@thefourfoldroot1 Hey. Try standing in one spot and spinning the camera in circles around your character at the two different frame rates. I feel confident that you will be able to see the difference.
@rjejr What’s up with Foram? That guy have some beef with you? That account was just started October 8, but he talks like you have been badmouthing Sony portables for ages. What did you do?
@thefourfoldroot1 I think the 12 hour campaign was a reference to the banana collectible that was offered for only a single day, October 12, when the Stars program launched in Europe. For a couple of days afterward, the campaign and reward were still showing up in the app, but it was marked as expired. Very frustrating, as I played a game during the required timeframe, but apparently you needed to click Start on the campaign in the app to receive the reward.
Sackboy also had a free Toem skin that I discovered shortly after playing Toem from the PS Plus titles last month. It’s so cute and the timing was perfect, as was the extra free content added to Toem after hitting Plus.
There is a twenty dollar gift card in the reward program that can be purchased for 5000 points. @trev666 So fifty points is equal to twenty cents. That is laughable when you see the list of games eligible for the reward. Except for Inscryption, most are sixty dollar games on the PS4 and seventy on the PS5. A seventy dollar purhase gets you twenty cents of credit.
I am surprised by the number of people who have TLOU2 on their lists. I have always felt the structure is brilliant and such a bold move to have you play as Abbie for half the game, but I thought I was in the minority. It’s nice to see others appreciate it as well.
@thefourfoldroot1 I love the Yakuza series as well but could easily spend a hundred plus hours in each game. How do you find the time to play anything else?
Toem, a little indie game that was on PS Plus this month. It’s a joy to play. This is the type of game that is ideal for the subscription service. I only wish I had it on Switch because it would be perfect for a hand held system, with its ability to zoom in and out and rotate the environment. Can’t wait for Chicory (I have been eyeing it for over a year in the store sales) and Spiritfarer when they hit Extra in a couple of weeks. Keep the indies coming Sony.
@Smithylfc2008. It has been a while since I played it, but this did not have a Platinum trophy on PS4. So it probably won’t on the PS5 either. Still worth playing again though.
These comments are humorous. They go back and forth between people who prefer the stealth, parkour and assassinations of the original games and those that like the open world, exploration and lengthy quests of the more recent ones. It’s like reading the comments in any The Last of Us article, alternating between the people who would never pay seventy dollars to play it again and the others that can’t wait until Friday.
Why so many articles about Multiversus and only one mention of Rumbleverse last week before it launched? It is unfortunate timing, but Rumbleverse deserves a look, especially since it officially went live August 11.
And for people talking about box office receipts, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which was entirely in Mandarin, made 128 million in America alone. And that was over twenty years ago, well before the majority of viewers had been exposed to subtitled films via streaming services.
For the people complaining about having to read subtitles during a fast paced action sequence, it’s not like there is a lot of dialogue during the action.
Anyone else missing five or six skins that should have been unlocked with the purchase of the Legendary Edition or Origins Edition? I have had those skins for years and now they are gone.
@jrt87 I find the activity cards incredibly useful for mopping up trophies (especially for collectibles that I might have missed) or as a hint if I get stuck, rather than having to stop and look up a guide or You Tube video. Plus, it’s super fast to jump into a game at a particular spot. Only wish more developers implemented them.
@Netbean. Good luck with that. I placed a deposit and got on the wait list months ago and still have not received confirmation that I will even get one in the first quarter of 2023. Meanwhile scalpers are getting over $800 for the 256 gig model and between $1000 - $1200 for the 512 GB.
Now I can sell my physical copy of Tony Hawk, which I bought for five dollars at a pawn shop. Should be able to get twenty on eBay.. Another perk of physical over digital. I frequently find used PS4 games for a few dollars at pawn shops and flea markets. Can’t flip digital. .
Hell yes. Great month. Already have two of the titles (although Tony Hawk is the PS4 version). Love the Yakuza series but skipped Like a Dragon because I’m not fond of turn based combat. I get to try it now that it is free and maybe the Yakuza style will be wacky enough to make it tolerable.
I might start A Plague Tale: Innocence again. I just beat it a few days ago but was two leather short from fully upgrading my sling and it kept me from getting the Platinum. Going back to specific chapters doesn’t seem to work for the upgrade as it will not save over the original file. The only way I see to get it is to replay the entire game from the beginning. I hate to waste those hours, but the one missing trophy is truly bothering me. If anyone knows a workaround, please let me know. And I might squeeze in a few games of Multiversus when I get frustrated with rats. At least Tom and Jerry aren’t playable this week.
@dschons. Wow. Thanks so much for the recommendation. Somehow missed this on its initial release. Game is developed by Aardman (the team behind Wallace & Gromit) and has a truly unique visual style like an impressionistic oil painting crossed with the rotoscoping technique used in the Linklater film Waking Life. This is a true gem and I never would have known about it without your comment.
This looks promising . Very atmospheric. Reminds me of an early Jamie Bell movie called Death Watch set in the German trenches of World War I. Should be a nice change of pace for horror fans.
@Resi32 I’m not sure about the exact monetary conversion into U.S. dollars, but 30 quid seems cheap. It sells for between $65 and $70 for a used copy on eBay. And there are dozens that have sold at that price. A factory sealed copy goes for $150. Crazy.
Another article speculating about the time frame for a God of War announcement? What are you guys going to write about when they give us an official release date?
@LiamCroft Sorry, but here is another fan of the Pulse headset. Incredibly comfortable and great sound in both games and chat. You must have a really big head.
Of course, I just upgraded to PS Plus Extra yesterday. Too many games to choose from and not enough time. Maybe I can squeeze a few hours in between runs of Returnal and my first try at Dead Cells.

Re: At Least The Callisto Protocol Will Be 60fps
@HeroYoshiko. The base PS4 could output 1080p at a targeted 30fps. The big selling point of the PS4 Pro was 4K.

Re: Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals Delayed, Slips into Crowded 2023 Release Window
Oxenfree nailed branching dialogue choices. Any developer that uses this mechanic should take note. It was much smoother and more fluid than most.
