are not gamers run a company.
Reminds me of the hubris back in the day that almost brought Sony to it's knees.
The PS4 Era was awesome.
Great games (both AAA and indie) and a refreshing communication pattern.
The attitude that we have sold more units than PS4s at this point is "Doh" no kidding. People were so desperate for the next generation. If the PS5 was not b/c, this would be the end of Sony as a game company.
The way Xbox is playing to win, and Sony keeps creating self inflicted wounds, this will cause a lot of people to say this is the last Sony console I buy.
I hope not.
I love Sony.
But they have to get back in the fray with folks that actually play, build games, and respect their players leading the charge. Before you decide to set me on fire, I'm going to quietly take my soapbox and disappear behind the curtain.

I agree with the games you bring up.
However, I find it interesting that J. Ryan is taking credit for a number of titles that were under development way before he was sitting in the pilot's seat.
I'm very concerned for the future of Playstation because the current CEO 1) not a gamer and 2) a bean counter.
I really do believe that the days of Sony going out on a limb and taking real chances will dry up pretty quick once the games that were already in development are out in the wild.
Japan Studio is the first of many teams that will be tossed to the wayside because they can't generate enough cash quickly enough.
Bring back Shu to a position of power along with the rest of the previous executive team.

If you are looking for a more "arcadey" golf game. "Everybody's Golf" is really, really good.
If you want a simulation, "2K-21" is excellent!

I have the same question as costa69gr, does anyone know if there is going to be a free upgrade to PS5?

I'm surprised more folks did not play "Kentucky Route Zero" although in fairness it is more of an experience than a game. But, I'm still haunted it's eeriness, unbelievable art direction, and sense of style that will have me returning to it again and again over the years. There is nothing else like it. Flat out genius!

Unfortunately, it looks like the folks interacting with Dreams (creators and users) continues to fall off dramatically.

I have said from the beginning that Sony has turned their back on this project and on Media Molecule. They should have packed it into every PS5 along with Astro. They also should have done some marketing work to give the oxygen Dreams needed to really take off. Since it took over 8 years to make the product, don't be surprised to see Sony cut MM loose in the future. Shame since Dreams is a great product that just needs some interface and curation work to be a spectacular success.

But I have paid a lot more and gotten a lot less from many other titles. All opinions are fair.
Maybe pick it up when it hits your "will buy" line.
Fact is, it is worth every penny, in my opinion.

Better than Abzu and that is saying a lot.
Bought it and am about 4 hours in at this point.
Flat out beautiful and engaging.
Agree with the sentiment that Sony should buy them and Blue Point.
The fact that The Pathless was a free upgrade to PS5 and the mid-tier price point helped to seal the deal for me.
Very glad I pulled the trigger on this one.

I had the same exact problem with my PS4 Pro a couple of days ago of it rebuilding the data base of the external hard drive. My Pro is 3 years old, so this is not a new console problem.
Think this is all on Sony software side.

Another dumb decision after screwing up our parties on PS4.

Playing a lot of Legends this weekend and it has been outstanding so far. Working my way through the "story" section with 2 buddies and so far after 9 hours in we have about 4% of that section done. GOT has amazing value and great game play. The Legends add on just gives more. Thanks to Sucker Punch for the gift that keeps on giving. Petting ghost dogs for the win!

My take was that you hated it and therefore it was not "average", just "bad".

Shouldn't it rated much lower since the reviewer thought it was below average?

@kiki3400 I am also doing a ton of Crusader Kings 3 this weekend.
It is so much more approachable than CK2.
My wife is even interested in this one and has started her own campaign.
It's like the Sims in crazy history, but, much, much better.
Love how they have boosted the RPG aspects over previous entries.
I do hope that Paradox decides to move Crusader Kings 3 over to consoles as I think it would shine there.
After playing a lot of Stellaris on PS4, it just makes me want to have more Paradox games on Playstation.

I still love Dreams in spite of the fact that their sales have been horrible since release.
I still think Sony should pack it in every PS5 as a way to increase the user base and keep the content coming.
It is amazing what this software engine can do.

Yeah, I think it will really start to come into it's own as a franchise after this 2021product. But, it looks like a good start. It is great to have golf back on consoles. I appreciate that they are making it more accessible to folks that were not very good at the Golf Club series. My biggest concern is that 2K will start to stick it's fangs into the game to suck the money out of folks as PGA2K becomes more popular. For me, I love golf games and will probably be a yearly subscriber. Can not wait to see what the PS5 will bring to the party with this genre.

I am definitely a golf game addict and this one is shaping up to be incredible.

Gets boring quick already unistalled what surprised me most is people actually payed money for this at some point I got it for free and was still disappointed...

I think it is great to have an original, easy to pick up and play game in an environment that was getting stale. Nice to see something different in the video game space.

I'm really happy to see someone do something with the Battle Royale format without having to kill people.
This is something I can sit down and play with my grandkids.
Let's see if someone else takes this as inspiration to create new types of games.

Just got through playing another 6 hours of CrossCode today and it is getting better and better. Hard to believe a game this good is only $20.
Keep this one on your watchlist.

Continue with CrossCode PS4.
Started it last night and am about 5 hours in.
Got me hooked.

Excellent game.
And, better on PS4 than PC.
Highly recommended.

Just went to kickstarter and there is nothing there on this project.
Heck, it is hard enough to find anything on that site with all the chaff, so they better do a better job of highlighting it there to generate investor attention.

@East76landS Yeah, I do believe it is going to be more expensive than XBox, but IMHO Sony has to be very careful here or they could lose the next generation war. People just don't have the expendable income they used to have, in spite of wanting to get in on the PS5. Just because Sony won the last generation, that does not lead to a victory lap for them. Microsoft is being very cagey here with their next generation plans. Xbox offering free upgrade on late generation games to newest Xbox, game pass, etc. I'm just saying that they should charge a decent price and even if slightly more than Xbox, the games will out. BUT, if Sony comes at it from a position of hubris, then I think they could lose this time around. I'm a died in the wool Sony fan (even bought the PS3 at launch for $600) but, Microsoft is coming out swinging.

Sony can not afford to charge so much that it gives the new generation to Microsoft. Color me somewhat concerned at this point. But I, like all of us, hope for the best.

@AFCC That is exactly what I was thinking. I think Sony is letting Microsoft take the upper hand in this next generation unless they mirror the XBox approach to free upgrades to PS5 version (not just compatibility) when purchasing late stage PS4 games.
Sony will also have to think of something to announce that will also deal with the XBox game pass solution to keep the arms race level going forward.

Dreams is definitely worth it!
Again, Sony, pack it in with every PS5 so we can start to see more traction for the product.

Love to see them release "Dreams" as a pack-in for the PS5 similar to the way that Nintendo released "Sports" for the Wii. Few things would happen there. First, they get the product in a lot more hands day one. Two, many people that never saw it would become fanatics for it and either as surfers or dream creators. Last, it would give Sony access to some hidden talent that could contribute to their pool of developers for the indie space.
Just a thought.

These guys are trying to cover the fact that "loot boxes" are included in some of their biggest products and they DON'T want to walk that back.

I agree with Nightcrawler71 when he/she says it does not go far enough.
Example: the FIFA series is marked "E" for everyone and yet it is more of a casino than EA will admit. A casino that is available to a 9 year old that has their parents credit card number. Same is true for Battlefield, Madden, NBA2K, etc.

Just say, "Includes loot boxes" and tell it like it is.
The ESRB is not going to fully communicate what is going on as long as it's master is holding the reigns.

I'd actually love to see someone make a "Arena Football" game as the energy level is high in that format.

I guess the big question for me is if they have implemented additional ways to navigate the interface. Trying to move around the screen by pointing and moving the dual-shock was frustrating at best.
